And for someone who was naturalized or held other citizenships (who would not be eligible for the Presidency) there would be many other documents required to establish their whole chain of national status up to the present.

To the best of my knowledge the only thing Obama has allowed to see the light of day is a xeroxed Certification, not a Certificate, and that is to an actual Long Form BC about as an announcement in the paper that someones son or daughter has graduated from Medical School is to an actual Medical Diploma. I don’t know how many times, in how many ways, that has to be said.

Has anyone ever heard someone other than the state of Hawaii official admit that they have seen the original Certificate of Birth (long form) of the one we call the ONE™? Of course not. No one has. And the state of Hawaii official just says she’s seen the document, leaving many questions.
Just release the document. If it wasn’t for the Rather documents, I probably wouldn’t even give this much thought.
If the sleazy left attempted a forgery with the TANG docs, they sure as hell would try with O’s birth records. And remember, Obama wasn’t even involved with the TANG docs, but now we have a President and an administration willing to squat to really, really low levels, so of course they would resort to another forgery.
The asshole just has to produce all his records.

Also, I wasn’t really interested in Obama’s fake citizenship until Major Cook had his deployment orders revoked rather than being court marshaled. Court don’t require that. They will accept alternative form of evidence under some circumstances.
For example, if you lose or destroy your will and you die, courts will accept alternative form of evidence of the content of your will (below is an example)
http://www.wa-probate.com/Instructions/Opening/Lost-Will.htm#Summary
If a document (like a cert of live birth) is admissible to show that one is a citizen, courts will admit that as evidence of that.

Well I did ignore most of that stuff. I probably wasn’t clear about the attention they got. As you watch the coverage of the “birthers” they are portrayed as a small vocal group who actually represent what most Republican think and will ultimately be the downfall of the party. I don’t think Truthers were portrayed as a representative voice of Democrats by media. I do wonder if those Truther movies and publications made enough money so that those folks won’t have to get real jobs now.
Cindy Munford on July 27, 2009 at 12:42 AM
It’s just a friggin’ birth certificate. You act as if it’s asking for someone to produce the Holy Grail. It’s sitting on record in Hawaii, ready to mail as soon as $12 is paid and the person okays it. Get a grip, man. Your argument is ridiculous.

I like how all the women are mad that I generalized women …. but are silent on the statements “women are smarter than men”
Yes I made a generalized statement, that was in contrast to another generalized statement, the difference is one is accepted because of popular culture. The other is never to be spoken of or face the wrath of women.
To say all women are stupid is not right. To say all men are stupid is not right. To say women are any smarter than men, or men are any smarter than women is not right… but do not try and get all high and mighty with me when i point out many females use emotions and ideals in forming their opinions.
Case in point -when ever you talk about abortion, women always jump to the most rarest and worst case scenario “what if she was raped, she shouldn’t have a mans baby who raped her!” As if the act of rape, makes the abortion less murder…. its either wrong 100% of the time or its acceptable 100% of the time.
And in my experiences, on gun control most women think if everybody had guns people would be shot over simple disagreements or xbox games.

The big problem with the birth certificate movement is that there may not be an adequate remedy. If the election had yet to occur, the solution would be simple: throw his name off the ballot and tell the DNC to put up someone else.
Assume that Obama is not a citizen. (Yes, big assumption, but bear with me.) Assume that this information comes out in court. Further assume that this would go to the Supreme Court. What remedy is there? After Bush v. Gore in 2000, which merely stopped an unlawful recount, would the Court dare step in and throw Obama out of office?
Would the Senate – up 60 Democrats to 40 Republicans – do their job, which would be to impeach Obama? If there were a GOP majority with a backbone, the birth certificate issue would be the first of many “high crimes and misdemeanours” to carry Barack into impeachment hearings. We don’t have that, though, so I can’t help but wonder… what remedy do these people seek?
Frankly, there is only one rational explanation for this: forcing Obama to do what each and every one of us have to do before becoming employed: show lawful identification. As someone who is fed up with the elitism, I would be thrilled with such a result.

Donut… how do I put this. As a woman, I get upset when men, who will never get pregnant with their rapist’s baby, make such heartless statements.
While I certainly appreciate men’s passion for the pro-life cause, and firmly believe that they have a lot to offer the movement, making policy isn’t one of those things.
As a practical matter, an abortion ban with no exception for rape cannot be passed in any state in this country, even though an abortion ban that would allow for a rape exception (in addition to an exception for an abortion in order to save the mother’s life or to avoid a serious, debilitating threat to her health) would pass in a majority of states and be supported by a majority of Americans.
Life, health, and rape account for a mere 7% of abortions. Let’s focus on the 93% of abortions that about 60% of Americans disagree with and would not mind banning.
Never forget that Roe came about because “Roe” lied and said that she had been raped, but still could not get an abortion under Texas law. That is the background for the constitutional right that prevents good pro-life legislation almost four decades later.
Roxeanne de Luca on July 27, 2009 at 1:12 AM
This isn’t a complicated issue but Barack Obama and handlers have made it into one by devoting such time, huge amount of money and resources to avoid simply honoring very basic requests by a concerned public.
It’s like with Gates responding as he did when asked by a member of law enforcement to provide his identification and to, literally, just comply reasonably with the officer’s questions — understandable to EVERYONE I know of who is reasonable and remotely balanced in mind and character.
Obama’s gone to extensive lengths to avoid explaining himself and the explanation, I do believe, is owed the nation at this point.
His academic records (not the hyperbole he or his ghostwriter go on and on about in his books), his explanations as to the many reasonable questions that suggest he is not Constitutionally eligible for the U.S. Presidency (his multiple citizenships, multiple passports, from the look of things, his justification as to why he’s “natural born” as the Const. requires that explains his birth circumstances when his mother’s age and residency were of question, whether he was born in Hawaii or not).
Obama needs to be required to answer these questions. I think the time for asking him to do so is over. He should be required by “we the people” to explain his missing gaps in who the heck he actually is.
Born in Hawaii? Fine, then, document it. Making up image files to post on dailykos and then Obama’s sites afterward are not adequate explanations, nor is it even reasonable that a credible person would even go to such lengths to avoid presenting the actual document/s involved.
I’m disappointed in Coulter’s remarks.

Which just goes to show that this whole BIRTH CERTIFICATE deal has captured the entire USA… and Europe, as I hear.
So it won’t be going away anytime soon.
And despite the Alinskyite DEMs trying to make it go away by labeling people who want to see Obama cough up the Birth Certificate as BIRTHERS, they really haven’t scared anyone away, have they? IN FACT there is a growing interest in the whole Birth Certificate issue…you’d have though that it would go away by now, but no….it hasn’t…in fact it is picking up steam….
If Barack Obama gets any more unpopular, even DEMS will demand to see his BC…and THEY will get rid of him…so that they can elevate another of their party….
GeorgiaDoe on July 27, 2009 at 1:18 AM
The one point that even Obama has referred to requires an explanation (as do the other issues, but even this Obama referred to):
that is, that he has referred to “something” “on that” (his alleged birth certificate) “that if made public, would be embarrassing to a lot of people.”
SO HE’S ADMITTED there’s some other document beyond what he’s released to the public…and that there’s more information contained on it than he is comfortable releasing.
Why is that? And isn’t that an admission of fraud? I mean by that, Obama’s admitted that HE’S NOT RELEASING PROBLEMATIC INFORMATION because he recognizes that it’d compromise public perception of who he is.
I can’t understand how it is these important aspects about a guy who is in our White House is being somehow made to appear marginal.
These aren’t marginal concerns. I am not at all comfortable with the very idea that this guy just may not like us, this country, and be as he’s already admitted a covert individual.
Release his academic records…why NOT? What’s to hide?
His BEHAVIOR calls himself into question as to his credibility. That alone should be explored and needs to be.

During the 2004 election the Dems repeatedly defended and supported a known, proven, admitted, liar. John Kerry. I would go spastic asking them how they could possibly think someone like Kerry, who was on caught lying on video tape all over the internet, could possibly be believed against the Swifties.
It’s bizarre to see so many conservatives act just like them. Obama puts Kerry to shame in the smooth liar arena. But I guess when you make up your own truth, there is no such thing as a lie. That’s how liberals make it through an average day.

Shrillary? You mean the idiot who gave the Russians a red nuclear button that was supposed to say ‘reset’ on it but had it mistranslated at State to read ‘overcharged’, as in ‘about to explode’? Is that the genius you are depending on? Or do you mean the Shrillary who declared that the Honduran government, in following their Constitution, perpetrated a coup against a President who was violating their Constitution ten ways from Sunday? Maybe that is the genius Shrillary whose judgment you are banking on?
Yeah, if Shrillary didn’t understand the situation then there must be nothing to it. She’s a genius … She was so smart that she stepped right on the minefield of illegal aliens being given licenses to derail her nomination – something that most people, here, knew was political death for anyone who mentioned it. Yep, Shrillary really knew what she was doing. And then she was so smart that she left a position of autonomous and individual power to be out to pasture as SecState … when she’s not busy making a joke of herself at it.

Dan Rather and Mary Mapps are going to investigate the authonticity of it first.

Maybe they’re just tired of being called “unhinged.”
I do, and that’s my biggest point of skepticism. But it’s not a substitute for seeing the long-form birth certificate, or getting a solid, clear explanation for why that’s not possible.
I mean, Hillary didn’t give away John Edwards’ big secret, did she?

And I think that the point here is that the Obama Believers are more than beginning to look as unhinged as the Apocalyptic Global Warming believers.

One should always look for a possible alternative and provide against it. It is the first rule of analysis.

As I started writing this, there were 587 posts in this QotD, so AP picked a topic that generated a lot of page views. that’s money to Hot Air which they need to continue. And as much as some posters, including AP, drive me crazy, and as I’m sure I do others, I believe Hot Air is the blog most broadly representative of all the GOP’s factions. I also greatly respect Ed’s analysis and comments, and often find AP’s analysis brilliant and enjoy his humor. And I believe it is increasing in influence, and rightly so. I want it to flourish.
Yes. This is a divisive issue. Some of us will be “sleeping on the couch” about it. Some of us are holding grudges and throwing bombs. That can’t be stopped by avoiding the topic. that cannot be stopped by attempting to suppress people from expressing their views. It has to be worked out.
Otherwise, the grudges and bomb throwing will never end, and many of us will be grumpy from sleeping on the couch. And that will make it more difficult for us to work together to get the job done, to push back Obama’s congress in 2010 and 2012, and perhaps defeat him in 2012.
It’s been a tiring day for me, so I will stop posting soon. I wish I could have a longer chat with you off site, as I do very much appreciate discussions with you. But to do so, you’ll have to figure out how to get in touch with a hermit.

To your point 1 – Both of my kids, US Citizens by birth, were born outside of the United States. So was John McCain.
Point 2 – He doesn’t have to think about stonewalling. That’s Axelrod’s job.
Honestly, I’d rather see his grades and transcripts. The more we focus on his birth certificate, the less we focus on how many classes he attended that were taught by radicals. It’s the old deception by obfuscation routine.

Yes. That was a petty parting shot.
I don’t believe that most members of the MSM fear Palin will be elected president or fear conservatives in general. They rarely encounter us in their daily lives. They have the White House and super-majorities in both chambers of congress. They are one Justice away from controlling the Supreme Court. They dominate the news and entertainment industries and the educational field.
Instead, I believe they have elite contempt for all things conservative, and not just Sarah Palin. Their contempt for other potential GOP candidates is expressed differently, but it is still there. Even those they are more tolerant of, tolerance is the key word. they can just barely tolerate them.
We need to go over, under and around the MSM. Hot Air helps.

You need to go back to the events that led up to swing away from HRC in 2007 to BHO in 2008. Power brokers at the highest levels of the DNC chose their candidate. High stakes calculated political effects and fallouts were put into play during the democratic primary. The SRM also weighed into the decision heavily. Who did SRM protect & defend vehemently and who they didn’t should speak volumes. The left (DNC) are cutthroats or have you forgotten about that character trait. Did HRC have the goods on BHO? Maybe or better to say probably not but HRC surely could easily have known the political consternation of the DNC power brokers since she is one of them to begin with anyway. The stars were not in alignment for HRC in 2008 according the BS spewed out the SRM. It was the time to elect the first of something else whereby, setting a presedent for the people to say they helped make it happen in their lifetime. Oh well, HRC negotiated a cabinet position out of her submission to the unprincipled, ruthless people and decided to fall in line with the parties druthers because a healing of the democratic party had to be conveyed prior to the general election.

Fine and dandy but you better not tell me in the future to rein in my comments when you believe that they are causing dissent or else I’ll give you a friendly reminder of what you just wrote here. That is not a threat to you personally by any means but only a gentle caution or advisory statement from me to you.
[btw] IMHO nothing was accomplished on this issue. Dozens of other topics would have achieved a similar amount of hits or comments on a QOTD thread.
