It’s really sad that your opinion of any political pundit is based on HA comments. Try thinking for yourself, and like Frum, don’t hide behind your perceived self-importance over others.

For you to say that it’s “unnecessarily angry, negative” for me to say you should be on the bottom tier, then you are only exposing your own hypocrisy.

You may think your earth-shattering analysis of inarticulate comments is brilliant, but in reality it’s bottom-tier material (or top-tier comic fodder).

Actually, yes. Frum says, “I think this sort of exchange is proof of how effective a uniter Sarah Palin is”. I do not want to believe Frum’s sarcasm (as I said, I love Palin), but when I read unnecessarily angry, negative comments such as yours and those above, I begin to wonder if he may be right.

I’m glad you agree that Hotair should have a tiered comments system.

In my mind, these brilliant commentaries argue two things very effectively:
1) David Frum might actually have a point, and
2) we need a comment tiering system at Hotair badly.

I didn’t know Frum was a Conservative. His new majority is a moderate group at best, and actively works to impede conservativism. In fact, many of the GOP who voted for TARP are NM members – since you require proof. My congressman – John Campbell – CA was one of them.

Frum and NM aggressively promoted McCain and blamed Palin for his loss. He personally routinely attacks conservative proponents such as Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh. His actions serve to demonstrate he is not at all interested in uniting conservatives or rebuilding the GOP under conservative principles. If you want to defend him go to the NM web page, read the list of commenters and their bios, then come back and tell the Hotair folks they have to toe Frum’s line.

Dave, why don’t you define the conservative movement, and then tell us how Frum promotes it. Then watch the folks around here articulate why they disagree with him.

I love Sarah Palin. I think she’d be a great candidate. I also happen to think David Frum is brilliant, and am grateful we conservatives have him on our side. Agreed. A lot of republicans decided after the elections that instead of working to build the party up, they were going to attack other republicans. Makes perfect sense, don’t it?

Personally, I like Frum. I don’t always agree with him, yet most of the time he makes excellent points. Much like every other conservative talking head/ blogger/ columnist.

It seems more than a little misplaced to spend all of our time screaming obscenities against him.

If a President goes into office with a good working knowledge, and is a quick study, they can manage quite well in foreign policy. Sarah Palin possesses the “right stuff” to succeed, should she ever run and be elected into the Presidency.

Why are Huckabee or Romney more qualified in foreign policy than she? They aren’t, and Obama most certainly is not, as all of us with half a brain knew before he was even elected, and have seen the last seven months.

Huckabee is a nice, decent, smart guy who makes a great talk show host, and perhaps a good Governor(?), but he is not right for President of the United States. If Republicans thought Dems gave Bush a hard time about his religion, what would they do to an ex-preacher?

As for Romney, also a nice, decent, very smart guy with two major things agaist him; 1) His Morman religion (ok by me, but not w/ everyone), 2) His healthcare program in the State of Mass. could hurt him w/ conservatives.

One great thing going for him; his economic knowledge, which is a big plus right now.

Sarah Palin is our best bet, at least for VP, if not President.

Abortion. It’s a losing issue everytime. No one wants a governnment with a gun to a woman’s head telling her she has no choice but to reproduce.Doesn’t exactly capture the women’s vote. Drop the social conservatism and never lose another election. Keep hammering abortion and more than likely Republicans will lose far more than they will win.

There is a generational gap that you are missing. Older women get very, very upset over abortion, having been sold a bill of goods about it “being a woman’s right to choose.” Furthermore, they were at their most fertile in an era in which the Pill was not nearly as popular as it is now, condoms were not given out for free, and women were just moving into the working world.

The younger generation wonders why any woman would get pregnant in the first place (and tells her to stop being a stupid moron – please make the guy wear a condom before sleeping with him, sweetie), and, then, once pregnant, thinks that she ought to be able to finish her education and be a professional – as well as a mother.

We don’t see it as the government holding a gun to women’s heads; we understand that, in the twenty-first century, women CHOOSE to be pregnant, either through deliberate act or utter stupidity.

The President manages the government not a theology department. Ike grew up as a Jehovah’s Witness and was able to run WWII before converting to a more mainstream faith.

Nobody has accused Democrats of not being eager to cut and run. Not sure what this has to do with Republicans.

You know what he did after that? He won the 1828 election for President, the first to do so in the “Democratic Party” faction he formed from the split the old “Democratic-Republican Party”.

Yes, that’s right, boys and girls. The founder of the Democratic Party resigned a longer term a dozen days earlier than Palin did. Now, who’s a quitter?

I agree. Sarah inspires but she does so towards traditional Ameican values. And of course she’s competent based on all the stuff completed before her resignation. Her supporters will beg her to run if she is the biggest factor outside of the Dems in helping the GOP take back the House.

Last time I checked, holding a gun on a female to obtain sex was called rape. Only by raping her during her fertile days could someone be credibly accused of “forcing her to reproduce.”

As for your list of religious people, you left Palin off your list. I’m willing to overlook some of her qualities because I like the rest character of her enough to discount them. Besides, there’s no way an atheist would ever be elected president.

I have much more respect for people who have principles they believe in, even if they are pretty stupid, than I have with liars who obviously pretend to believe something if they think it will get them elected. Like Obama. If anybody thinks Obama is religious, I’ve got a bridge for sale in Brooklyn.
