It's only a hop, skip and jump to there being no committees. Heck, we're already at a point where Republicans aren't even allowed to weigh in on important issues or even read legislation before it goes for a vote. Why is anyone surprised this guy is willing to keep his OWN folks from asking any questions? It ain't about reform, folks. It's about Obama's power. And whatever they gotta do to put more power into his hands, they are going to do.

Evidently there are no provisions for cosmetic surgery in the senate health plan. Makes John Bolton stand out with good looks!

I think the Blue Dogs have a golden opportunity here to take control of the direction of the House, at least for the near future. Pelosi cannot pass a bill without them unless she gets Republican defectors, which I don't think she will on this bill. The BDs should make it clear that if she undermines the committee they will vote it down on the floor, a risk she can't take as that would mean final death to the legislation. They hold the cards, the only question is if they know it and are willing to play hardball. Personally I would LOVE for Pelosi to go around the committee and lose a floor vote, the sight of Pelosi's head exploding would be the best thing I have seen in months.

This is an unmitigated and ugly disaster for the Democratic party and ugliness for America as well:

Representative Charlie Melancon, a Blue Dog Democrat from Louisiana, gave a blunt summary of the situation: “Mr. Waxman has decided to sever discussion with Blue Dogs who are trying to get a bill that works for America.”Mr. Melancon said Mr. Waxman had spurned most of the Blue Dogs’ recommendations and had not negotiated in good faith. “I have been lied to,” he said.Racial overtones also appeared to creep into the intraparty dispute. One African-American Democrat pointed out that the seven Blue Dogs who were holding up the bill in the Energy and Commerce Committee were “a nondiverse group” of white men.

I hope Waxman and Pelosi do what they threaten.

The blowback will be significant A lot of people will figure out there's a war on, and these two wingnuts are not our friends.

This piece of dung has to be stopped. No compromise, no half measures, it has to be killed. It is not reversible, no one will ever have the guts to do it. "We survived Carter" is not a proper mindset on this issue. We have to win, they have to lose.

So I hope they do go nuclear, because I believe they will lose. The thuggery anc chicanery are just too obvious, and coming so soon after Crap and Tax, Bama's poll fall should accelerate, and Pelosi, Waxman and their ilk may find themselves in trouble they cannot overcome, even if they keep their jobs.

Pelosi didn't get the message her book tour communicated: your self-approval rating is not a shared view, by a huge margin.

I'm not taking a chance. I have a blue-dog congressman, and I have written him today, urging him not to support this effort to rush it through the House.

I also wrote to the local Tea Party movement to see if we can hit the streets this weekend.

Suggest others do the same. Commenting on a blog won't get it done.

Take no chances - take action!

The Democrats made a lot of mistakes, but their biggest mistakes were Pelosi and Waxman. Most Americans are never going to trust them and those blue dogs know that.

The second-ranking Democrat in the House says lawmakers may not be able to vote on a health care bill next week but might remain in Washington in August to complete President Barack Obama's top domestic priority.
Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland told lawmakers Friday that it might not be possible to finish the legislation, now bogged down in the Energy and Commerce Committee. Rebellious conservative-to-moderate Democrats have balked over the bill.

Hoyer suggested House leadership might keep lawmakers in Washington past their scheduled break, which is slated to begin Aug. 1.

The American Eugenics Society merged with, and moved its offices into the headquarters of the Rockefeller family's new Population Council in 1953.

A eugenics zealot in the Ernst Rudin tradition, Daniel Callahan, got a Population Council grant and continual Rockefeller family sponsorship in 1968-69 to found the Hastings Center, in Garrison, N.Y., to push euthanasia under the new title, "Bioethics."

Geneticist and evolutionary biologist Theodore Dobzhansky was simultaneously a founding director of the Hastings Center and chairman of the American Eugenics Society. Hastings founder Callahan became a director of the Eugenics Society.

The Hastings Center is now headquarters for the Obama reform agenda, still under the active leadership of emeritus president Callahan, the Hitlerian eugenist.

Peter Orszag, now the White House Budget Director, sent his deputy Philip Ellis to Hastings last May to assure the Center that "comparative effectiveness" would be the criterion for an Obama Administration's attack on respect for human life.

Regular Hastings writer Henry J. Aaron has now penned a demand for tough adherence to the comparative effectiveness doctrine. Aaron is Orszag's fellow "behavioral economist" and was Orszag's partner on the Brookings Institution team for taking down medical care and Social Security. Regular Hastings writer Anthony Culyer is research director for the British Crown's National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) the model for the Obama-Emanuel "death council." NICE runs the rationing that has already killed thousands under Britain's National Health Service.

Ezekiel Emanuel [Special Obooba Advisor for Health Policy], is a Hastings Center fellow, as is his former wife and longtime bioethics collaborator, Linda Emanuel. She set up and ran the death education initiative for the American Medical Association, sponsored by George Soros's Project on Death in America.

Ezekiel Emanuel's deputy director of the Federal Department of Bioethics, Christine Grady, is a director of the Hastings Center and a Hastings fellow.

Animal liberation guru Peter Singer is no doubt the most famous Hastings Center fellow, and founding president of the International Association of Bioethics. Singer advocates the killing of handicapped infants, to stop them from being a burden to parents and a cost to society. He believes that humans have no right to life above that of beasts, and that it may be more appropriate to do medical experiments on disabled, unconscious people than on healthy rats.

In 1980, Britain's Voluntary Euthanasia Society founded the World Federation of Right to Die Societies. They sent London Times reporter Derek Humphrey to America, to found the Hemlock Society for euthanasia and suicide.
