I had to give up with rokemronnie a couple pages ago. Debates can only go so far when one half refuses to respect even the most basic norms of a dialog. I can deal with the abbrasiveness and childish name calling, and even the silly hatred of police, but the refusal to properly attibute quotes, twisting of facts, ignoring information and points people make that are inconvenient to his narrative and the general dishonesty with which he approaches the conversation I couldn’t.

The way this government behaves, it seems like the first people to progressively disappear are not industrialists and artists but the men and women in uniform. Why is that the far left has such little respect for the people who are willing to put their lives on the line to protect them: Firefighters (Sotomayor), Soldiers (Obama wanted to make them pay for their battle injuries, the Far Left constantly demonizes them and the only thing they remember from Iraq is Abu Ghraib) and cops (Lefties sure hate cops, never saw a lefty thank a cop for their heroism in keeping the streets clean, but when one cop “misbehave” they will scream their throats out).

I wish the men and women in uniform will go on strike, just for a month, just so all these anti second amendment liberals feel what it’s like to live in an unprotected society. These blathering idiots need to be reminded, every now and then, that we don’t live in a perfect world. I bet they’ll lineup to buy guns at Wal-Mart.

Being the chair of African-American Studies for Harvard U., shouldn’t you be on a first name basis with the lead Diversity officer for the City of Cambridge Police Department? Isn’t that your business? – particularly when the treatment of minorities by police is seen as such a critical issue by those like Dr. Gates?

Harvard University SAYS they reach out to the local community. -what a joke.
