A few in my generation (when we were 18-29) voted for John Anderson…and Reagan still kicked Carter’s ass. That’s how bad Carter was….now multiply that by 1000 and you get BO.

I can offer an anecdotal for the middle class statistics. At the job I was recently laid off from a friend/coworker who voted for Obama told me awhile ago she was against universal healthcare. She’s somewhat conservative on economic issues.

The younger generation is always liberal and idealistic. When the realities of a mortgage, a heavy tax burden and a couple of kids creep into their lives; they become Conservatives by 30.

Most of the demo groups run from x0 to x9, a 10 year gap. For some reason, the “young” demo group picks up the under-20 crowd as well. But life at 18 is radically different from life at 28. Most in their late teens and early 20s are still in school, and most in their late-20s are getting settled into their careers. So I’d love to see what a breakdown of responses for the groups 18-19 vs 20-29, and 18-23 vs 24-29 would be.

Yes, ObamaCare sucks…but we had 8 years to fix healthcare and we, the GOP, did nothing (yes I know we had other priorities). Now we are criticizing and whining and rejoicing in the Dems failure…its not the way to get the GOP elected into power. I am still waiting for our great party leaders to come up with a viable alternative the majority will support.

The middle class sees their choices getting taken from them and in return getting a big bill to pay for a new government entitlement, and they don’t like it a bit.

If they phrased the question about Obamacare more honestly (“do you support having your taxes raised, your health care choices significantly reduced, and the quality of your health care significantly diminished, in order to provide millions of low-income illegal aliens with even more taxpayer-funded health care benefits than they already receive?”), the middle class would like it even less.

We’re the only group old enough to vote who completely missed out on the Carter administration.

Oh, and our parents\teachers\professors\entertainers formative years were the 60′s and 70′s.
