I hope that if the neighbors see me breaking into my own house that they call the police. And when the police show up, I will happily show my ID to say, yes, this is my house, and thank them for responding.
Then, they will probably leave a ticket on the 84 Pontiac Parisian in my driveway that doesn’t currently run.

I groaned when this was asked. The last question too, what a joke. And he basically said, “I’m not sure how much race was a factor” before going on a two minute rant about racial profiling. If he was reality-based he would have added to that “or if it was a factor at all.” He clearly assumed race was a factor.

I think the esteemed professor acted like a total tool and I believe what the police report says, but the cop shouldn’t have arrested him. Once he verified the professor was the rightful occupant, he should have just left. I think the cop was looking for a reason to arrest the guy because of the hissy fit he threw and for calling him a racist.
The DA dropped the charges, which was the right thing to do.

Handled a call or two like this reported burglary-in-progress where it turned out to be the homeowner. “Suspect” in family photos on the wall and ID says he lives here. No problem. Take care, Sir, and you’re welcome for the quick response to protect your family and valuables while you aren’t home. Call over.
Makes me wonder what the homeowner did to get locked up. I’d say that he might have ACTED STUPIDLY, but since I DON’T KNOW ALL OF THE FACTS, I won’t prejudge him.
Mr. President, try to avoid PROFILING the officer.

A guy (who happened to be black) was locked out of his house — he went around to the side of the back and tried to pry a door or window open. A neighbor saw him and called the cops. Upon the cops arrival, the man became a little indignant (not obnoxiously so, but enough to force police to take him into custody) and couldn’t prove who he was in relation to the house.
Because the guy is a) black and b) outspoken naturally he immediately started with the racial profiling bull$hit upon which the media, of course, loves to jump.
Cue the cameras, it’s time for some righteous Negro indignation everyone!
So, he’s a Harvard prof — tied in with the little clique there with Charles Ogeltree (an admitted plagiarist), Obama and that ilk.

The softball question to remind racist Americans that Ogabe is indeed black and race relations have been an issue in this nation and that perhaps a refusal to accept his healthcare scheme is race-based.
Of course Ogabe had to say “blacks….and latinos” just to make sure that he makes the aggrieved population as big as possible.
