Obama: Greedy doctors are coming after your tonsils or something
posted at 10:06 pm on July 22, 2009 by Allahpundit
Gee, I’m really sorry I decided to skip this for “Ghost Hunters.” Watching The One explain how the medical industry has designs on your body parts would have been much better in hindsight. To think: The day is coming when instead of forcing you to take unnecessary tests, doctors will force you not to take necessary ones because they no longer have the resources to process them. Take that, profit motive.
This is what happens when you take health advice from a guy with a lifelong smoking habit. Exit question: Any truth to the rumor that Obama’s going to impose a new surtax on fatties? “But let me be clear: The time has come to put away the fudge.”

AP…nice cheap shot at smokers, thanks.
It matters not to me if Obama smokes or not, what matters is his strident intent on nationalizing health care.

You should match this clip up with the one you posted recently, where, asked a question about an old lady who had . . . a heart problem, I think, he said, take some painkillers — with this one —
GTR640 on July 22, 2009 at 10:25 PM
Reduce the administrative costs with 31 new government agencies? I don’t think so. BTW, did anyone tell O about the CBO report that says the cost of health care won’t go down but the quality will?
I’m SOOO glad I didn’t have to watch this guy tonight. You get there will be changes and NO your doctor won’t get to make decisions without government dictates. Don’t you believe it. Anyone that’s been through Military, Medicare or Veterans health care knows all about government health rules books and it has NOTHING to do with what’s best for the patient and everything to do with cost.

elduende on July 22, 2009 at 10:26 PM
The “profit motive” that BHO demonizes is what brings us the best health care in the world:
1) Many of the best health practitioners in the world come to the US to make a lot of money. When we become socialized, they’ll stay in Taiwan and India and France. And some of our best will retire or emigrate or find other professions.
2) US drug companies and medical device makers lead the world in innovation by a country mile. Why? Because the ones who invent better treatments make a lot of money. When we become socialized, only politically fashionable maladies like AIDS and breast cancer will get research funding, and even then the emphasis will be to find cheaper ways of treating the sick, not better.

Would someone tell me when was the last time a pediatrician performed a tonsillectomy? You take your kid to the pedia for a sore throat. If the kid has repeated bouts of tonsillitis, removal might be called for, but it’s done by a surgeon not the pediatrician. How does the pediatrician make money from the insurance company on this? Has the President never taken his girls to their pediatrician for strep? For him not to know what any other parent knows shows he’s either ben incredibly lucky with his girls, or he’s not been involved as a dad. Or he lied tonight.

For the bazillionth time, he again told the nation that “the stars are aligned..” for his healthcare boondoggle.
Let’s see, the last time the stars were aligned, it was for banking industry snafu. Then they aligned again for the demolition of the auto industry, then they aligned yet again for the stimulus bill that stimulated nothing, then again for cap and tax, and now they are once again lined up for B.O.-care.
Proof yet again why no one should take astrology seriously.

For those of you, Allah, who openly wonder why someone like me, Jaibones, would repeatedly suggest that Obama is a fu*king idiot, despite the hosannas that rain down upon him from all quarters, I say this:
Nothing that I have ever heard from George W. Bush – nothing; not strategery; nothing – makes less sense than what this bonehead just spewed in that video. I know it’s hard to be the pimp he wants to be when TOTUS isn’t available, but come on.
