Boehner to Emanuel: Hey, thanks for “rescuing” the economy
posted at 4:02 pm on July 22, 2009 by Allahpundit
Two vids, one from last night and the other from this morning, anticipating The One’s mind-boggling forthcoming assertion at tonight’s presser that Obamanomics is working. The second clip barely captures the extent of yesterday’s message discipline, actually: More than 100 House Republicans took to the floor to pose the question of the hour, leading to an uncharacteristic Steny Hoyer tantrum in response. The first clip is self-explanatory but reminds me why, in spite of everything, I can’t help liking Rahm Emanuel just a tiny bit. Imagine the elephant balls you’d need to blow $800 billion on a failed stimulus and then turn around and tell the New York Times you’re a big success. Unemployment at 9.5 percent and climbing, $23 trillion potentially spent to fix the economy, and this galactic tool has the stones to raise the “Mission Accomplished” banner over the U.S.S. Hopenchange. You’re welcome, America.

This is what a minority party is supposed to look like.
Teeth and claws, give ‘em hell attitude, dig in the heels and spit in their eyes.
Now, how do we get the RINOs in the Senate to catch it?

Yeah, toe shoes and a pink tutu will do that to an atheist.

Mind-boggling is the word for it.
Good lord, if walks out there tonight and actually makes a claim anywhere close to that I think we’ll have to start questioning his vertical hold.
Well, even more than we already have been….that is.

Love it!
Still, no matter brazen he is, I do NOT admire Rahm. He and the boys from Chicago are ruining the country.

Boehner is holding the line. He is also counterattacking. He has to be supported, in words and voice. He needs to hear our support both in DC and at home. He needs to know he has a little wind at his back and political momentum.

If you haven’t read Jim Demint’s book–”Saving Freedom” get a copy. It is a great followon to “Liberty and Tyranny”
those are mandatory on the conservatives reading list.
“common sense” also.
ted c on July 22, 2009 at 4:14 PM
The GOP Congressmen actually seem to be functioning as an opposition party, unlike the Senate GOP. Boehner isn’t perfect but IMHO he is doing very well leading the minority party under difficult circumstances. He would certainly have my vote and support if I lived in his district.

I suspect a boatload of strawman arguments tonight–fundamentally mischaracterizing the opposition to the socialization of medicine. By disingenuously using the term “health care reform” the statist liberal fashions anyone who opposes his socialized plan as being against “reform.”
I take offense to those tactics and call bS on them.

lasertex on July 22, 2009 at 4:28 PM
I hope they don’t overplay this… if we get to 10.5% unemployment by fall… there may very well be a slight recovery in Spring 2010 dropping unemployment back closer to 9.5%… the Dems will claim full victory.
FDR got away with masking a HORRIBLE economy by showcasing small “victories” because the economy had essentially hit bottom. he didn’t get the US out of the Depression, he just claimed victory for ANYTHING good.
