We’re back up!
posted at 9:45 am on July 21, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
Both Hot Air and Michelle Malkin sites were down from the wee hours of the morning until just a little while ago. This was human error and corrected as quickly as possible, and both sites are now humming at max efficiency. We got a lot of suggestions about what may have caused the problem, but I can tell you that we weren’t hacked — and Amazon didn’t throw our sites down the Kindle hole, either, a joke which a few people sent me on Twitter.
We’re sorry for the inconvenience. We’ll wear the Cone of Shame for it, and we pro — squirrel!

So good to know that you were not hacked, whacked,or sacked. I was having withdrawels. LOL.
you are forgiven on human error. : )

Tell AP to back off on the Palin and Meghan McCain posts – I think you had two running at the same time, which caused the meltdown.

It’s strange-the first reaction I had was the government shut it down. I guess I’m paranoid

Thought you got a cease and desist order from the ACLU or something.

Almost had terminal withdrawal this morning.
Gremlins, or DHS and DoJ sending a “message” to a blog that is not fully imbued with the Obama philosophy?

I was thinking more along the lines of an ACORN subsidiary. Dear Leader does not want blood on His hands, yet. Far better to have some “misguided but well meaning” youthful activist do it and take the fall.

That was my reaction also, or maybe some ACORN thugs ;)
MidWestFarmer on July 21, 2009 at 11:00 AM
The timing with Michelle’s new book just coming out seemed almost too coincidental. I thought it the problem was a DOS attack.
Glad it was nothing more than human error! Sure would hate to lose HA longer than actually happened…..withdrawals are no fun at all! lol!

I’m glad that I’m not on the East Coast, the 2 hr. difference made my withdrawal short-lived.

I was despondent when I fired up the laptop early this morning over breakfast… then again when I arrived at the office. I can come in off the ledge now!

I just assumed some foolish hacker got in and caused a little problem…or you were updating.
One of those, it won’t be a problem, just hit the “upgrade” button and everything will work just fine, never had a problem before…

Scared the living crap out of me Ed!
I had no HotAir this morning and no Fox News either.
I was positive our Precedent shut it all down especially when I saw that my MSNBC was coming in loud and clear.

I had the rope tied around my neck and had kicked the bucket out from under me… fortunately, my mom came downstairs and found me in time. She’s upstairs making me a ham sandwich for lunch. I’ve got to change my underwear.

You have to duct tape those cords to the floor or, as you see, someone’s gonna trip over them. :-) Glad you’re back. (I was startin’ to get the shakes.)

It was caused by a momentary upflux of CO2 in the inner gammasphere. Should be okay for a while, but don’t hold your breath.

The local radio station that carries Glenn Beck was off the air at the same time this morning. I figgered The Messiah was on a rampage.

S**t, you guys scared the hell out of me. Guess I can chuck this tinfoil helmet.
Thought the messiah declared martial law or somethin.

I was afraid I’d been banned for some reason–not just banned from commenting, but banned from even visiting the site.
But I knew I was innocent, so I drew the logical conclusion: The WH has begun its crackdown on dissent. (:

madmonkphotog on July 21, 2009 at 1:18 PM
Ha, my first thought too. I think we’re all getting a little paranoid. I guess we need to stop speaking our minds about our own country.
I pictured Michelle sitting on a mat in a non-descript room with two imams and Obama sitting beside her discussing whether it would be hard labor or decapitation.

Hey, at least they’d all be brought to term!
Glad you’re back on the intertubes! It was a tough time, looking for my Hot Air and finding only a cool breeze.

I thought I had been banned.
Well I have said a few stupid things and due to my catholic upbringing I was riddled with guilt. I am so glad it was an HA server problem, not that I would wish HA to have problems.

Those “humans” weren’t in D.C. or N. Korea were they? Stuff like this gets my trigger finger twitchin’.
Cybergeezer on July 21, 2009 at 4:46 PM
I’m in South Korea. The thought crossed my mind that my liberal coworker teachers had both sites banned. They are very nice, but the thought still crossed my mind.
Government blackout also crossed my mind.
Issues with the servers was the third thing that crossed my mind after I came home and found I couldn’t get to either site. At which point, I was hoping that Michelle had a nice contract that would compensate her for the downtime.
Glad you’re back.

There was some specualtion that 911 Conspiracy Freaks had hacked Hotair for including the video that busts Ron Paul…good to see those pathetic idiot cowards didn’t cause anymore problems that they already have.
