Ramirez: The man behind health-care reform

posted at 12:57 pm on July 21, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

Michael Ramirez hits gold again in “The House Call”, his look at the proposed “reform” of health care in the US by Barack Obama.  The thinking at the heart of this plan comes straight out of socialist thought.  If we proceed along this path, we’re all going to have the look on our faces that matches Lady Liberty’s:

Ramirez has a terrific collection of his works: Everyone Has the Right to My Opinion, which covers the entire breadth of Ramirez’ career, and it gives a fascinating look at political history.  Read my review here, and watch my interviews with Ramirez here and here.  And don’t forget to check out the entire IBD site, while individual investors still exist.

It’s about time that people started using “Marxism,” in their depictions or comments about Obama. When Conservatives use euphemisms like “liberal,” or “progressive,” they do the bidding of the Socialists that want to take our country over, demolish it, and re-make it into another failed Socialist state.

Call them what they are – Socialists and Communists.

OhEssYouCowboys on July 21, 2009 at 1:13 PM

I wonder where Dr. K. Marx went to medical school.

darwin on July 21, 2009 at 1:16 PM

People are actually starting to not flinch quite so much at my use of more pointed terms. Socialist, marxist, communists, they mean more to people than liberal, progressive and democrat. And people without strong socialist biases are starting to see the truth.

Is that Garcia of the Grateful Dead come back from The Dead to administer health care to the people?

If it is perhaps Obambi will knight Garcia as drug Czar, if he does it will be the only intelligent appointment the Obama admin has made as Garcia was an expert when it came to drugs!

Although the down side is that we’d have the un-dead as a czar (not much different than some of the living czar stiffs we have now) that and there would be no drugs left for those needing them as Garcia would be hoarding/taking all of them!

Talk about rationing!

Liberty or Death on July 21, 2009 at 1:22 PM

Thanks for coming over, Dr. Marx, but your patient died two years ago.

I’m finding it increasingly difficult to tell this administration apart from the stuff I’m seeing on The People’s Cube.

TheUnrepentantGeek on July 21, 2009 at 1:25 PM

Only one problem with the cartoon – he’s using a clean glove. In the Socialist Utopia, gloves will be too expensive. Chances are, they will be used more than once. Just like hypodermic needles in the Soviet Union.

OhEssYouCowboys on July 21, 2009 at 1:30 PM

Obama need to be tied to this, not some long-dead old white guy.

Obama is the one who called for this and got elected to get it done. People need to know that the guy in office is what they voted for, and the Democrats and the Media has been lying to you this whole time. Thats the only way democrats can push their Agenda…lie about it and rely on the MSM to not ask any tough questions. Hell, Canada has the healthcare system that Obama and the D’s are trying to fool us into inflicting on our country. I have yet to see a single MSM special on what healthcare in other countries is like while we are nosediving into that same shallow pool.

Yeah it’s a funny cartoon, but it doesn’t go far enough.

It’s so much fun, he’ll prescribe prostate exams for women.

I’ll bet that 75% of the cattle, munching in the fields, have never even heard of Karl Marx.

THAT is why the Socialists took over the public school system.

Whats really not funny is thinking about how this dupus even got elected.

If I’m remembering correctly, Marx had pretensions of being an intellectual, but ended up working as a janitor.

Can someone tell me why the hotair.com site only allows you to share via Facebook instead of the previous direct email sharing option? I am not on Facebook and have no interest in a Facebook account. http://www.michellemalkin.com still allows the user to use a direct email sharing option.

Thanks.

Karl Marx couldn’t even manage that!

He couldn’t hold a steady job for the life of him!

He sponged off of his family’s wealth for his whole life almost.

If he were alive today… he’d be sponging off of welfare.

To hear what Senate Republicans have to say about health care check out “The Senate Doctors Show.” The two doctors in the U.S. Senate, Tom Coburn (R-OK) and John Barrasso (R-WY) are talking to the public about health care policy You can watch it on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 pm ET. Check it out here.

Disclaimer: I work for the Senate Republican Conference.

It’s about time someone mentioned Karl Marx, the leading philosophical light of the hard-left ideologues who have successfully suborned the Democratic Party. That ‘He Who Shall Not Be Named’ business regarding Karl Marx and the true motivations of our adversaries was getting on my nerves. And I’ve never been one for euphemisms, either. ‘Health Care Reform’ is socialized medicine. ‘Cap-and-trade’ legislation is government takeover of the energy industry using the flimsiest of pretexts. ‘Stimulus’ was never meant to serve its publicly stated purpose as as a job creator or economic recovery package. The purpose of these monies was and is to pay off Dem interest groups and voting blocs and to pump money into the districts of like-minded Democrat incumbents just prior to the 2010 elections, consolidating and advancing Dem gains made during the last election.

All of this is glaringly obvious, to be sure, but we of the loyal opposition need to shed our misconceptions and realize we are not facing the traditional Democratic Party we knew, nor are we facing wishy-washy, eurostyle ‘Social Democrats’, either. What we are facing is a dedicated leadership cadre shielding its goals and source motivations behind euphemisms, semantic sleight-of-hand, and the trappings of politics-as-usual. To them, we are not the ‘loyal opposition’. To them, we are the enemy.

That is why they use such terms as liberal and progressive. People do not recognize what the words mean. The baby boomers do know what Marxist and Communist mean. They were rasied on those terms. Socialism has sort of been washed and hung out with the European light versions. Time to start using Marxist and Communist as well as far left socialism; terms that are better understood in their true meaning.

Seven Percent Solution on July 21, 2009 at 3:11 PM

It is said 5% of patients use up 50% of health care dollars. I do not know if that is true or not, but I will assume it is.

I want everyone to have the best possible health care, but I know that is not possible. There will always be haves and have nots. But what Obama and his Democratic cronies want to focus on is fairness (although there is nothing fair in class warfare)

Yet Obama and the Dems ignore which system provides the highest benefits to the most people.
