Why is it we can send a man to the moon but 40-years after that historic event we still have celebrities like Whoopi who can’t properly enunciate as simple a word as “ask?” Maybe the simpleton who called Aldrin a liar and coward should “axe” that question of Goldberg and her obnoxious friend Joy.

Regarding conspiracies: Chuck Colson has written how his involvement in the (unsuccessful) conspiracy to cover up the Nixon / Watergate scandal led him to more easily accept the reality of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the tomb, then appearing to hundreds of witnesses.

Just as the Apostles couldn’t conspire to keep something secret (like the alleged hiding the body of the Jesus), Colson found it impossible to hide the truth of his own involvement in the scandal. Colson became a believer, and saw the evidence for the resurrection.

Once I read Colson’s comments, I shed my old thinking on the wild conspiracies of the JFK assassination that was so fascinating to me in the early 1970s.

My father (retired from North American/Rockwell) was confronted by a family member who basically said the same thing as this little turd.

It was fun to watch the ol’ man case-by-case take the guy apart:
- They brought back moon rocks that were then distrubuted to geologists at independent universities around the world. How were those faked?
- The unidirectional radio antenna located in Australia was used to receive the signals from the moon AS IT WAS POINTED AT THE MOON when North America was facing away. How was that faked?
- NASA is a non-military, entity comprised of hundreds of thousands of independent contractors and manufacturers who each built a component. Surely ONE of them would find something fishy? How could a conspiracy cover so many people?

-there were others.

and finally, the coup de gras:
- With the complexity of such a conspiracy, wouldn’t it have been a whole lot easier to just go to the damn moon?

Soviets suffering major setbacks to their announced (by Khrushchev) plan to reach the moon and Mars before the Americans…

Now, anyone in their right mind would understand that had we “faked it” the Soviets would have been all over it. They had the monitoring capability. They would have had a perfectly good reason to make sure the rest of the world knew we never landed on the moon.

Yet, from the Soviets? Nope. Not a word.

Enough for me, just on that little gem alone.

We went. We walked. Wish we’d have kept up the effort.

Truthers. Sheez. Several years ago, a colleague mentioned a movie, The Philadelphia Experiment, and how it was, in his opinion, actually based on facts & not fiction. He said he had elderly neighbors who actually knew WWII navy vets that could corroborated the truth. I don’t know which is more disturbing, that I somehow missed the fact that these “Mooners” existed or that there are actually people out there who believe this crap. Ok, I just answered my own question, I don’t know the heck I avoided hearing about these people!!
Love the video of Buzz Aldrin punching that guy, I would have liked to have seen a few more seconds though.
