Medicare actually “was” a working program until the passing of the Kennedy Kassebaum bill in the 80’s. After the passing of this regulation the billing for pathology, anesthesia, , xrays, laboratory, etc related services provided in a hospital setting was outlawed which forced the doctors to bill separately and independently for their services, then to collect the uncovered amounts through collection agencies. This bill ruined the medicare system and started the decline of the healthcare industry. Do you really want a second round of this to completely destroy the private healthcare industry totally, it will happen with this current legislation. This legislation does not need to pass.
