On my desk: Culture of Corruption

Ever feel like you can’t keep track of all the shady characters in the Barack Obama without a scorecard? Consider that problem resolved, courtesy of the boss. Michelle Malkin gives readers a great read — and a handy reference guide — in Culture of Corruption: Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks, and Cronies. As David Freddoso’s The Case Against Barack Obama outlined Obama’s shady political connections and provided a history for American voters that the media mostly refused to cover, Michelle’s book gives readers the run-down on the team Obama has assembled to bring Hope and Change to the US — but whose track records indicate that we can expect Chicago-sur-le-Potomac instead.
Culture of Corruption will go on sale on July 27th, but you can place your orders now through Amazon and have it on the first day of release.

Looks like a great book, but the book I’m waiting for is going to expose what Pres. Obama did in his years at law school that he can’t quite seem to recall. I think that will make an interesting read, and I’m sure someone is working on it.

Heard Laura Ingraham talking to Michelle about it. Sounds like a timely and important read.

The book I’d to see is one that shows the eugenics movement in the 30’s, the eugenics movement of the 70’s, to todays crop of eugenics freaks filling out this Administration today. ala Holdren ex. Otherwise Michelle’s book looks like a good read. We need all the help we can get out here keeping up with these criminals.

And be ready to ask the cashier if they had something bad for lunch since they will most certainly have a sneer on their face.
behiker on July 19, 2009 at 2:52 PM
You know, I just can’t read any more books like this. Mark Levin’s was my last for awhile. It’s simply too depressing. I read. I agree. And so what? 52% of the country decided Obama was their guy — along with huge majorities in Congress — so there’s nothing we can do about it. I guess I just don’t need to be told anymore what an inept, corrupt loser our president is. I know that. I knew it last November, and I know it now. There isn’t a damn thing I or anyone else can do except wait for the next election…or perhaps the next one after that. It really is like watching a slow motion train wreck, and you’re just too far away to stop it.

Marcus, I always love to ask for help in Barnes and Noble and then tell the clerk I am looking for Dick Morris’ new book and watch his/her lip quiver and they get that little twitch on their chin when they show me the pile of books. Now I will really feel good asking for Michelle’s new book.

Upstater85 on July 19, 2009 at 2:57 PM
I wonder if the book will out line all of Obama’s campaign promises……….
………… and how he has broken every one of them?
Seven Percent Solution on July 19, 2009 at 2:58 PM
Fantastic Idea…but the people that we need to reach, don’t know how to read.
Congrats, Michelle, as usual, you are timely and brilliant!
HornetSting on July 19, 2009 at 2:59 PM
not all voters are Rep’s or Dem’s, but often the argument is 50% voted this way or that…which dismisses every other vote against both parties.
Ozprey on July 19, 2009 at 2:59 PM
Well, not the “Yes we can!” one. Although given his current attitude, it should have been “Oh yes we can!”
Upstater85 on July 19, 2009 at 3:00 PM
No, but the point is that approximately 52% of those that voted in the last election picked Barry as their man.
Upstater85 on July 19, 2009 at 3:00 PM
We can thank big bro for that.

Who is Van Jones?
This is a truly profound question, similar to that of “who is John Galt” because the answer exposes a greater truth beyond identity of one man.
If you can answer this question you will understand the state of the modern environmentalism movement.
You will know the true man Obama is.
And you will see with frightening clarity the fate of the free world.
Tick tock..
Ed Graef on July 19, 2009 at 3:07 PM
I agree. I’m referring to the process that leaves about a third of people disgruntled, dismayed, or apathetic to start with. The elections are always gonna be about the 2 parties these days. But a lot of folks have been pushed out of the process long before election day. It’s not THE point, just a point.
Ozprey on July 19, 2009 at 3:08 PM
Lemme guess, Van Jones is another watermelon–greenie on the outside, red to the core.
Has he been crowned Czar yet?
Special K on July 19, 2009 at 3:10 PM
He cited “the country” and you are citing those that voted, is all……..semantics I know, I apologize ;-)
Ozprey on July 19, 2009 at 3:11 PM
Eh… if some of them started actually writing names in or voting for the 3rd, 4th, or 5th candidate, I might sympathize with the individual “independent” voter.
I do agree though that the process is not the best.
Upstater85 on July 19, 2009 at 3:11 PM

Never forget that Bambi promised that if his Stimulus Bill wasn’t passed the unemployment rate would reach 9% in 2010.
It’s a safe bet Bambi’s college years were mostly spent smoking rope, snorting coke and an occasional phone call to the Set-Asides Records Office to be sure they were keeping his grades up.

That’s about 200 pages per month in office. I don’t know, can you squeeze it all into that?

Jonah Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism (2007) deals with eugenics as I recall. Great read and highly recommended (along with America Alone (2006) by Mark Steyn, another great NRO contributor).

I know what you mean. Every time I go into a B&Ns to look for a conservative book, the clerk either glares at me or tries to steer me to a more liberal book. I usually just laugh and tell them they just lost a book sale and then order online.
Pathetic little idiots.

This is one book I will not pass up!
jencab on July 19, 2009 at 3:51 PM
I’ll buy it. Going to Barnes and Noble to get it. I never have a problem buying any books there, no hint of attitude. Maybe because I’m scary to the help. I do flip the liberal trash upside down though once in awhile for a cheap thrill.
I read the Jerome Corsi book on “Dear Leader” and figured every word must be true since he wasn’t sued for slander. The SOB got elected anyway. Most people I talked to that voted for the Communist say they did because of the novelty of the first black President. They’re regretting it now, as they for the most part are unemployed. I would have voted for a green guy if it meant keeping a Commie out of the White House. Oh well.

Any chance Oprah will put this in her Book Club? Anyone? Anyone?

Purchasing politically incorrect books from stores staffed with self-righteous, sneering liberals I count as one of the great joys of life. I’ll never forget ordering Bernstein’s “Capitalist Manifesto” from Borders Books in New York. The guy behind the counter visibly winced when I said the name. He repeated it back to me and said “You’re sure?,” in his bestest tone of sarcasm.
“Damn straight,” I said, “just order me the book.”
The last time I bought an Ann Coulter book from Barnes and Noble the cashier refused to hand me my change, instead she slammed it on the counter with her head turned theatrically to one side. I just wish moments like that could be bottled.

I bought a copy of Glenn Beck’s “Common Sense” last week at Costco – had to ask where it was, and the store clerk said they couldn’t keep them in stock…with a smile. Gave up on B&N and Borders a long time ago. Thankfully, either Overstock or Amazon sell online with a smile too!
Can’t wait to read our MM’s new book. Endorsements by Levin and Steyn are very cool. Hoping she sells millions and upsets the whackjobs to no end.

It’ll be fun.

OK, Al Gore is real high on carbon offsets for carbon emissions; how about starting Corruption Offsets, for all the conflict of interest, graft and other shenanigans being pulled by our current administration and Democratically controlled Congress? I would like more than just a six pack and a comedy act (the current class of clowns would be OK if the ramifications of their acts weren’t so frustrating); I would like a ritualistic tar-and-feathering of some of these crooks, for starters.

I understand the problems we have with Washington, but It is what we made it. When conservative bloggers took Obama lightly by making excuses for his action (naivete), and “moderate” republicans voted for the goon, we have no one to blame.
Even though the MSM ran cover for him and his lackies, a good many people knew about his history, and still voted for him. You can’t bury your head in the sand and hope the bad man goes away.

The thing is, I love B&N and Borders and faux Coffee culture and Urban feeling. I have a goatee and getting horn-rimmed glasses. And my views are a complete 180 of their views, which is fun. I strolled merrily up the aisle to bestsellers in January, got Ann Coulter’s newest, and walked cooly up the check-out counter, coupon in hand. The cashier was probably dying inside and sighed as he handed me the reseipt. It’s even more fun when you seem like one of them, and you disappoint them.
