A very good reason for the appointment could be international relations... What's one of if not the biggest fears about a nuclear Iran? Destruction of Israel. Now (assuming Mashai is still in), IDJ can point to him to say, he likes Israel, and he's very highly placed in the Government. All it would take to appease the hard line anti-semites, would be IDJ telling them this. IF the hardliners recant and say they're cool w/ Mashai, that's when you should really get scared.

I believe there is much going on in Iran politically, but that does not change the fact that it is a repressive regime. Let`s be honest, does anyone REALLY think the Iranian people are going to get some big dose of freedom out all of this in the foreseeable future? I would not bet on it. What we do know is that Iran is continuing its nuclear program with backing by our good friend from N.Korea. The best thing that can be done for the world is the destruction of nuclear facilities in both countries. The North Korean regime will collapse much more readily than its Iranian counterpart. The desire for unification of Korea is great among many Koreans. After bombing NK nukes and verifying their destruction, then it would be time to acquaint his Illness with a few precision strikes. I digress, but we should expect NO change in NK, and should expect very little IF ANY real change in Iran. What is the common factor are the nukes n` crazies at the switch. Need to remove both in NK and the former in Iran.

One of my favorite scenes from the Godfather:

Michael: You have to answer for Santino, Carlo. You fingered Sonny for the Barzini people
Carlo Rizzi: Mike, you got it all wrong.
Michael: Ah, that little farce you played with my sister. You think that would fool a Corleone?
Carlo Rizzi: Mike, I'm innocent. I swear on the kids.
Michael: Sit down.
Carlo Rizzi: Please don't do this to me, Mike. Please don't.
Michael: Barzini is dead. So is Phillip Tattallgia. Moe Green. Slacci. Cuneo. Today I settled all family business so don't tell me that you're innocent. Admit what you did.
[Carlo starts sobbing]
Michael: Get him a drink. Don't be afraid, Carlo. Come on, you think I'd make my sister a widow? I'm Godfather to your son.
[Carlo get handed a drink]
Michael: Go ahead. Drink. Drink. No, you're out of the family business, that's your punishment. You're finished. I'm putting you on a plane to Vegas. Tom?
[Tom hands Michael an airplane ticket]
Michael: I want you to stay there, you understand?
[Carlo nods]
Michael: Only don't tell me that you're innocent. Because it insults my intelligence and it makes me very angry. Now, who approached you first? Barzini or Tattalgia?
Carlo Rizzi: It was Barzini.
Michael: Good. There's a car outside that will take you to the airport. I'll call your wife and tell her what flight you're on.
Carlo Rizzi: Listen, Mike...
Michael: Go on. Get out of my sight.

I sure hope the Iranian Regime Team meetings goes this well when the offing of their insiders goes down. Maybe we can send them a copy of the 1972 movie of the Godfather. It couldn't hurt.

Secret part-Jew appoints open Jew-lover!

This will only help unsnarl the mullahs' and ayatollahs' dictatorship through hysterical internal divisions.

Hang the theocratic bastards, Persian people!

Free yourselves while there is a chance!

The "80% dictatorship" must end!

Rope + despots = Liberty!

As I said yesterday I'm not buying the crisis in Iran. Oh sure there are protesters in the streets and 100's of innocents being tortured and killed but I'm starting to think this whole thing is being orchestrated. The protesters are being played by the rulers.

Since when has Iran ever allowed opposition? Hell, they walk down the street beating women for sport. Something is fishy here.

If we had a revolution in this country and Obama sent the National Guard out after us, do you think they’d come and shoot us? or even arrest us? Just askin’

jeanie on July 19, 2009 at 12:16 PM
It depends.

If they come to arrest someone and they get hit Waco style then yes - they’ll shoot back.

If they come at unarmed protesters then no.

I read jeanie's comment and then your response, and keep thinking about Kent State. Sometimes things can spiral out of control.

***
Why would Dinnerjacket--the Iranian Hitler--care about what anyone else thought?
***
The real Hitler just had his opponents killed, tortured, or sent off to die on the Eastern front. Iran has the stonings, floggings, amputations, hangings, shootings, prisons, etc. to take care of his opponents.
***
Deja Vu all over again--"smart power" doesn't work against criminal despots. The existence of "moderates" in Iran is just KABUKI THEATER to give President Obama (PBUH) and Hillary an excuse to do nothing except to talk while they build their nukes.

I'd like to see the ruling mullahs have Ahmadinejad drawn and quartered. Anything so we don't have to look at that grease stained face of his anymore. Has the guy ever taken a bath in his life?

Apparently dinnerjacket had the Farsi language version of Chavez's 'Elections for Tyrants'

Just as Zelaya had the Spanish edition. For further details:

Will there be reprinting in English, and will Carter write the 'glowing' foreword? Stay tuned for further details...

President Chutes&Ladders' stellar foreign diplomacy standard rubber stamp statement when any hope for democracy in the world might pop it's head out from a totalitarian regime.

Or at Chucky Cheese more fondly known as Whack-a-Mole game!

Get your heads down in those holes you crazy Iranian peoples! And by the way, are you people in Honduras watching? This too could be you!
