Hate to say it but I want him to succeed and then have something happen on American soil as a result. The filthy liar in the White House refuses to listen to the public on anything. Let’s let him have his little moment by closing GITMO (where he has already lied since he campaigned on the idea that the terrorists would be on planes home by the time inaguration day was over). Then the American public can see what arrogance and incompetence they wreaked on the US by electing this rat bastard traitor.

All that would do is cause another ‘emergency’ for this crew of arrogant commies to push through more wrongly named legislation (Employee Free Choice Act – exactly the opposite, Troubled Asset Relief Program – lol, and finally the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act – ROTFLMAO!!!). Remember, we are living in bizzaro world now!

What is it with this idiotic notion that bringing them to ‘American soil’ will somehow make us unsafe? Its pure kak. Put them in a maximum security prison and forget about them. They do need to be tried and found guilty, however. They need to get on with the military tribunals or something. Holding people without charge for years on end is unAmerican and we can do better.

Are you guaranteeing a 100% conviction rate? How? If they are being held on American soil while on trial and they are found not guilty – where do you release them?

At Gitmo there is a wonderful ocean and a whole bunch of troops guaranteeing their incarceration.
Prisons are known for riots and breakouts and we have a bunch of Muslims here in the states who may want to try and break them out (see conference going on in Chicago suburb this weekend for proof ) and then their is the whole “this place is inhumane” and foreign governments saying “you can’t treat our citizens that way, but we don’t want them” lawsuits that will go before some crazy judge who listens to these assanine arguments and let’s them go.
And then on top of that there are vital secrets to protect which in trial we may be forced to disclose because they will use our disclosure laws against us. Read Andrew McCarthy’s book “Willful Blindness” and open your mind to the problems we will face if we do bring them here.

I agree with the sentiment but that means some American’s who didn’t vote for this loser will be injured or killed. I am quite willing to move from rhetoric to armed action if necessary. But if I have to take up arms it will be my life I am willing to risk.

The Senator’s point about these 17 proposed locations becoming a magnet for terrorists is exactly right. Why everyone focuses on the “escape” factor instead I don’t know.

Yes, magnets for terrorists AND fertile grounds for conversion to militant Islam stateside, cultivating domestic terrorists.

Given our lax open borders, not only our prisons but our ways and means of transportation would come under attack all the more.

At the drop of a hat? Keeping terrorists in prison is the only sane thing, and GITMO is the most secure and perfectly designed sanitized arena for these terrorists to remain segregated from the world. It’s established, they do not fall into the Geneva Convention umbrella.

The entire issue of prosecution requires evidence that the defense would argue access to, revealing sensitive material weakening national security. True enough, Gitmo is the best place for the trials should they be pursued, and they should be military tribunals, not civil. But Obama calling the shots, given what should be and what is, here we are.

Agreed that we should try them. But I don’t want them in the US prison system spreading their religious ideology.

And do we have room in the prison system? Around here, you can steal a car and not do serious time because there’s no room.

I’m disappointed not to see the signature of self-proclaimed “fiscally responsible” Rep.Harry Mitchell D-AZ (preceded by J.D.Hayworth).

I’m equally disappointed to see Giffords representing Tucson having taken a paltry $2K bribe to defy science and proclaim the world flat with Gore.

Indefinite detention without trial seems like unnecessary bad PR to me. Give them counsel, give them a trial, and if convicted, either sentence them to hard time or string them up.
