New ad: Dems hit Palin, Crist for … not serving out their full terms

I don’t know where to begin. For starters, the ad’s called “Quitters” — but Crist hasn’t quit. His term runs out in 2011, around the time he’ll be sworn in as senator if he wins the Florida election. But never mind that. The Democrats running this spot less than a year after The One was elected is kind of like Republicans running an ad claiming that being governor of California isn’t relevant presidential experience circa 1981. Not only did Obama quit his Senate seat mid-term to assume the presidency, he was famously absent for scores of floor votes during the few years he did serve because he was too busy chasing his own ambition. And all that after declaring in 2004, shortly before he was sworn in as a senator, that the only way he could run for president in 2008 is if he started campaigning immediately — which he essentially proceeded to do. (See the second clip below for a refresher.) Which state’s voters got the bigger shaft — Alaska’s, via a governor who stepped aside so that someone could take over the position full time, or Illinois’s, via a guy who couldn’t be bothered to show up to work for weeks at a time?

This plays perfectly to the basic Dem constituency~ uninformed, incurious boobs who will swallow any ansurdity or specious slander, happily. as long as it reinforces their kneejerk stupidity and motivates their puling venality.
A brilliant ad, in that sense.
profitsbeard on July 17, 2009 at 5:37 PM
Quite simply this is a trial balloon by Obama and his merry men and women to see if this strategy will have an effect or impact on Sarah Palin’s poll numbers with respect to her standing in her base or among independents or moderates.
This is why it is important that once Sarah Palin begins to blaze trails throughout the lower 48 that she be seen as working tirelessly and demonstrate an unflagging commitment to serving the needs of the national GOP and the its members as the 2010 midterms soon approach.
The quitting label IMHO cannot be successfully attached to anyone who is always giving 100% for her team, plays to the final whistle with focused intensity and never gives up.

I have no desire to watch it, it’s Friday and I just finished working. But I have two feelings here; 1) Rage that the democrats would mention Palin in the same ad with that dirtbag crist and 2) Glee that the left are attacking one of their own.

Looters looting the loot from the fools who give it to them.

I’m trying real hard to be objective, and I think this is one of the worst ads I’ve ever seen.
thebadoutlaw on July 17, 2009 at 5:54 PM
I got a theory. I really think that ShankRoid, Drywall and AnninCA (among others) are either Allah or some one he’s hired to stir $hit up..
Stupidity of that magnitude has to be on purpose…

Since Ayotte is in the vid, Im going to say that I’m glad she’s the one going after Gregg’s seat. She’s well respected and liked here in NH and is a good choice.

Wow, still only 2 comments.

This is really pathetic.
I noticed the ad was paid for by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
That’s Schmucky Chuck-U Schumer(A$$-NY)

Why the long face, Communist ketchup boy?
Brian1972 on July 17, 2009 at 6:17 PM
Sad to say, our state has been over-run by getalifes from Massachusetts. I hope Ayotte wins, but based on the election of Carole Che-Porter, I’m not popping the cork on the champagne just yet.

Everyone knows Charlie Crist is a democrat. They are the ones doing the fund raisers for him.

Ah yes. We have moved on from the tired partisan politics of old Washington and have moved on to newer and better things…. NOT.
Change you can stick a fork in.

That is the lamest add ever. Pure poisoning the well. Republicans with fingers crossed behind their backs? The DNC is full of nothing but 5th grade bullies.
shick on July 17, 2009 at 6:45 PM
5th grade bullies that were held back a couple of times for trying to get everyone else to pay for their lunch.
Not good at math.

Ignore what I said yesterday…
mankai on July 17, 2009 at 7:00 PM
Does their oath of office even include “serving out your full term”? I don’t believe that’s part of their oath of office.
If THAT’S how they’re going to go after her with the ‘quitter’ attack, I can see now that its not going to work.
LiquidH2O on July 17, 2009 at 7:04 PM
They’re moderating comments on the video. Well, anything other than high praise for such an awesome video. Kinda like how Obama treats the press…
Nethicus on July 17, 2009 at 7:08 PM
Just wait until she is loose in the lower 48, hitting them between the eyes over and over again, in that relentlessly charming manner she has. In front of thousands at a time.
This will be fun, watching the libs freak out at her determination.
She ain’t no quitter, she is just getting ready to start.
Brian1972 on July 17, 2009 at 7:09 PM
Message for the stupid liberals in the dnc….
I don’t like the fact that Palin bailed because of your corrupt bullying, but I’d sooner smash my nuts and feed them to army ants than vote for you socialist pig farts.
….and I’m being NICE when I say that.
Spiritk9 on July 17, 2009 at 7:14 PM
Didn’t two Democrat Governors give up their seats in Arizona and Kansas? To be part of Obama’s cabinet? That doesn’t count?
Didn’t like one of them even pay their taxes on time LOL!
Dr Evil on July 17, 2009 at 7:15 PM
What is up? Gov. Palin writes an op-ed piece about Cap & Tax and MOveON goes into panic mode and plans on running attack ads and now this ad from the dems.
I sorry but aren’t there some other republicans to attack. I mean Gov. Palin is not the whole party.
For crying out loud the woman hasn’t even graced her presence in the lower 48 yet. Let the woman serve her last 9 days as governor in peace and quiet. HeeHee
oldyeller on July 17, 2009 at 7:24 PM
I think the only reason they made this ad was so they could make fun of Sarah Palin’s voice. Running for another office before your current term ends is not quitting. Its what EVERYONE does.
Speedwagon82 on July 17, 2009 at 7:26 PM
Hillary Clinton not only essentially abandoned her Senate seat to campaign for President, she did it after specifically promising to complete her Senate term when she ran for re-election.
guntotinglibertarian on July 17, 2009 at 7:37 PM
GOP blueprint for victory: run every ad and statement this government has ever said and contrast it with what this government did and said.

Oh, they’ve already thrown everything in the book at her. They’re just inoculating her for the future, and they don’t realize it.

So the left make it impossible for Palin to govern effectively so she resigns and they attack her for that.
Yep, those are Alinsky drones for ya.
RobCon on July 17, 2009 at 11:12 PM
You can’t blame the Bama. The left are begging to be taken advantage of.
RobCon on July 17, 2009 at 11:15 PM
The democrats are mad that Governor Palin has decided to be a moving target. It is like the monster movie where the zombie says “Please stop. I only want to eat your brain”.
scrubjay on July 17, 2009 at 11:19 PM
In this economy the Dems are running an ad against someone who is not running for office?
Not for or against an issue?
WOW! who paid for this ad?
Palin’s got em scared shaking in their boots.
Whats next? A statement from
Jesse “the fraud” Ventura.

I think the perfect response to this would be an an add that shows that when Democrat Governors end their terms prematurely its usually because they are embroiled massive corruption scandals and are about to indicted on criminal charges.
Dreadnought223 on July 18, 2009 at 5:42 AM
In Florida, the Democrats know that Kendrick Meek has a snowballs chance in Miami of winning a Senate seat and they’ve been able to find someone that fulfills their need for power and Republicans will hold their nose and vote for. Crist is Republican lite and always has been. I’d vote for Marco Rubio in a heartbeat, if he could raise some money. Obviously, it’s not quite over yet but I really don’t see anyone challenging Crist.
Sarah Palin? You have to love someone who can make liberals act so irrationally. They pull out all the stops and end up making themselves look foolish. I sincerely hope she comes down to the lower 48 throughout most of 2010 because she’ll have Democrats going nuts, showing their true colors, and losing votes every day she’s here.

Democrats.
Rod Blagojevech didn’t finish his. talk about
balancedbiased media.Gov Kathypoo Sebelious bailed for a higher calling.
