Um… They weren’t voting on renaming a Post Office. This was vote buying necessary to get enough votes on a bill that fundamentally changes America (down to the point of dictating what kind of light bulbs are legal). I fully appreciate your “hold your fire for the big stuff” point but would ask this. If you don’t want to call foul over a bill that will cost billions, raise taxes, kill businesses, and change the everyday lives of every American….. When the hell would you pull the trigger and call foul?

Didn’t that representative from Ohio, Marcy Kaptur, get a $3.5 billion payoff for her “yes” vote? That’s the only way any of these people from coal mining states would ever vote for this monstrosity.

Yes. Don’t forget Obama recently nominated Clyburn’s daughter for a spot on the FCC (I believe).

Clyburn recipients who voted for the bill included a who’s-who of battleground district Dems: Steve Driehaus, D-OH ($2,000);

Driehaus is a first-termer in a blue-collar district just west of Cincinnati. It’s kind of a purple district that had been represented by a GOPer for about a decade. Anyway, another payoff seems to be very frequent local ads urging viewers to call and thank him for his vote in favor of cap-and-trade. He’s not my rep, but he’s in a neighboring district and the ads make me puke.

If you don’t like Nancy Pelosi, make sure you don’t vote for a Congressperson who has taken her contributions!!!

This is where Pelosi gets her power!

If you don’t like Nancy Pelosi, contribute to your local GOP candidate. Not the state or national party funds but keep it local and make it a priority to get YOUR Congressional candidate into office.

The only way to oust Pelosi from power and restore a checks/balances form of government is at the local level. Since incumbency is so powerful a thing, the only way to do so is scorched earth grass roots activism like never before. Never take it for granted that your candidate will win and, certainly, never assume the other guy is too powerful to beat.

And there should be large public protests whenever Pelosi appears at fundraisers for other Congressional candidates!
