Video: Witness rips Boxer for racial condescension
posted at 12:57 pm on July 16, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
Red meat by the slab, folks! Barbara Boxer wound up getting reamed by Harry Alford, the chair of the National Black Chamber of Commerce, after attempting to challenge his testimony on energy policy. When Boxer started waving position papers from the NAACP and the 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Alford called it a “condescending” attack and complained about Boxer’s focus on black people rather than science:
I just love it when white politicians set themselves up as arbiters of racial authenticity, especially when they try to scold minorities for drifting off the political reservation. It belies a “soft” bigotry, if you will, when Barbara Boxer assumes all black people think the same and hold the same opinions — or even worse, that they should.
Update: Duane “Generalissimo” Patterson says California has reclaimed the crown.

Ms Boxer is just trying to keep them uppity blacks inline and on the Democrat Plantation. Mr. Alford, how dare you think for yourself and not tote the Democratic line.

Barbara Boxer is a dumb white woman for saying that. If she were latina, therefore a wise latina, she would know not to say that. Or, if she were a wise latina instead of a dumb white woman, her comment would have been correct. Boy, I’m confused.

Oh my, I missed that the first time I saw it. This is much worse than I thought!
Apparently She had Harry Alford chair of the National Black Chamber of Commerce and not the “other” “NAACP and the 100 Black Men of Atlanta” cuz she only needed one “token” African American rep. for her dog and pony show.
Me think, and rightly so, Harry Alford realized he was being used as a “prop” for Sen B. Boxer.

Veteran of what? What branch of service did he serve?
In the limited BIO on Stewart Boxer she met and married him in 1962.
He was in College as was she.
There is no mention of ANY military service.
Thee is a LOT mentioned about anti war anti military.
Perhaps someone should remind Sen. Boxer of the “Stolen Valor Act”

And did you also catch the bit about the evil oil companies helping to fund the CRA report?? So on the one hand she tries to pit his testimony against other black groups to undermine him in a “see, my black guys disagree with your black guys” argument (as Alford said, it was Gawd-awful) and then tried to insinuate that he was aligned with Evil Oil and thus suspect entirely. She’s scum, I’m sorry she “represents” California.
