Video: Witness rips Boxer for racial condescension

Red meat by the slab, folks! Barbara Boxer wound up getting reamed by Harry Alford, the chair of the National Black Chamber of Commerce, after attempting to challenge his testimony on energy policy. When Boxer started waving position papers from the NAACP and the 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Alford called it a “condescending” attack and complained about Boxer’s focus on black people rather than science:
I just love it when white politicians set themselves up as arbiters of racial authenticity, especially when they try to scold minorities for drifting off the political reservation. It belies a “soft” bigotry, if you will, when Barbara Boxer assumes all black people think the same and hold the same opinions — or even worse, that they should.
Update: Duane “Generalissimo” Patterson says California has reclaimed the crown.

Some of her best friends are black….
right2bright on July 16, 2009 at 2:20 PM
LOL. But I don’t think Boxer has to worry about running into that type of black guy much in her life, or any minority really. Minorities are pretty much wedded to the Dem party for all the goodies and “self-esteem” it dishes out. I only wish he had asked her whether there was any jewish opinion on the issue different from her own.
JiangxiDad on July 16, 2009 at 2:20 PM
PANDERING
First she panders to him saying “you are wrong because other black people agree with me”.
Then she tries the big CYA by mentioning her veteran husband “see – I like veterans too”.
Did Boxer produce any facts or evidence? Or did she only have emotions and other people’s opinions?
DiFi, Waters, Boxer, Pelosi – see a trend here? Mental illness.
rockbend on July 16, 2009 at 2:21 PM
Yes! I was able to watch it over at another site, Free Republic. Wonderful video of a racist getting pwned.
Torch on July 16, 2009 at 2:23 PM
She’s married to a veteran? I bet he’d like to re-inlist and serve in Afghanistan or Somalia to get away from her.
lonestar1 on July 16, 2009 at 2:23 PM
This needs to be repeated as often as possible. She hates the military, and hates white christians. But her fawning over a “person of color” broke through her Botox barrier and caused her mouth to crack from smiling. She’s a disgusting, vile liberal creature, a mealy-mouthed whore, who Hates her country with a capital H. I wonder how far she’d go to get the black man’s approval? Any black guys out there with a taste for old and rotten?
JiangxiDad on July 16, 2009 at 2:24 PM
Why didn’t Boxer come right out and say:
“Sir – I understand you’re black, and you’re the leader of a black business group. However, you’re not a credible black leader of a black business group unless you agree with the NAACP”
She’s an idiot.
Err…excuse me.
She’s “Senator Idiot”.

Finally, someone stands up to this hag. I have been furious ever since her performance with the General. Thank you sir, you have made a great contribution to America!!!!
mobydutch on July 16, 2009 at 2:27 PM
Gloryoski! Babs, touting the Democratic line, “All black people are alike”. No individuals. No differences. All the SAME. Who’d a thought a paragon of the party of labels could make such a mistake. I’m surprised she did not berate him for giving up his “victim” status, as bequeathed by the the party line.
GarandFan on July 16, 2009 at 2:27 PM

Jim-Rose on July 16, 2009 at 2:29 PM

On the bright side, Harry Alford was not scolded for referring to Senator Boxer as “Ma’am”.
Senator Boxer, it’s time to run…away.
gabriel sutherland on July 16, 2009 at 2:31 PM
To Liberals the race card trumps science, logic, business sense, pretty much everything. Boxer perceived Mr. Alford as playing a race card so she attempted to play two.
The problem is that no one told Mr. Alford that he was playing a game, he actually thought he was there to testify for the good of the country.
29Victor on July 16, 2009 at 2:31 PM
Well done, Mr. Harry Alford!
Boxer is a hack who serves no purpose but her own self interest.

WASTED! What’s disgusting, though, is that Boxer doesn’t seem phased. She such a smug POS, she couldn’t care less. Also, while I appreciate what this guy did, I’m not thrilled with the fact that he represents the “National Black Chamber of Commerce”. Not a fan of groups that identify themselves by race.

GreenBlade on July 16, 2009 at 2:39 PM
I love the way she continued to insult Alford by talking while he makes his statement. She is so typical of the smug lefty. Then she does what all cornered rats do, she tried to take cover by dwelling on an unrelated point by bringing in her “wife of a veteran” bit because Alford brought up his status as a vet.
Alford just soared to near the top of my most admired list. Even Rush is dealing with this. Good day for HotAir on EIB.

Where are more people like Mr. Alford to question these misrepresentatives like Ms. Boxer in such a manner?
These folks in Congress seem to think that they are bestowed with knowledge and benevolence upon their election.
I think Mr. Alford threw cold water on Ms. Boxer today. Mr. Alford should pay a visit to about 534 more “misrepresentatives.”
ted c on July 16, 2009 at 2:47 PM
Shorter Alford:
“Why don’t you just kiss my black ass”

Boxer really needed to have her chain yanked. Her treatment of the general was deplorable. Today’s comments really showed her version of liberalism, and it’s definitely racial.
I was very pleased to hear him rip her a new one.

I see a SNL routine in here. Tina Fey, this is your cue.
Goldy1 on July 16, 2009 at 2:53 PM
The ‘diversity of opinion’ garbage got on my nerves.
Firstly, she was obviously trying to counter the Black Chamber of Commerce with opposing points of view from other black groups. That’s mildly annoying but not horrible.
I think the worst part is that she thinks that an idea has more merit simply because more people from various walks of life support it. Unless the NAACP is an organization that is devoted to and expert in green jobs, their opinion holds no more or less weight than my own. A fact is a fact is a fact and it doesn’t matter if 1,000,000 people agree or 0 people agree.
Instead of offering up actual evidence to counter his argument, she simply offered up a list of people that agree with her. It’s an appeal to vanity logical fallacy – “Look at how many people agree with me. You don’t want to be different. You should agree too so you can be smart like everyone else.”
JadeNYU on July 16, 2009 at 2:54 PM
That has bothered me . The fact that Democrats demean any black person, if they don’t think like, walk like, talk like, or just be….a democrat. That is racism at it’s finest, and it’s a shame, that the black community who support democrats, don’t see that as well.
capejasmine on July 16, 2009 at 3:00 PM
Boxer: “Mr. Alford. I am simply trying to bring some diversity of opinion to the proceedings here. This is not racial politics. Next, I’d like entered into the record the results of a survey conducted among heavy consumers of Kentucky Fried Chicken…”
Potfry on July 16, 2009 at 3:02 PM
What’s truly appalling is to suggest that the NAACP is the same as the Black Chamber of Commerce because they share skin color. LOL* Man, I could tell she didn’t even have a clue as to why he knew she was being racist.
Don’t we all think that skin tone means we think alike? :)

There was a tremendous amount of the same sentimentality in the election. I felt truly bad for Obama at times, except that he won. *haha
I’m sure that soothed him. :)
But yes, I spoke up about it alot. I can tell you that the current crop of liberal thinkers were incapable of understanding that perspective.
They are steeped in seeing blacks as victims.
AnninCA on July 16, 2009 at 3:16 PM
Whoa, whoa, whoa! You’ve got it all wrong. When you’re a Democrat, you can speak as a representative for all minorities. When Sen. Boxer makes statements like this, she is helping the black community. That black guy who called her out is obviously an “Uncle Tom”. It’s not her fault that he misunderstood and misrepresented what she said on behalf of those little black people.
In fact, before work everyday, Sen. Boxer rubs a black child’s head for good luck and and pays another black child, who she refers to as “boy”, to do some softshoe for a nickel for her entertainment. Those people like to dance, you know.
Senator Boxer, she’s my nigga!

When it’s a black guy, she insists on being called “massuh.”

You know, it’s too bad that general Boxer was disrespectful to didn’t let her have it, like that. As for this debacle, it’s amazing how much sidestepping and tapdancing she was doing to pretend she didn’t even HEAR what he was really upset about.
With moves like that, she’d be pretty good in the MMA, if she had a good punch.
Virus-X on July 16, 2009 at 3:26 PM

What I struggle with is the fact that more black people don’t get tired of liberals treating them like they are stupid and inept and unable to perform or contribute to society. Too many buy the lie that they can’t make it and have to have the government take care of them. Condescending indeed! Well said, Mr. Alford. Well said.

Best part was her quiver voice. You could tell she was either scared to death or angry as Hell bust she didn’t dare treat a Black Man the way she’d treat a white one, or even a white General for that matter…
TheBigOldDog on July 16, 2009 at 4:18 PM
Boxer: And let me also add to the record this resolution passed by all of the black players in the NBA, and statements made by various Motown groups, not to mention the busboys in the Senate cafeteria, and finally for the record, Michael Jackson before he died, said …
Alford: I object!!!
Boxer: Okay, maybe I’ll take out Michael Jackson …
PackerBronco on July 16, 2009 at 4:25 PM
Only difference in Boxer’s behavior is time… 150 years ago she would have dragged that “trouble making darky” out of his cabin and bullwhipped him in front of the rest of the slaves.

Boxer also had a statement from the black kids who bags her groceries down at the Uptight Greenie Grocery Store that Allford was wrong.
“See, they’re black like you are and so my blacks are better than your blacks.”
Why the blacks flock to the party that treats them like chattel is beyond me.
Bishop on July 16, 2009 at 4:32 PM
They don’t see them as victims. More like pawns. Keep them poor, and ignorant, and in need of government intervention in their lives. That gives liberals power. We’re all porns in some form, or another, to Liberals. The idea now, is to impoverish the lot of us, and this keeps us beholden to the government for our crumb of bread, and glass of water, and that wonderful loaf of cheese.
capejasmine on July 16, 2009 at 4:35 PM
I’ll never forget the time this moron (Boxer) was shaking hands going down a line at one of her rallies. I happened to be in the front row, and she was coming down to me. I proudly held out my hand, and when she went to shake it, I flipped her off, and told her to go f**k herself. Free speech baby, yeah!!!!! She was shocked but moved on. As for me, I got to walk to my car amid the liberal pussies. Wasn’t even carrying, didn’t have to.

Before they even get to the racial business she argues with him over California, where he lives and how he’s not a Californian. He points out he lived there and is STILL a property owner for which he pays taxes in California.
Alford was fantastic on that, too.
Then to her citing the racial groups and people and the part where she instructs him that one of the men she was citing would be proud to know his name was being put in the record and he smartly says, “he should have been invited!”
Gawd, I’m listening to it again. Everyone in the GOP needs to watch and see how to not let the left get away with their crap. (No, I won’t hold my breath…but I say again, BRAVO Mr. Alford!)
