TEMS: Michael Yon, Senator Jim DeMint

posted at 1:00 pm on July 16, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

Today, on the Ed Morrissey Show (3 pm ET), we have a keeper of a show for you. First we have Michael Yon reporting from Afghanistan in an interview I conducted early this morning. Yon says we’re losing the war. Find out why, and how Americans need to recalibrate their expectations and their efforts in the Af-Pak theater.

Afterwards, we talk live with Senator Jim DeMint about his new book, Saving Freedom: We Can Stop America’s Slide into Socialism. It could hardly be more timely, with ObamaCare and cap-and-trade moving us from a slide to a full dive. The Senator — a stalwart and unapologetic conservative — not only describes the dangers but also presents us with a plan of action. Also visit the book’s website!

Now you can join the conversation in the chat room! Be sure to register at Ustream to participate in our raucous live-chat sessions. (And if the log-in prompt doesn’t come up in the chat box below, use this link instead.) Jazz Shaw of The Moderate Voice and The Monster moderate the chat, and they have Troll Gun Trivia Contest running before the show, for those who get there early — and are registered!

I was impressed by DeMint last time.

If he keeps it up with the vigor and honesty, he’s going back on my “acceptable conservatives list”.

I decided to put all of them on my s**t-list, and start from scratch with politicians having to earn their way back in my good graces.

Right now, Rubio is the only one back on.

I’m just finishing DeMint’s book “Why we whisper”. Very good read.
