Oh my: Obama drops nine points overall, 15 points among indies, in one month
posted at 7:00 pm on July 15, 2009 by Allahpundit
Net approval: Down 15 points since June. Net who say they’d vote to reelect The One rather than vote for someone else: A measly +3, down 13 points. Number who say they’re confident the stimulus will turn the economy around: 39 percent, also down 13 points. And the number who say the country’s “seriously off on the wrong track”: 55 percent, up 13 points.
Surely this trend is a function of miserable unemployment numbers, bound to reverse itself instantly once the economy starts cranking out jobs again, right? Hmmm:
In the context of decreasing levels of confidence in the current stimulus package, coupled with discussion about the viability of another one, the Poll shows very little support for a proposal for another stimulus package, with only 36% saying they would support such a proposal and 52% saying they would oppose it, with 40% saying they would strongly oppose it.
At the same time, it is clear that concerns over the prospect of greater deficits trump concerns over economic recovery. When given the choice, voters would prefer a slower economic recovery that incurs smaller deficits than a quicker economic recovery with greater deficits. Specifically, 71% of voters say they would choose a slower economic recovery with a lower deficit, compared with 23% of voters who say they would prefer a quicker recovery with a higher deficit.
Just what Barry wants to hear as he prepares to drop a trillion-dollar health-care bomb on America, and all the more reason to believe that Karl’s right in speculating that The One will take whatever health-care bill he can get in order to get something passed fast. This is his signature domestic policy issue; he can’t trash it just because people are starting to sweat about spending. The only option is to ram it through as far in advance of the midterms as possible and then pray that the recovery starts by next summer. No wonder they’re in a hurry.

There are four corners to any successful endeavor: _____ name your business here. For America, I think we have four corners:
1. Manufacturing and Production = GM, Chrysler
2. Banking and Finance = Citi, BOA, you get it.
3. Housing and Infrastructure = gettin it yet?
4. Health Care = O-kay

Let Barry ram his ObamaCare through. Because when the midterms come, and the economy still sucks, EVERY Democrat who voted for this piece of crap will have a stinking albatross tied around their necks. One of Barry’s faults is not knowing when to give. He’s been on a roll, thanks to a complicit Congress. I don’t think his ego would take kindly to a rejection. Barry takes everything personally.

Why choose? Theoretically, the quickest economic recovery doesn’t require increasing the deficits through additional spending. Just the opposite. It’s the bailouts and socialist programs that are both increasing the deficit and slowing/killing any chance of recovery.

What I do, is go to the door with a phone in my ear and three barking dogs in the background. I just wave my hand and shake my head in the “sorry, no time” kinda deal. They walk. If you confront them (I did that for the first one) they take notes. Just wave them off, they’ll go away.

With kindest regards: I have never been active in any sort of political theater in my lifetime. I’m 45. I am attending every tea party (business willing) and have involved my family, friends and neighbors. I am signing petitions. I am making signs and standing on street corners. I am emailing my so called “legislators” without success, but I’m becoming a pain in their butts.
This country is about to go down. If that happens, I will be known as one of the people who at least tried to stop it. Stand up and fight. I think Sarah Palin is going to lead us out of this muckmire we’ve got ourselves into. Just do what you can; join a 9-12 or a Tea Party group in your City.

i don’t think so. I think most of his loss of support is do to forgien policy. When you sid ewith catro, chevaz, and Kaddffi, as well as Iron Mullahs. It will drop your support. Only the hardcore liberals (marxists) look at these leaders as are new friends. I think Obama’s forgien policy enabled people to understand his domestic policy more fully. when you “pall around with marxists” people might start to look at you as a marxist and if they do they take a second look at your policies.

The economy, jobless rates, federal government intruding into the private sector; these are all important reasons for the Obama free-fall. Foreign policy has also taken it’s toll I’m sure. Obama didn’t side with the protests taking place in Iran, a brave attempt at democracy by hundreds of thousands of citizens. Then the very odd situation on Honduras, where Obama sided with Chavez rather than the rule of law.
This from hughhewitt.com:
Just Back From Honduras
Posted by: Jude at 12:15 PM
After returning from his brief mission in Honduras, Chris Burgard, director of documentary, “The Border”, just sent this letter and kindly agreed to share it here. His video report is up at PJTV. Please read this along with Miguel Estrada’s account of what actually happened in legal terms, and then ask yourself how different it all is from the story being reported – or not reported – across the MSM.
“Just got back from Honduras for PJTV. Pretty wild. It isn’t merely a conflict between Manuel Zelaya and Roberto Micheletti. The entire Congress and Supreme Court ordered this arrest. This is a battle for democracy with Chavez, Castro and Zelaya on one side and Micheletti and the Honduran Constitution on the other.
There is a lot of bewilderment down there as to why Pres. Obama sided with Castro and Chavez.
The Hondurans are hoping that they can cut off enough of the foriegn intervention in order that they may be able to hold free Presidential elections in November.
They are very proud of the fact that Honduran printers refused to print the illegal ballots and that their military refused to distribute the ones that were printed in
Venezuala.
The Honduran Minority leader: Antonio Rivera, explained to me that the political landscape began to change when Castro and Ortega sent in 900 teachers to help the poor in the country. They began organizing and indoctrinating almost immediately.

Dorian grey: I have the same dilemma: in my band, the bass player (my little brother) has a 1911a1, our new drummer has a Glock. We have 100 arces for hunting, with a nice shooting platform. I don’t care for the glock (really fat grip) but “old slab-sides” only carries 7 rounds of 230 grain “you’re not going anywhere”. The answer became obvious: 1911a1 with a 20 round magazine. Actually improves balance!

No. They might just get their asses handed to them, but the stain they leave behind will not go away so easily. If there’s anything that history can teach us it is this:
These things are just like a fish hook..once they’re set into the flesh, they don’t come loose without a lot of pain.
Obama’s plan is to put as many people and businesses on the government tit as fast as possible. The fact that they are trying to push this health care POS through RIGHT NOW should give you a clue as to how they think it’s going to time out. I believe they expect MASSIVE unemployment in the next 6 months…I believe they want MASSIVE unemployment in the next 6 months. I believe they are going to try and cause MASSIVE unemployment in the next 6 months. Hey, out of work? How about some extended unemployment benefits and some ‘free’ health care??
As soon as GM gins up production on what ever piece of $hit golf cart Obama wants, I believe they will cause gas prices to go up to 4 dollars a gallon through taxes and further restrictions on domestic exploration and refining.
And further more….hey look, a kitty….

Sadly, even if he looks like shiite by 2012, does anyone really think we can reverse the damage he’s caused, and EVER return our country to what it once was?
This is a legitimate fear I have. But I’m always curious when you bring this up, Allahpundit… You don’t really believe it would be a “real” recovery, do you? It would be the result of hundreds of billions of borrowed/printed money being spit out. Do you agree?
In fact, I’m beginning to believe that this is the reason we’ve barely spent any of the stimulus. If we spent it all now, the bogus “recover” might be recognized for what it is by 2012, but if he holds out long enough, he can make a FAKE boost to the economy at the right time to make him look good.
Anyone else think I’m on to something?
