Why in the world do the Jews continue to vote in droves for the Democrats?

It makes no sense to me. From what I can tell, many of their beliefs are very conservative, but they continue to give patronage to a political party that demonizes their existence at times. Can somebody with some knowledge of the reasons please explain it to me.

Who gets to tell Obama that the Iranians just aren’t into him? They’re not interested in direct talks with the Great Satan. We’re much more useful to Ali Khamenei and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as enemies and the center of their paranoid conspiracy theories than we are as an ally — and certainly a lot less valuable to their long-range plans as an ally than the nukes.

What about this is a bad thing?

Obama reaches out. Iran refuses to reach back. The rest of the region sees a US that is willing to engage and work with the Middle East. It marginalizes Iran in the region. This is a good thing.

The answer, this far out, is “it depends”.

Hillary is going to try to make choices that leave her able to play the most roles possible – dutiful SecState, administration outsider, “i-told-you-so”, etc.

She’ll be 4 years older, which doesn’t really hurt her.

The problems I see are that she has to have a break with Obama at some point after he’s clearly going down in flames because she has to pick up the independents to win, and she’s still got all the negatives she had in 2008….

My guess is she doesn’t know at this point, although she’s probably going to try to set it up as one of her options.

But I’m rooting for Hillary here. She probably has bitter memories of another Barack (then-Israeli PM Ehud Barack) and her husband being snubbed by Yasir Arafat at the last minute in 2000 after years of delicate negotiations, and wants to warn the Palestinians that she won’t be fooled easily.

The question is, will Obama let her do her job? After a Dem primary debate last year, she called Obama’s foreign policy “dangerous and naive”. She could protect Obama from his own stupidity if given the chance, but will ego, hubris and “dangerous naivete” trump a Secretary of State who slept with the President (sometimes) for 8 years? If so, will Hillary bail out from a sinking ship?

If you want the broad center, that’s it right there, and they could own it.

NO. From Ayatollah Khomenei and his friends. Why are you accepting Obama’s world view that it’s ALWAYS the US’ fault. How many times has the US attacked Iran? O. How many times has Iran attacked the US? At least three from the top of my head. And don’t give me shit about the coup in 53 (which Clinton already apologised for).

When the press realizes they bought a pig in poke and wound up with an opossum, they are very likely to turn on him, and turn on him hard. That will be Hillary’s opening, but the Clintons are not coming back. She will wound Obama, who will already be falling, but she will not have the wherewithal to close the deal and get elected. Obama is still likely to be renominated, but less likely to win a second term.

Good analogy. The only problem is that Clinton was somewhat remorseful for f%$king up the Rwanda crisis (Susan Rice, Ogabe’s UN rep, not so much).

I seriously think Ogabe wants whatever helps Chavez and Morales (the cokehead twins) in Honduras.

I don’t know. They have been loyal dogs so far, but ‘if it bleeds, it leads’, and there will be a lot of bloodletting if P.BO’s poll numbers drop bellow 30.

Instead Obama/Clinton should be devoting their time to triangulating their chimp Zelaya, who is now calling for insurrection in Honduras. If Obama had not jumped to his defense none of this would be happening. Instead they are fueling a potential bloody civil war. Then what?
