Confirmed: Obama’s “mom jeans” now officially a national news story

posted at 10:00 pm on July 15, 2009 by Allahpundit

In which CNN totally redeems itself for the other mom-themed political video they foisted on us today. Watch closely here and you’ll see the tweet that was sent to me last night — and which I linked in our post about The One throwing out the first pitch — flash by for a second or two. Good lord: Did Hot Air launch the Obama “mom jeans” meme? Behold my proudest moment as a blogger, my friends.

AP:

I agree that TOTUS’s reader (may TOTUS #1 rest in peace) looks ugly in those jeans but dude, you gotta get out with the ladies more!

Spend less time staring at jeans with men in them and more time staring at jeans with hot babes in them.

Ed, you better have a talk with that boy. . . . .

Dr.Cwac.Cwac on July 15, 2009 at 11:29 PM

Ha! CNN Moos thinks the problem was that Obama wasn’t wearing “designer” jeans. Yeah, a nice pair of G. Vanderbilt jeans is all that Obama needs.

I didn’t know the “mom jean” meme, but I noticed last night that the jeans were thin, not true denim, the kind that my wife has!–sure enough, Mom jeans they are.

Did Hot Air launch the Obama “mom jeans” meme? Behold my proudest moment as a blogger, my friends.

Better than humping robots?!

Quick, though, you need a 50 year old male model to halp market the HA Mom-Jean line! I’d volunteer, but I’m now in the relaxed jean phase.

Seriously – Kudos as you did start the meme.

AP = meme maker.

All I’ve got to say is that my husband got approached in a Walmart and was told that he had missed his calling. The girl said he should have been a Wrangler model. I told my husband I was going to go hurt some little girl in the bakery. He has never been accused of wearing MOM jeans. Obama just is incaple of playing an “ordinary American” he feels he is so far above the average middle-class citizen. Well, I know where real worth comes from, and Obama has none.

AP shows even a god-king can bleed wear mom jeans.

Capp on July 16, 2009 at 2:23 AM

What’s most disturbing?

1. Obama’s jeans.
2. That AP knows what “mom jeans” are? (sorry never heard of them)
3. That AP was looking at Obama’s bod that carefully?
4. Obama’s windup on the mound? (W looked like Nolan Ryan in comparison)

Erich66 on July 15, 2009 at 10:34 PM

Well if it’s either 2 or 3 then this AP fellow will need to be institutionalized in a maximum security facility for his own safety as well as societies.

Wrangler Hefty. Back in the day when I pretended to be a Yankee and mom paid the rag doll salesgirl to replace them.
I kinda feel for Barry being a little bit embarrassed with the women running the big show like it is now.

Can’t wait for opening day when the Red Soxtates take on the Goldman Black Sachs at Alinsky Field. When the Babe calls the shot it’ll be deja vu all over again -and let me be perfectly clear- we’ll be talking about the curse of Harry Caray…..next year.

13blackcats on July 16, 2009 at 2:51 AM

For JEANS????? Given how well this site sheds light on Obmabi’s corruptocrat tendancies the only hting that makes the MSM is the “Mom Jeans” tag?

Why am I not surprised <>

Fighton03 on July 16, 2009 at 2:54 AM

Why isn’t anyone asking what it cost to fly Obama and his entourage to St. Louis for his goofy, face-time appearance?

I can understand his throwing a ball out at an All-Star game on the east coast–but St. Louis?

The O is overexposed.

mikeyboss on July 16, 2009 at 6:32 AM

Okay, it’s the crack o dawn(not really) and I have to go to work but I have to tell you what I just saw on TV. It would appear that the comedian’s have found their winning formula for making fun of the president. Jimmy Kimmel made fun of the president’s jeans by making a GOP ad. Sorry if this has been touched on, I haven’t read any of the comments.

Cindy Munford on July 16, 2009 at 6:48 AM

Pants are a “distraction.” heh

Media could discuss this a bit more, perhaps:

http://www.therightsideoflife.com/?p=6666

To quote Dissecting Leftism (http://dissectleft.blogspot.com/):

A U.S. army officer, Major Cook, rejected his deployment to Afghanistan on the grounds that Obama was not born in the USA and hence ineligible to be Commander in Chief. He was ready to go to court over it. Rather than go to court, the army backed down and cancelled his deployment order. See the backdown here. Obama is clearly desperate to avoid this matter going to court, and the affair is receiving a fair bit of press coverage. Is this the beginning of the end? The lengths that Obama has gone to in order to avoid producing his original birth certificate are quite extraordinary.

Lockstein13 on July 16, 2009 at 6:49 AM

Have we finally seen Allahpundit as the ‘celebrity stylist’ in the video!?!

Gotta love the 63% of Huffington Post readers who think Obama looked cool in the jeans…at least we know they are still drinking their kool-aid.

Dude. You’re famous. And those are sooooo mom jeans – not dad jeans. I hope Michelle gave him permission. Holy highwaters, Batman. When’s the flood?

/8th-grade off.

Irony: can any objective observer not agree with the following: despite Obama’s alleged urbane and urban existence (plus, you know, he’s Black!) which ought to make him cooler than Puffy Daddy Diddy himself … George W. Bush was infinitely and genuinely cool in comparison.

It’s like comparing James Dean and Liberace.

Clint Eastwood and Urkel.

Maybe your wife can burn your ugly jeans for you. And fyi, I was kidding about them being above the bellybutton, you moron. I can see.

But they are MomJeans. And they are butt ugly.

Calling me a moron is a little harsh, don’t you think? And you have never seen my jeans, so you have no way of knowing if they’re ugly.

I’m willing to agree to disagree on whether the president’s jeans fit, but there’s no reason to be rude.
