Video: Even All-Star Game not safe from gratuitous Obama photo ops

posted at 9:06 pm on July 14, 2009 by Allahpundit

I’m so bored of watching him that I almost clicked over to the Food Network in disgust. But then I figured he’d probably be on there too, making casseroles with Rachael Ray or whatever, so I stayed put.

Dude, seriously: What’s with the mom jeans? Click the image to watch.

Update: Hi-rez mom jeans!

A president throwing out the first pitch?

HOW OUTRAGEOUS

W NEVER EVER DID THAT

Dave Rywall on July 14, 2009 at 11:47 PM

Again, as I said earlier, “W” was part owner of the Texas Rangers before he became Governor of Texas,so he is a real baseball fan, and actually knows how to throw out a first pitch. He did it because he loved the sport, not for the ego boost Obama does it for.

Susanboo on July 15, 2009 at 12:06 AM

The guy driving the cart clearly hates Obama – didn’t want to shake his hand.

Dave Rywall on July 14, 2009 at 11:58 PM

You noticed that, too? That guy was hilarious. It looked like he was thinking: “I’m going to kill my boss for giving me this gig. Look away! Look away!”

Then when Barry reached over to shake his hand, it looked like he was thinking: “Shake your hand? Yeah. Yeah. Whatever, dude. Hope you bounce it”

Obvious explination: Obama inherited those terrible jeans from the previous administration.

bitsy on July 15, 2009 at 12:02 AM

“W” or Laura would not be seen in the bedroom in those jeans, much less in public. Maybe they belong to Obama’s mother-in-law.

Susanboo on July 15, 2009 at 12:10 AM

As long as we can keep buffoons like you out of Colorado, we’ll be fine. Anybody’s who’s visited or lived here knows what a great place it is, so you can kiss my Rocky Mountain ass BigDipstick.

dakine on July 14, 2009 at 11:38 PM

Relax, I wouldn’t piss on the best part of Green Weenie Land.

I’ve visited many times. My sister has lived in Denver for 30 years. I was probably bombing down a slope at Key Stone when you were in the 8th grade and your dad decided to move from Texas or California to take that sweet janitorial job at the bus station.

BigWyo on July 15, 2009 at 12:10 AM

Hahahaha! After running around all day I came home, turned on the TV and the first thing I saw was President Mom Jeans. Burst out laughing. Have all the full-length mirrors been removed from Obamaland or something?

Gilda on July 14, 2009 at 10:32 PM

If he had worn man jeans, we would have all seen exactly where he’s lacking. Cripes I’m surprised they weren’t pressed.

Why don’t you be more petty.

There’s no denying that Obama’s pitch was crap.

So was W’s at a Nationals game:: 8 feet high and outside.

But really, who gives a sh1t. Oh, right. You do.

Dave Rywall on July 15, 2009 at 12:15 AM

Is it normal for the announcer just to say “the President of the United States” and not mention his name afterward?

You are the one being petty. I am not criticizing Obama’s pitching, only his motives, which are to be on television, radio or in the public eye 24/7 if possible. The guy is an ego-maniac narcissist, and I for one am sick of him. On that note, I am retiring, as it is late here. Have a good one.

Don’t you get it? It’s friggin’ embarrassing to see the POTUS, a young POTUS at that, unable to make a throw an 11 year old Little-Leaguer can easily make. I can tolerate high and outside. But to not even make it to the plate???? good god! Particularly the cocky way this guy comports himself. Bragging about having mad basketball skills and all. It was an utter pleasure to see him embarrass himself.

(Oh, and the whole “movies depicting it happening” thing, as well as the constant drumbeat of “W is a moron.”)

But give a little ribbing of Barry’s “fastball,” and now we’re out of line.

Bush was perfect after 9/11, at Yankee Stadium to boot. From the mound, full wind up, with complete body armor. Obama had a toss that would make a softballer player wince.

Obama showed his stripes fullest when he tried to back the Philly’s and Tampa Bay in the world series, when a man can’t even be truthful about such things how can we trust him with important issues.

Rbastid on July 15, 2009 at 1:55 AM

Fighton03 on July 15, 2009 at 1:54 AM

I downloaded the Yahoo video (just in case it disappears). They showed the pitch in replay from the centerfield view. Pujols had to run out in front of the plate to catch it. Someone should take that and paste a vid of Shrillary running out to the mound with her dreaded ‘RESET’/'OVERCHARGED’/whatever button. THis administration is a million laughs, when they aren’t busy destroying the American way of life.

The centerfield view paints a really ugly picture, indeed. I’m surprised there weren’t laughs from the crowd.

It’s a testament to the spinelessness of his fawning acolytes that not one of them had the stones to take The Jug-Eared One aside and advise him how pathetic he looks trying to throw a baseball. He should have stuck to the sky-box, or better yet, stayed in DC and continued his assault on prosperity or whatever the hell it is that he calls his shitty agenda.

More and more people are starting to see The Jug-Eared One in a more realistic light every day, and are realizing that he is inadequate to the job, and worse, hell-bent on an agenda that is bad for America and bad for all Americans.

Keep it up, O Jug-Eared One, for as someone famously said, America’s chickens are coming home to roost, and your particular chickens will be roosting soonest if you keep trying to throw good money after bad and the economy is still in the doldrums in the fall of 2010. The public is slowly but steadily becoming more educated to the fraud that is Cap and Trade, and insulting our intelligence by trying to call it a Jobs bill when it is a job-destroying nightmare of a bill will only hasten your downfall.

Calling everything a crisis and then having the incompetent Congress rush through legislation without even reading it much less debating the finer points is only effective up to the point where the citizens realize how “underserved” we are by our elected officials. Incompetence bordering on treason is not too strong a description for the manner in which this administration and this Congress have approached governance thus far.

The IG firings and the overabundance of so-called czars who skirt the checks and balances of our Constitutional Republic are very instructive for those of us who are paying attention, and should awaken everyone to the imperial mindset of this farce of a government. This cannot continue indefinitely as people become more aware of the malfeasance of this administration, and even the fawning media are starting to lose their blind devotion.

Even Obamabots have to admit the utter futility of repeating the “saved or created jobs” meme. Another case of insulting our intelligence with meaningless drivel that does nothing but call attention to the failure of Porkulus, and the administrations repeated attempts to move the goalposts on the subject only highlight that failure further for anyone with half a brain.

Keep up the good work.

Batter up!

Blueneck on July 15, 2009 at 12:35 AM

East coast All-Star Game, fine. A real man, however, doesn’t have the country pay for him and his entourage to fly out to St. Louis to grandstand in goofy pants just because his popularity is dropping and his programs are tanking.

Imperial weenie, indeed.

BuckeyeSam on July 15, 2009 at 1:19 AM

O.K., BuckeyeSam, your comment’s the winner on this round o’ whatevertheheckitwas. Having tried to read just the last page of comments, I now see why it was a good thing HotAir accidentally had the commenting feature turned off.

But, the wait was worth it to read that one from BuckeyeSam.

Second place goes to this one:

Al Bundy is a god. A god, I say.

hillbillyjim on July 15, 2009 at 1:15 AM

Adding my two cents, I think Obama DOES throw like the Girly-Man I now am completely sure he is. His limp-wristed whatevertheheckitwas, abuse of the ball by Girly Barack Man (in keeping with the Wise Latina Woman theme) was both sad and awful in no particular order.

I viewed another video playback of Girly Barack Man’s toss and saw that the catcher was over/infrontof Home plate and did a once-in-several-Seasons leap inorder to catch the wayward, wandering, limply tossed ball.

I think this explains Barack’s Pony Dance up and down the ramps in and off planes.

Lourdes on July 15, 2009 at 7:44 AM

The video was titled “Obama gets booed.” However, I didn’t hear any boos.

Um…I wanted to hear the booo’s. Were there boos? Tell me there were. I did hear cheering, though. I’m crushed.

Mommypundit on July 15, 2009 at 8:18 AM

While I wasn’t exactly listening for it, the first thing I noticed was the low rumble of cheering and the clear enthusiastic booing.

Compare and contrast to G.W. Bush public appearances.

It’s heartening to hear Americans boo an a**hole.

regal on July 15, 2009 at 8:23 AM

Was it just me, or did I hear A LOT of booing when he was intro’d and walked onto the field???? I think it was booing. So glad to see that The One is NOT roundly supported!!

Tom66 on July 15, 2009 at 8:39 AM

I am surprised the his teleprompter wasn’t on the mound with him!

grapeknutz on July 15, 2009 at 8:40 AM

Is it normal for the announcer just to say “the President of the United States” and not mention his name afterward?

Shy Guy on July 15, 2009 at 12:18 AM

Yes, that’s the way the president is announced in public and to the Congress. “Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States”.

Big John on July 15, 2009 at 8:41 AM

You guys are F’d up……Ochimpy was only taking it easy on Pujols. His Greatness didn’t want to be accused of taking up the wrong calling by going into politics instead of baseball.

Meanwhile, Pelosi and Reid launch an investigation into the distance between the mound and home plate. Their first suspects are the guy driving the cart and every fan that booed His Eminence.

csdeven on July 15, 2009 at 8:45 AM

Don’t you get it? It’s friggin’ embarrassing to see the POTUS, a young POTUS at that, unable to make a throw an 11 year old Little-Leaguer can easily make. I can tolerate high and outside. But to not even make it to the plate????

I asked that question this morning. But my lovely wife demonstrated one again why she is so brilliant. She responded – no body cares. And while you might think contrary, I had to conclude she was correct.

Because, you see, I would not mind having a jug eared black president who throws like a 10 year old girl and 2 feet short, IF HE WAS NOT AN IGNORANT SOCIALIST!!

csdeven on July 15, 2009 at 8:45 AM

I dunno, because that doesn’t explain Obama’s limp wrist.

Lourdes on July 15, 2009 at 8:48 AM

Wish he would wear NewBalance shoes, the better ones are made in the USA.

James on July 15, 2009 at 8:59 AM

I want to know why that was the angle chosen. It was a very odd angle from field level that may have been appropriate as he walked out onto the field, but astoundingly inadequate to cover the throw. The cameras that were set up to cover the game were fixed in place and should have been ready to go. The camera in center field should have been able to give us the traditional shot from behind the pitcher usually used to cover pitches whereby balls and strikes are evident. Not only did the director not switch to the better camera angle, but the cameraman on the field jostled the camera so that the pitch could not be seen as it reached the plate. What does this tell us? Two people were in on the “fix” designed to make sure the President didn’t look bad — the director and the cameraman. Were they acting on their own motivation, trying to make their beloved Obama not look like the Urkel that his is? Or were they acting upon orders of the President or his minions, knowing that he is Urkel and wanting to cover it up for propaganda purposes? Either scenario is mildly disturbing and symptomatic of the larger problem of having a megalomanic narcissist in the office of the American Presidency, a position in a republic that requires a degree of humility.

tommylotto on July 15, 2009 at 9:06 AM

One thing I noticed about that pitch.
Obama throws like a girl.

Were this situation reversed, the Justice Dep’t would be all over this with investigations of civil rights violations, and the usual suspects would be on all of the news channels beating their breasts and gnashing their teeth, calling for heads on platters and stirring up unrest.

Ain’t it neat how the “post-partisan, post-racial president” has pulled us all together?

I have seen people who voted for Obama taking the Obama bumper sticker off there car. This guy is on T.V.more than anyone in history and it,s wearing a little thin even for the fools who voted for him.Just look how many times he or his wife picture has been on Newsweek or Time Mag.The state run media has lost all sence of balance and they will be left on the trash pile of history.

thmcbb on July 15, 2009 at 9:25 AM

I was ok until he bit his bottom lip just before throwing the ball. What a girl. What a freakin’ girl.

SuperManGreenLantern on July 15, 2009 at 9:26 AM

Fox’s coverage of the entire game was atrocious. Beside the politics and Obama Butt Boys of Summer, the announcers talked about everything but the game.
