[...] Ed Morrissey at Hot Air comments on Sarah’s article: We need to make all of this clear. Cap-and-trade rations energy production, which means there will be less of it for a long time. Alternatives are not ready for the kind of mass production that would allow a complete replacement of energy, and probably won’t be for decades, if ever in some cases (notably wind power, as GreenChoice showed and as T. Boone Pickens finally realized). That means a lower standard of living that will impact America regressively, with the lowest income earners getting hit the hardest. The drain on the economy from high energy prices means less jobs and higher retail prices for goods and services, again a regressive consequence of energy rationing.
The one thing Palin got's is a core dedicated group following. That can make the difference. After some thought and following Palin pro and Con, I now am supporting Palin for 2012. I believe she could find thousands of supporters who would love to babysit her children, no problem. I agree she needs to be independent and organize under her own right and control. All these pandering has been RINO Republicans trying to advise her on politics should go take a hike.

TimeTraveler on any date at any time

Full on troll alert for this one. It uses a false "concern" for Governor Palin, (ususally couched in comments about her children) to advance the idea that Governor Palin is in some way incapable, or handicapped by her circumstances.

Time Traveler will not answer questions directly, and is neither creative nor original.

Why do folks insist that Palin is making a personal political move. I believe that she sees her role presently as an advocate for energy, common sense, national security, and smaller goverment. The nation could not have a better spokesman.

You may well be right - she can advocate for these things, which are issues that are at the very core of conservatism. If her advocacy becomes a true platform, from which she can launch a candidacy, well and good.

Many here are convinced that a presidentially run is inevitable; I'm of the opinion that if it happens, naturally, as a result of her "wilderness period," (as was the case with Churchill, then she will be the better candidate for it.

Yep, sounds paranoid, and overly simplified, but it sure looks like this: Cap & Trade, Stimulus, Health Care, all on top of the congress-instigated mortgage crisis, etc... the idea is obviously to collapse the economy under the sheer weight of these spending programs, after which the government can step in and run everything.

Plain common sense is all we needed in the first place, and that's what Palin has. O Reilly is calling this bill Cap and Con...The profit (Con) goes to Al Gore, GE, and Goldman Sachs and the tax goes to us.

You doubt she can win? So what? We ran Backdoor John McCain and I knew he wouldn't win. People keep talking about Charlie Crist or Mike Huckabee. No matter how bad the economy is, either one of those two is a sub 100 electoral blow out waiting to happen. Given the relative spineless at the leadership levels of the GOP, the last thing they're worried about is winning. They seem to want to compromise between someone the media won't hate too much and the base will throw money at...
The one thing Palin gives is a candidate I don't mind losing with; McCain was an embarassment. He was like a bad stunt man, falling down before the fake punch was actually thrown.

Let's say this again- Bristol's 18.

Would you hire a "babysitter" to keep an eye on your 18-year-old? At some point you let'em grow up and make their own choices, good or bad.

I am not blaming Palin at all…. I am laying all the blame on Bristol for what she pulled while her mother was working hard for the family. I only suggested a babysitter to keep an eye out on Bristol.

Dave Rywall on July 14, 2009 at 4:47 PM

That's your response after being shown you are a deceiving liar?
She will run, maybe not as president, but she will be the "spoiler".
She already has begun taking Obama apart...she has already began the national debate on energy.
Rather then trying to push through laws without debate, ramming huge spending bills down the public without reading them (so much for "transparency").
Palin is bringing this debate to the public, where the liberals (that you support) are afraid to bring it.
You are a liar...you do not want Palin in the public exposing the fallacy of the liberal programs.
That is why you and others attack her at every turn...she is your biggest threat.
Otherwise you would embrace her public stance, and encourage her to bring forth her ideas....but you only attack her personally, not her ideas...typical liberal.
You even have a new "name" for her, because you can't bear to have her speak the truth.

I am not blaming Palin at all.... I am laying all the blame on Bristol for what she pulled while her mother was working hard for the family. I only suggested a babysitter to keep an eye out on Bristol.

What is Palin going to do with the children?

Is she going to hire a babysitter?

TimeTraveler on July 14, 2009 at 7:12 PM

Do you ask the same question of Obama? Seems to me that Sarah Palin has a spouse, teenagers, and an extended family who are there to help at any time. Like families are supposed to be.

I have always been the main breadwinner in our family although both of us work. Are you telling me I have to stay home and take care of the kids? I would have loved to, but that's not my reality.

Women don't have to only be barefoot and pregnant these days.

[...] Ed Morrissey points out that unfortunately liberals will still likely not admit a problem and because they have a “sky is falling” mentality: They’re not worried about falling standards of living; most of them think we exploit too many natural resources anyway, and that less energy and less of everything would bring about the kind of harmony they desire — and want to impose on everyone else.
Well, of course cap & trade will kill AMERICAN jobs. But it'll do wonders for foreign jobs. It's all part of our "apologize for Excellence" tour. Duh!

Wow. Some real quality bloggin' goin' on here. Go, Sarah!

My best friend got his 2010 Camaro SS 2 weeks ago. Black (automatic, though). Came to my house right from the dealer. Gave me a high school GTO flashback. Lots left under your foot. I didn't flog it, it only had 30 miles on it! Two days ago some old woman backed into it, driver's side rear quarter. Estimate......7 grand!

[...] Sarah Palin’s opeD in the Washington Post is creating quite a stir, liberals are squirming to try and attack her again, as yet again they can’t handle the truth. In Palin’s Washington Post opeD, Palin explains what at least some people knew the day the idea of this Crap and Tax bill was mentioned. Heres a snippet from the Palin post: Unfortunately, many in the national media would rather focus on the personality-driven political gossip of the day than on the gravity of these challenges. So, at risk of disappointing the chattering class, let me make clear what is foremost on my mind and where my focus will be: [...]
