Obamateurism of the Day
posted at 8:05 am on July 14, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
A human moment, of course; if I had a dime for every time I tripped through a doorway, I’d be rich enough to pay a health-care surtax. However, Gerald Ford’s critics skewered him for tripping and defined him as a clumsy oaf, even though Ford may have been one of the most athletic presidents in modern history. The Left still makes pretzel jokes about George Bush. So here’s Barack Obama, not gliding through a doorway in L’Aquila, Italy (via William Amos):
After yesterday’s TOTUS crash, this might get Obama more sympathy than derision … which would be no surprise at all.

Got an Obamateurism of the Day? If you see a foul-up by Barack Obama, e-mail it to me at obamaisms@edmorrissey.com with the quote and the link to the Obamateurism. I’ll post the best Obamateurisms on a daily basis, depending on how many I receive. Include a link to your blog, and I’ll give some link love as well. And unlike Slate, I promise to end the feature when Barack Obama leaves office.
Illustrations by Chris Muir of Day by Day. Be sure to read the adventures of Sam, Zed, Damon, and Jan every day!

Obviously that step is simply trying to make Dear Leader look bad. I demand its execution.

Give Obama a break, Ed. He was probably chewing gum at the time.

Give him a break, Ed.
He’s just so excited about the thought of Universal Hell-Care that he lost his inner ear balance for a second and tripped.
Really; you people need to let go of things and accept what is right.
What an exciting time for America! People are united, and will never be defeated! We have such an agenda to look forward to:
Ending the wars of occupation
Universal hell-care
A second stimulus package!
A wonderful green energy program that will create jobs and power our nation into the 21st century. We will save 6 billion jobs too!
So really, just lay off.

It’s still better than trying to walk through that Oval Office window during his first week on the job. But in both cases, the only reason to care is because the left made/makes physical dexterity problems when a Republican is president into some sort of window into the brain. And like the video of Obama at the G-8, when the video media rushed like lightning to show that Obama wasn’t looking at the teen’s keister, any airing of this video will focus far more on Barack’s recovery, not on the stumble itself.
jon1979 on July 14, 2009 at 8:39 AM
Crash of TOTUS was a lightning strike from God.
Already on the top of Drudge.
Even a bone-dry atheist like Obama has to have a bad feeling about that omen. I bet he didn’t sleep last night.

But no one will play this up like Chevy Chase…they would be “chased” out of Hollywood.

BTW, didn’t he have a problem finding the right podium, and finding the right door, and running into a glass door.
And the late night say they have nothing funny to report on Obama…he can find 1 trillion dollars, but can’t find a door?
He can run through 1 trillion dollars in weeks, but can’t walk through a door?
He spends 1 trillion dollars to stimulate the economy, but can’t afford to buy a new teleprompter stand?
He spends 1 trillion dollars, but has to take free clothes from J. Crew for his kids?
He spends 1 trillion dollars, but he has to buy used clothes for the Pope?
He spends 1 trillion dollars in six months, but he is going to have his energy czar drive a hybrid and save $237.00 in fuel this year?
Each one of these is good for 5 minutes a night…he spends 1 trillion dollars, you would think they could spend a little more and by a brain for Biden.

txag92 on July 14, 2009 at 9:44 AM
I’d agree and nobody would classify me as a fan of the the filthy liar killing our nation. Obamateurism’s, to my mind are the many inept decisions he is making because of his child-like wonderment of world government, inept staff, and otherwise incompetent and misguided actions. Tripping over a step really isn’t in that category.
Though not humorous or with photos but a better one for today, IMO, would be the rabid defense the White House launched on Sotomayor’s “Wise Latinas make better decisions than white people” comments. The filthy liar’s people assumed that the one instance in a Duke University speech was all that there was when in reality the count of the same racist statements is up around six. That’s far more of an Obamatuerism.

My husband likes to call me “Grace”. You could say I have a tendency to trip. We went on a company chartered fishing trip and I slipped in the mud and landed in the ditch. I had mud in my hair, all over my clothes, and face. I started crying and they all thought I was hurt. My husband told them the only thing I hurt was my pride. It was one of those moments you have nightmares about. My youngest daughter could trip on a dust bunny. She is like watching a train wreck, good thing she is cute, I guess.

Smoking Gun? Time Will Tell!
AP- WASHINGTON D.C. – In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama’s qualifications for the
presidency, the group “Americans for Freedom of Information” has Released copies of President Obama’s
college transcripts from Occidental College .
Released today, the transcript indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received
financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate at the school.
The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court
order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California ..
The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded
a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program.
To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship. This document would seem
to provide the smoking gun that many of Obama’s detractors have been seeking.
Along with the evidence that he was first born in Kenya and there is no record of him ever applying for
US citizenship, this is looking pretty grim.
The news has created a firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about Obama’s
legitimacy and qualification to serve as president.
When reached for comment in London, where he has been in meetings with British Prime Minister
Gordon Brown, Obama smiled but refused comment on the issue.
Britain’s Daily Mail has also carried the story in a front-page article titled, “Obama Eligibility Questioned,”
leading some to speculate that the story may overshadow economic issues on Obama’s first
official visit to the U.K.
In a related matter, under growing pressure from several groups, Justice Antonin Scalia announced
that the Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to hear arguments concerning Obama’s legal eligibility
to serve as President in a case brought by Leo Donofrio of New Jersey .
This lawsuit claims Obama’s dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president.
Donofrio’s case is just one of 18 suits brought by citizens demanding proof of Obama’s
citizenship or qualification to serve as president.
Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation has released the results of their investigation
of Obama’s campaign spending.
This study estimates that Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with
eleven law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records.
Mr. Kreep indicated that the investigation is still ongoing but that the final report will be provided to the U.S. .
attorney general, Eric Holder.
Mr. Holder has refused to comment on the matter.
LET OTHER FOLKS KNOW THIS NEWS THAT THE MEDIA WON’T REPORT!
WHY, YOU ASK, WONT THEY REPORT IT?
BECAUSE IT WOULD IMPLICATE THEM IN THE GREATEST VOTER FRAUD IN HISTORY
THE NEWS MEDIA HAS KNOWN THIS FACT AND A GREAT DEAL MORE FROM THE BEGINNING
OF THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN
THAT IS THE WAY SOCIALISM OPERATES. THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS

Obamateurism? Are you kidding me? Are you this desperate for material?
Obama didn’t notice a step in the doorway and tripped. If anything, this shows how nimble on his feet he is….he didn’t miss a beat.
Nice going, ya lameass dick.

Not only was Ford a great athlete – but his one stumble became famous and led to the bogus perception of his clumsiness, led by SNL’s Chevy Chase.
Yet Clinton jogging in a fat suit, stopping at McDonald’s was… awesome. Never mind that triple bypass either.

I can’t see the video here, but isn’t that the time when he’s in line just directing or introducing people, and it only looks like he’s holding out his hand for people to shake?
