You know, after the way the release of the ‘torture memos’ turned out for them, you’d think the Democrats would been leery of starting a fight with Dick Cheney. Especially when it seems there is enough ammunition for him to fire back at them effectively once again. I can understand the tactic of trying to misdirect the public’s attention from a mess you are creating, but directing it towards another disaster that will be on your own head probably isn’t the textbook way to do it.

You know… if congress is so intent on hearing about what the CIA decided not to do… perhaps the agency should send someone down on a regular basis to brief congress on the 2335 colors they decided not to paint the halls, the 86 brands of rugs they decided not to purchase for offices, and several million other purchases and ideas they decided not to follow through on.

I’m guessing congress might eventually decide all that complete briefing of what they aren’t doing… but be cutting into the time they normally devote to not reading of the bills they pass at break neck speed.;-)

I figure the Dems would have learned the first time around. I forget which leader of the CIA said it but “We don’t brief the congress on plans we don’t intend to go through with”

Hence they briefed on giving baths but didn’t brief on killing Bin-Laden.

Lets hope they call Cheney up to speak, I bet he makes 4-7 Dems cry when he makes them look like morons.

I’m sure that all Americans are shocked, Shocked!, to learn that the CIA was looking into eliminating top Al Queda leaders, specially in the wake of 9/11. I mean, who would ever dream of such a thing…

Anyone who stops for just a moment and thinks will realize that this is simply another Democratic vehicle for distraction and obfuscation…

Speaker under fire for being caught lying? Check…

The previously hailed economic miracle that is the spendulus actually a bust? Check…

“Wow guys”, the Democrats say to themselves, “What are we going to do?”

“I know, let’s do what’s worked for the last 8 years; find a way to put Darth Cheney and eeeeeevolll Booooosh! back in the crosshairs and bail out Pelosi at the same time!”

“After all, we all know the media will play along with our charade…”

Well the Democrats better tread lightly on this. I mean, O!&Co hasen’t exactly enjoyed a string of foreign policy successes. And, the left are already seen by the public as weak on national security, do they really want to dig the hole deeper? Not to mention, the entire premise being bogus in that a program doesn’t have to be cleared wit Congress until it, you know, actually becomes operational. Add this Pelosi’s already low, and falling, public approval and that the CIA doesn’t usually roll over when under assault by preening politicians…

Seems to me like a recipe for political disaster…

I guess I’d better stock up on popcorn!

In what I’m sure is unrelated news reported earlier here and elsewhere, Barack Obama is slipping in a recent cBS poll front-loaded with a Democrat-heavy sample.

But only a cynic would think there is any connection here.

PS – Obama just made a celebrity appearance to throw out the first pitch for the All Star game. He throws like a girl.
