Bolivia has a growing Islamic population, with ties to Iran…all pretty much under the radar.

Once this toehold gets a better footing, Latin America will look back at the days of “Yanqui, Go Home!!” as the good old days.

The size of the embassy in Managua is about the least important aspect of Iran's activities there. A San Antonio-based journalist named Todd Bensman has done actual investigative work in Nicaragua since Ortega and Iran started courtin', and his reports are referenced in this comprehensive summary of both Iran and Hizballah in Latin America. Both of them are all over it. Most Americans have no idea how penetrated Latin America is by Iran and Hizballah. If WaPo is actually conveying the impression that the size of the Iranian embassy in Managua is an important indicator of some kind -- well, read the linked piece and see if you agree that that is colossally incompetent journalism.
