Ramirez: Flame of Liberty a bit too carbon-rich, arrogant?

Michael Ramirez has a biting look at the 2009 Apology Tour of Barack Obama, which resumed in Russia this week after a hiatus of a few weeks. He deftly ties into this image the “arrogance” argument for unilaterally restricting the US from economic expansion, and how that will dim the light of liberty not just around the world, but here at home as well:
Ramirez has a terrific collection of his works: Everyone Has the Right to My Opinion, which covers the entire breadth of Ramirez’ career, and it gives a fascinating look at political history. Read my review here, and watch my interviews with Ramirez here and here. And don’t forget to check out the entire IBD site, while individual investors still exist.

We are going from the beacon of the world to the laughing stock of the world.

I feel like I’ve been beating this same drum for months. Did the rest of the world – the world who was so in love with Obama last summer – really believe that we could be just like them but also continue to protect them, rescue them, bail them out? When we are bankrupt (or have simply just decommissioned all of our air craft carriers/subs/hospital ships, etc, who will step in when the next tsunami or earthquake hits? We’re already seeing the Obama doctrine at work in Iran and Honduras – there is no longer a big brother out there to step in when people are fighting for their freedom. No, Big Brother is more concerned with keeping tabs on his own “freedom fighters” here at home. The rest of the world is on its own – we have our own problems to work out.

What other “eternal flames” should be snuffed out as wasteful. There’s one in Arlington Cemetary that should be considered.

Knowing O’s lack of hesitation sending gifts back (Churchill bust), he’ll probably have the entire statue dismantled and “returned” to Sarkozy.

Something reeks of arrogance, all right, but it’s a few miles further up the East River and it’s called the UN.
Is it 2012 yet?

The ogler-in-chief once again found a way to apologize for the U.S. today regarding climate change…
He said that in the past the U.S. had “fallen short” when it comes to taking its share of responsibility to reduce carbon emissions, but “no longer” under his .
He is sooooooo predictable already.

Heeeyyyyyyy………..
………… I’ve got an idea!
Let’s elect a Marxist/Socialist Community Organizer whose ideology believes that the United States of America is the biggest evil on this planet………….
………. give him a super majority in Congress,
Then sit back and watch what happens……………..?
……………. What could go wrong?

The American economy, the engine of liberty, he who shuts down our economy shuts down freedom.

I am most impressed with Ramirez’ biting wit.
Thanks to you (and ManlyRash too, actually) for pointing me in his direction.

Oh, Lady Liberty. How dare you be a shining beacon to the world when we suffer at home? How dare you bring hope to the multitudes when there is such hopelessness here?
What vanity you display. What shame you embody.

Each episode of “We, Apologize” when the COC (Community Organizer in Chief) has sacrificed nothing brings me from dislike closer to loathing.

I knew there was a reason I liked him, that is aside from his uncanny political wit.
ConservadorRebelde on July 10, 2009 at 1:37 AM
Well, yeah – he works for Investors Business Daily. One of the few capitalist papers left.

The real problem with Lady Liberty’s torch is that it shines into President Obama’s bedroom and keeps him from enjoying his private time (sleep).
