Hey dummy, it is not dishonest to point out what the man actually said. Here it is again.

“Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes,” Obama told a crowd in Dover, N.H., last year.

I didn’t say he said this, he actually said this. “Not any of your taxes” has a specific meaning. You can quibble all you want about what you THINK he MEANT by it, but you can’t just decide he MEANT something different than what he SAID. I even provided the entire quote so you can’t say I took anything out of context.

And finally, what the hell gives the federal govt the power to decide what I should and should not drink or smoke? For that matter, where do they get the power to decide what kind of light bulb I should be allowed to use? If you have no problem with them exercising these mundane powers over your life, that’s your choice and you have many places on the planet where you could go and enjoy such totalitarianism. But I prefer to decide these things for myself. Why am I wrong and the feds are right? This is a serious question, not that I think you’ll bother answering it.

It seems pretty clear to me that he was talking about payroll/income taxes. Not optional purchases like cigarettes, booze, and sodapop. I mean, you can easily avoid these tax increases by avoiding those items.

So sure, have your fun pointing out a one-time misstatement he made. But if you’re interested in intellectual honesty, put it in the proper perspective and you’ll see this isnt a big deal.

Do you really think that those Insurance Companies and Auto Companies voluteered deals to cut their own throats?

Somebody made them an offer they couldn’t refuse!!

Why would anyone expect him to begin being honest now?

That sentence right there is what stuns me the most. You hit it right on the head. People act stunned that he’s being revealed as just another filthy liar. SHOCKING!!!!!!!

It doesn’t count the cost increases of energy not just on the homes themselves, but on every step of the distribution chain for goods and services, which will create a significant jump in prices, which is also a sharply regressive burden as it will hit hardest those with less disposable income.

And that’s a key point that Obamanoids refuse to discuss, although to be fair I doubt many of these doofus liberals understand it.

If you’ve never seen a freight bill, you might not know how increases in diesel fuel prices instantly increase the cost of shipping everything in our economy. Truckers don’t build those costs into future bills with higher rates – they have a predetermined fuel surcharge rate, and the day it changes, so does your freight bill.

And so does the cost at the retail end, which a reasonable person would call “a tax”.

Honest and evil are mutually exclusive.

Wow…I’ve been trying to explain exactly that to people for decades.

I’ve hired thousands of people over the course of my career. The key question in every interview has been this:
“Thinking about the kind of people you surround yourself with, what would you say is the single most important quality of character?” If the candidate did not answer, “honesty” or “integrity” within 2 seconds, they didn’t get the job.

What really concerned me, beginning in the late ’80’s, was that the younger candidates – recent college grads – started answering “compassion” and “tolerance”.

it would be easier to report that they just like any tax they can pass.

In fact, they like them so much they’ve giiven them a new name. They aren’t called “taxes” any longer. That’s so 20th century. They are now called “revenue enhancements.”

This is very frustrating to watch unfold.
How hard is it to see that the answer lies in massively reduced government spending and massive cuts in taxes- which fundamentally equates to freedom?
The U.S. would flourish as never before.

The problem is that politicians in general, and the Dems/libs in particular, want control. They are relentess and will never rest until they control every aspect of your lives, and that means their “owning” all the fruits of your labors- which, of course, they assume they know best how to use for the common good.
And for the sheeple, it’s as simple as believing that they are going to be taken care of, i.e., some one else is picking up the tab.

Thus the death spiral.
