Rock bottom: HuffPo poster bids Palin farewell with retard jokes

posted at 8:35 pm on July 3, 2009 by Allahpundit
Share on Facebook | printer-friendly

Don’t be too quick to blame all liberals for this excrescence. It was a lefty who tipped me to it, and more than one lefty who follows me on Twitter chimed in to agree that it’s repellent. Arianna’s crew was reasonably quick about flushing it, too. But lest you have any doubt that attacks on her family might indeed have weighed heavily in Sarahcuda’s decision to resign, feast your eyes on this screencap. Frankly, I’m amazed she hung in this long. Click the image to enlarge.

Update: Erik Nelson, the author, claims that he pulled it down himself because “No one was seeing the absurdity of Palin hiding behind her children, so my piece was not accomplishing anything good.”

My honest fear is that it was trig that was the catalist for this decision. The hatrid of the left was bad enough on Britol and Willow but it got down to the trig crap and that was the last straw.

When the left feels the need to trash a one year old to gain political favor I fear for this country.

All my liberal Facebook friends are jumping up and down with glee over her resignation, so this just delights them all the more. This only embarrasses some on the left because they know it’s indefensible, but most still get a kick out of it.

I hope you’re right and I hope the resignation doesn’t kill her politically for higher office. But I have my doubts.

Hog Wild on July 3, 2009 at 8:41 PM

It doesn’t matter if it kills her politically for higher office or not at this point. It doesn’t!

In her speech, she said she did not need a TITLE to effect change. She can do it on her own, and she will, and she gave herself the freedom to do so!

Republicans are obsessed with resumes and credentials and lists. “Well, if she doesn’t have ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ on her resume, then HOLY CRAP!” She’s saying she can effect political change, and doesn’t need a title to do it!

It’s a counter to Obama, whose entire raison d’etre was “I can effect change! Just make me President (title) and it shall be so!”

Republicans pointed out his weak record. Resume. Lists. HillDog Dems did it before them (and I was one). Not a dent in the teflon.

Palin is elevating her status, and the status of FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE PRINCIPLES (independent of her title as Alaska Governor [R]) via this move. She’s advocating Populism, and is going to fight. The title of one person isn’t essential to the welfare of the nation.

Challenging what the hell is going on is. And that’s what she’s doing. Read the speech, not the silly spin again preying upon “Weak woman! Crying to family!” or “Stupid woman! Losing an essential part of her resume!”

We need Palin to SPEAK NOW, and not sit in Alaska, tied back with abuse the stupid ethics threats that are gagging her from speaking out more about the state of the Nation.. She is going to speak soon, and speak strongly, and work to bring this country back to FISCAL CONSERVATISM AND SOCIAL FREEDOM.

She is challenging Obama on his BS, but making sure she leaves Alaska as elegantly as she can while doing so.

That. is. it. The obsession over “lists, titles, and resumes” is a Republican phenomenon, and it is not winning anymore. She’s going to use the Democrats’ strategy, and turn the media’s obsession with her into her greatest weapon. She’ll have a constant platform for her voice, something no sitting Republican will ever get.

For once, take it from an ex-Dem and think like a Dem to win the media war.

Everybody here at HotAir should read closely Sarah’s release.

This is not the words of a woman leaving the fight. She is merely taking it to another level to free herself up from being pinned down in the governorship.

She now has the media spotlight and has the county’s ears for the foreseeable future.

I told you people to trust her.

She’s taking the struggle against Leviathan to a new level. It may or may not be POTUS in 2012, but she is going 100% offense.

Expect her to be in the lower 48 regularly.

Liberals are scum, no getting around it. Oh, some may have not gone this far, but they would surely cross the line somewhere else. It’s inevitable, it’s their nature. Eventually, they all sting themselves to death like a scorpion thrown into a fire.

The problem with libs is they never believe they’re doing anything wrong. Is that any less self-righteous than those they mock as ‘Bible-thumpers’?

But I ‘get’ Palin. At least I think I do. When I look out at the landscape from my piddlin’ point of view and compare it to Palin’s, I am convinced of one thing.

I would hold that little guy, Trig, hug all of the family, make dinner and thank God for his blessings. Who wouldn’t want a normal life?

That’s why I like Palin. Perhaps that is the appeal. Can’t we simply have someone who is normal in DC? I’m tired of the freak show.

This is grotesque. As is the photo shopped Piper picture…my gosh.

What if we did that to Obama’s kids?

I ask myself this sometimes, then I remember we couldn’t live with ourselves if we did this. It’s just not in our nature.

Sometimes you just want to kick the sh#$ out of a someone…

Why all the hate for AP. The more people who see what garbage comes out of the HuffPo the faster it gets discredited as a reputable source of “news”.

There are much worse things than having to pull a column, Erik Nelson. With my little ring I can take you apart molecule by molecule and then put you back together again. And maybe I put you back together right and maybe I don’t. But you’ll be alive and conscious for every second of it.

She’s joining the roller derby.

SnarkVader on July 3, 2009 at 9:08 PM

Dang. Imma start watching roller derby. . .and get season tickets. . .and a tattoo; although I’m not sure what to do with one.

What a douchebag. Palin never tried to hide “behind her children.” Is that what we call it now when hate-libs make a point to seek out the kids (of conservatives) for ridicule and scorn?
