WH spokestool: We’re all about free elections and the “democratic process” — in Honduras

posted at 10:01 pm on July 1, 2009 by Allahpundit
Share on Facebook | printer-friendly

In which frequent Megyn Kelly sparring partner Bill Burton steals a page from Susan Rice and ignores the screaming contradiction between The One’s outrage at Honduras and non-outrage at Iran. Funny how the White House’s rhetoric shifts from harsh realism when addressing the latter to an almost neoconservative ode to freedom when addressing the former, notwithstanding the fact that freedom and democracy aren’t at all what Zelaya and Chavez have planned. I get that it’s this guy’s job to spout garbage, but is it too much to ask that they spout consistent garbage so that we don’t have to endure White House spokesmen making the case for and against meddling in other countries in back-to-back news segments?

A more pressing question now. What’s Juan Williams doing hosting the Factor? Click the image to watch.

I dunno, but Juan Williams would be an improvement, in my opinion.

Given his unquestioning and uncritical support of Obama during the election, I assumed that he was the “WH spokestool” in the equation.

Bill Burton is the kind of guy who would send his own mother to the re-education camps if it suited his purposes.

He is smarmy and lacks a moral compass.

Other than Obama himself, Bill Burton is the worst thing about Obama having won the election.

Yes, and I’m quite sure that ol’ Rupert will take this suggestion. except for the fact that O’Reilly has been beating the tar out of everyone for years ratings and advertising wise.

I’m extremely sure they’re just drooling to get rid of him.

And the answer to why Juan’s hosting the Factor is: because they asked? Just shooting in the dark here…

If you ever stumble onto Juan Williams on NPR you will swear it’s a different person. I guess you have to play to your audience. Whenever I think badly of him, I remember that he was one of Tony Snow’s best friends and I know he must truly be a nice guy.

My question is…. who is their right mind cares about O’Reilly? I call him “hands”. Can’t stand the guy. Good thing they got Megyn, Beck and Cavuto. I don’t turn Fox on until 3:00 cst now and turn off at 7:00 cst. Wake up Fox. Hannity has a radio show where he constantly talks about picking up tennis balls, freedom concerts and his night show. He’s so into himself, I can’t listen to him anymore. A Rush wanna be. Levin and Rush are my guys. Beck is growing on me big time.

Has a spokestool tried to explain what Bozo meant when he said, “the stimulus has done its job”?

txag92 on July 1, 2009 at 10:20 PM

Had the TV on mute when The Factor came on and had planned to leave it that way until I noticed that Williams was hosting.

Williams is a big lib, but he’s always civil and generally thoughtful. I think he did a much better job than O’Reilly whose ego is so over the top I can’t stand watching him.

Making up for the blonde overload from yesterday’s show…..

Seven Percent Solution on July 1, 2009 at 10:10 PM

FOX is overflowing with blondes—most of whom have brains as well as looks. The two O’Reilly favorites that I absolutely cannot stomach are Hoover and that Russian language lady. My guess is that Bill-O lusts them.

I stopped listening to Hannity because out of an hour of his program you get about 15 minutes of material. Plus, he repeats everything he said on the radio on his tv show.

txag92 on July 1, 2009 at 10:23 PM

Juan did good tonight, probably thanks to years of tenderizing by Brit Hume. I keed, I keed. He is actually a moderate with good family values.

John Ziegler would be a great replacement for O’Reilly. I watch the Factor for the regulars like Dennis Miller more than the host, although Bill’s extramarital scandal a few years ago made him less arrogant and more likable.

Every time Burton was on, I got the feeling Obama did not want my vote. Did not seek my vote at all. There wasn’t any ‘winning me over’. If you didn’t support Obama, they hated you/attacked you. Funny way to run a campaign, good thing they had ACORN and the Media in their pockets..

A more pressing question now. What’s Juan Williams doing hosting the Factor?

The answer, I have to assume, is that O’Reilly invited him, just as he invites Laura. O’Reilly’s got enough clout at FNC to call his own shots on such matters, don’cha think?

Besides, though I caught only snippets of the show, I thought Juan did a really good job. Not that I’d want a lib to take over the show, but variety of viewpoints adds interest, and Juan’s viewpoints command increasing respect lately.

Hey, notice Megyn subbed for Brett tonight? Done good, too. Hopefully after this she can substitute PERMANENTLY for Shep. Big improvement would that be!

Yesterday Ben and Beck said they got up happy then watched the news and it turned to crap — I disagree — MY GOD this is like watching a car crash!

You know it isn’t gonna be pretty — someone is gonna get hurt — you may even be too close to the fray and get injured or killed — but for some reason you can’t avert your eyes or change it no matter how hard you try.

That is how I feel everyday — I almost run to the computer for the latest.

I just hope this administration turns out to be a Car-B-Que and not a tanker truck of propane!

Yeah, I guess donks figure he beats Colmes…

Bill Burton? That guy in the video who is not Juan Williams? Really?

myrenovations on July 1, 2009 at 11:21 PM

What’s Juan Williams doing hosting the Factor?

I didn’t watch the whole show, but I have to say that I was generally impressed with Juan Williams’ performance. I like Juan, though I can’t stand most of his views.

What I’m saying is that Bill has apparently decided that having 2 women (blond or not) arguing is good for ratings…

BTW, whenever he has Megyn Kelly on (with that other lady), I think Kelly totally wins every time… agree, disagree?

Upstater85 on July 1, 2009 at 10:44 PM

Agree, especially when the good lookin’ wimmen are brainy with plenty intellectual clarity, intellectual honesty, intellectual strength, and common sense.

BTW, I loved the way Burton tried to call Crap&Trade a Jobs Bill. LOL. That was really funny.

Hey, yet another half-white “black guy” on the Obama team. What a surprise. I seriously think Obama hates black people unless they look 3/4 white.

Maybe it’s because of his wife.

PS And I agree with earlier comments; this drone somehow makes Baghdad Bob Gibbs look like a viable spokestool.

Burton

vs…

Kelly

in the looks dept. I guess that’s not fair. You probably prefer the Michelle Obama look…

Agree. But Lis Wiehl always loses … to everyone.

progressoverpeace on July 1, 2009 at 11:29 PM

haha, glad I’m not the only one that noticed the difference in Juan there. Man, I was wondering if he got abducted by aliens and replaced with an alternate version of himself.
