Look on the bright side. Compared to some of the behavior we’ve seen at other Jacko tributes, this is downright dignified.

A man who is supposed to be a role model for the black community?
Now he’s… In Da Club?
Well… I’m saddened.

Grinding? Pshaw, people. He was actually dancing. I know it’s rare in this day of butt-thrusting and penis-pushing on the dance floor. But Al actually got it right this time, likely because his mouth wasn’t moving.
He moves pretty well for someone of his age and girth. As soon as the woman tried to drop it like it’s hot Al backed off. I’ve had that exact response myself.

I come from a family that is not afraid to shake some tail. If you can’t shake yours to MJ, you probably can’t shake it too much else.

portlandon on July 1, 2009 at 7:01 PM
Nothing wrong with that. You saw how he stepped off when she went gangsta with it.
I saw the photos and it looked bad, but on video, it’s actually pretty tame. I’ve done worse in the club myself. It’s all in fun. If you take a video camera into any club on the wkend, you would be shocked at what happens on the dance floor.
It’s all in good fun.

What a croc. Dancing is only for teens? Puh-lease. From this video, I think Al Sharpton has more business on the dancefloor than he does posing as a so-called “role model.”
Your limited allowances for people to express themselves in mourning is sad. Lots of people celebrate life instead of mourning death to ease the pain of losing loved ones. I believe this footage was shot at a memorial function for Michael Jackson’s passing. Dancing to Jackson’s music is a great way to celebrate his life, if he meant that much to you.
I have to wonder for whom do you expect the public to mourn in such a large scale around the world? Elvis is dead. Paul McCartney is still huge. But I don’t see him dropping dead anytime soon from drug abuse either.

marklmail on July 1, 2009 at 7:10 PM
The liberals really know how to throw wakes. First Paul Wellstone’s memorial turns into a Fritz Mondale political rally, and now a memorial for Michael Jackson looks like the first round rejects from “So You Think You Can Dance”.

Let me say that I pray that when I die, a bit more decorum, taste and respect is presented.
Let’s celebrate a life by plugging record labels, enabling just plain weird behavior, and otherwise making a circus of a death. I’m not above celebrating a life at a memorial. But this is ridiculous.
Everyone wants to call attention to the fact that the guy had no childhood and lived a crazy life. Let’s make a mockery of his death, the same way everyone made a mockery of his life.
At least consistency is there.

And now for the news. The Santa Barbara chapter of NAMBLA sponsored their own unique homage to the fallen rock star today. They donated a life size Ice Cream stick replica of Micheal Jackson to the boys of Cub Scout Troupe 69 of Southern CA and watched as the youngsters licked and nibbled the quirkey treat right down to the stick. One witness said that as the sun melted the face, it began to look more and more like the real thing, until the corners of the mouth seemed to form a bizarre agonizing smile. Several members of NAMBLA passed out cold.

Sharpton is NOT a Christ-like reverend. Read the article below of a REAL BLACK Christian pastor that has a moral character and backbone to stand up for what is biblical. His 2nd to the last paragraph sums up THE ONE to a T!!
A black evangelical Christian pastor and former NFL linebacker says there was “absolutely no truth in anything” President Obama said in his speech to homosexuals in the East Room of the White House Monday.
President Obama promised LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) supporters Monday at a White House “gay pride” celebration that he “will continue to be an ally and a champion” for their agenda, once again vowing he will repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. (Related article: Obama White House not appealing transgender ruling)
Ken Hutcherson, senior pastor of Antioch Bible Church in Washington state, says it is “a shame” that the president is “supporting what destroys the family.”
Ken Hutcherson”There’s absolutely no truth in anything he said, from beginning to the end,” says Pastor Hutcherson. “There is no such thing as [a] biblical stance for homosexuality, if you use the Bible. If you want to use any other denomination, feel free — but where I stand is…biblical; it is marriage between one man [and] one woman, and that is the relationship, heterosexual, that is ordained, blessed, and called by God.”
In his talk, Obama acknowledged that many Americans still disapprove of homosexuality. “There are still fellow citizens, perhaps neighbors or even family members and loved ones, who still hold fast to worn arguments and old attitudes,” he stated. (See related article) Hutcherson says those comments demonstrate the president has contempt for more than just conservative Christians.
“I think this president has a disdain for anyone who disagrees with anything about him — don’t just limit it to Christians and conservatives,” he remarks. “Brother, this man doesn’t like anyone who doesn’t think he’s the smartest man in the world.”
Hutcherson says until conservative Christians make their small voice a dominating one, there is nothing that will stop President Obama from pushing for the legalization of same-sex “marriage.”
