Video: More Palin-bashing from the media

It hardly will move the Shock-O-Meter for most people on the Right, but since this came during what has been described as MS-NBC’s “conservative” three hours, it’s worth a look. Mike Allen of Politico, Willy Geist, and Joe Scarborough tag-team off of Vanity Fair’s ho-hum hit piece on Sarah Palin to throw a bunch of rehashed ad hominem attacks at Palin. “Joke,” “circus act,” “Dan Quayle” all appear as the three men get their 3:45 Hate in today’s show:
Mike Allen acts especially perturbed by the fact that — ohmygosh — people still actually want her to appear at fundraisers! He says this in the same tone of voice he might use in describing the Flat Earth Society or a reported chupacabra sighting. None of these men offer a reason for Palin to go into hiding and wear a political burqa except for their ad hominems, or explain why a governor of any state doesn’t belong at fundraisers for their political party. California just went broke; do you think these men would tell Arnold Schwarzenegger to stay home and out of fundraisers until they stop issuing IOUs? Do you think any of these three would dare?
Patrick Hynes makes a great point about the source of the latest anti-Palin nuttiness — the McCain staffers who keep wanting to shift blame off of themselves:
Look, I worked on the McCain campaign. Palin had her shortcomings, but she also brought some incredible strengths to the campaign. And perhaps the McCain staffers who continue to trash the governor are deflecting attention away from how remarkably screwed up and dysfunctional the operation was even before the Palin pick. What I don’t understand is this: Why would anyone hire a bunch of campaign staffers after watching how viciously they are attacking their former employer?
I’m pretty sure none of the obvious sources on this story will work on national campaigns again, not after the backbiting and disloyalty they’ve put on display for the rest of the world to see.

It’s obvious that MSNBC has a “conservative slot” much in the way Andrew Sullivan is a “conservative” by some lights.
evergreen on July 1, 2009 at 12:13 PM
Bashing George W Bush isn’t working, they need a conservative target, they think this will raise their ratings. They are such huge losers. The folks they are trying to attract eyeballs. The People Magazine Folks, don’t care, their American Idol Candidate Won…this is pathetic. Anyone who watches the news knows the score. I like watching them desperately trying to cling to their loser format which appears to be programing for TROLLS. They thought they would turn Obama into a ratings grabber the exact opposite happened. HE told them I am more over exposed than Paris Hilton. He is correct and it doesn’t help that he is on TV everyday. So they bash Palin hoping someone will tune in. I don’t need to watch Progressive Propaganda….apparently I am not alone.
Dr Evil on July 1, 2009 at 12:14 PM
You have to understand what the mindset is like inside the beltway right now. As far as these guys are concerned, from now on there will only be One campaign and One campaigner.
And if they aren’t in His good graces, they will never have a job again.
logis on July 1, 2009 at 12:15 PM
Icky. Andrew Sullivan’s conservative slot.
EMD on July 1, 2009 at 12:16 PM
Other than singing Greatest American Hero, what was Scarborough’s claim to fame?
What a butthole!
Lanceman on July 1, 2009 at 12:18 PM
It just gets clearer and clearer that Sarah Palin is a regular person; she’s a lot like me and my friends. And the fake “regular people”, the politicians and the wanna-be journalists, are furious because the more we see and hear her, the faker they look and sound.
And because they really believe they are better than her/me.
NellE on July 1, 2009 at 12:20 PM
Liberals fear Sarah Palin because they know she is a formidable force.
That’s why they malign her.
She resonates with many of us because she is a state-educated person who got into politics without the blessing of the media, without the usual Ivy League academic credentials, and who doesn’t need strategists to guide her every move.
molonlabe28 on July 1, 2009 at 12:33 PM
Mike Allen, Willy Geist, and Joe Scarborough: I would not hire for a job. I would not permit to enter my house. I would not tolerate dining and conversing with and would tell all to keep on moving if paused in front of me.
Sarah Palin: Would be welcome in my home. Would be welcome to dinner. Would be welcome to spend time with my kids. Most of all, would be entrusted to lead and govern for me.
Mike Allen, Willy Geist, and Joe Scarborough are not fit to wash and fold Sarah Palin’s laundry. Let alone judge her.
MoCoM on July 1, 2009 at 12:34 PM
MSNBC only has 1 million viewers.. why bother to mention them at all?
val647 on July 1, 2009 at 12:36 PM
Here’s the tough truth for you people. You can write little comments on Hot Air all day long, but these moron DC Republicans aren’t going to go away and there not going to change their minds miraculously unless and until SarahPAC brings in a ton of cash and doles it out in 2010.
Sorry.
And I hope that if she does anything in the future that she does not use them. Oh, wait, is that “vindictive?” Call it vindictive if you want. I say the Republican trash trolling the DC gutters don’t deserve to work on any honorable project. She should hire a bunch of state leaders, the best fundraisers from a bunch of states, several folks from the best think tanks, and move on without these greedy people who have no values whatsoever. They are the people who would lobby against their own country or their own mother if a fat paycheck was coming their way for doing it. Screw em.
thebadoutlaw on July 1, 2009 at 12:42 PM
When I first saw Joe Scarborough, he was doing his nightly show, Scarborough Country. He seemed like he actually had half a clue. Now, he is nothing more than a marionette for Jeffrey Immelt and is no different from the rest of the Obamaphiles on MSNBC.
kingsjester on July 1, 2009 at 12:45 PM
isnt it interesting that all of the McCain people who are fans of Palin and defend her ARE willing to go on the record. They sure dont seem worried to have their names connected with Palin. All of the clowns who are bashing her are anonymous cowards. They should be shunned for life.
ousoonerfan15 on July 1, 2009 at 12:47 PM
The irony with these stories is that they only make Sarah Palin stronger and more beloved; while at the same time diminshes the already awful reputation of the people saying these things about her.
Norwegian on July 1, 2009 at 12:47 PM
Simple diversion. What has Sarah Palin done in the last few months? Appear at fundraisers? Who cares?
They avoid any coverage about what’s happening in the US and the world.
Maybe Palin will tell them to do their job. She’s not the story; cap and trade, nationalized healthcare, Honduras, Iran and North Korea should provide ample work for them. If they need more, they can look at the “to do list” that HuffPo and MSNBC just handed Obama.
djaymick on July 1, 2009 at 12:49 PM
Thanks for sharing that. But please, give the “N” word (neocon) a rest, please? It’s so 9/10.
Just curious-since when is having a “dysfunctional family” been a no-no for a President? The last 3 Democrat Presidents all had such families-Jimmy Carter’s brother was a drunk to took a piss on a runway in public once, Bill Clinton’s brother was a drug dealer, and O’bama came from a broken home.
Del Dolemonte on July 1, 2009 at 12:50 PM
heh. He’s just a Starbucks schill to me. Who give’s a rats’ ass what he has to say about anything?
BrideOfRove on July 1, 2009 at 12:55 PM
Brad Thor on Glenn Beck. Don’t blame me I voted for Sarah Palin
V15J on July 1, 2009 at 12:55 PM
I think the reason a lot of people don’t understand that is because it’s just too damned obvious.
To people who experience the world through the media prism (which includes all liberals, and more than a few conservatives), seeing a normal human being moving in these circles appears bizarre. They’re so used to the 24-hour-a-day freak show modern politics have become that their minds recoil at the sight of someone who doesn’t “fit in” with that venue.
logis on July 1, 2009 at 12:57 PM
Ugh. AP is going to link to even a nastier anonymous sources article. I’m not registered at Washington Times other wise I would post a comment there. To add insult to injury they add at the end that they want to help her, while they are really demanding that she drop out of politics for her family’s sake. What pigs.
Blake on July 1, 2009 at 12:57 PM
She’s doing a good job not telling her plans until last moment , keeping her enemies frustrated and guessing.
the_nile on July 1, 2009 at 12:59 PM
Let’s please stop attacking the media. They’re just doing their jobs that the administration would want them to do.
Attacking Gov. Palin might be the only way they can stay employed. So please, before you offend someone in here, remember that you must be sensitive to their feelings.
Jeff from WI on July 1, 2009 at 1:02 PM
I saw that Blake. She has “demons”. First of all its another “anonymous” source so that shows how much time the writer did researching who he was talking too.
ousoonerfan15 on July 1, 2009 at 1:03 PM
It amazes me that the WINOS of the party think that they are going to change it into what they want by bashing Palin and bashing the beliefs of the majority of the party. All they will do is turn people away from national politics completely. I’m sure they think they will attract enough donks to replace them, but then again, they are on the drugs they are always demanding we legalize.
Blake on July 1, 2009 at 1:07 PM
Scarborough is a neo-statist on a liberal leash. He’s Olbermann’s bitch, plain and simple. Sadly, his book is bombing. Why? Because he’s out of touch with what’s happening in the conservative movement.
WordsMatter on July 1, 2009 at 1:10 PM

myrenovations on July 1, 2009 at 1:12 PM
I’ve learned that some in here are VERY sensitive so I must watch what I say and I’d advise you the same. It’s a very thin skinned bunch in HA
Jeff from WI on July 1, 2009 at 1:15 PM
What happened to Joe Scarburro? Wasn’t he a conservative at one time?
Sad – he’s let his leftist network brainwash him – he must not have been as mentally strong as previously thought by us.
HondaV65 on July 1, 2009 at 1:51 PM
Joe Scarborough is a whore. Any dead women show up in his office recently?
bw222 on July 1, 2009 at 1:59 PM
I happen to believe the DNC and RNC are enemies of the republic…pure and simple.
Which is why I like what I see of Palin. She is anti-status-quo and completely un-PC. Whether or not she runs for prez, I like having her around. maybe she can be part of the resistance when people figure out that our leaders no longer represent us.
Goodeye_Closed on July 1, 2009 at 2:05 PM
He’s just like most other media pundits out there….He will say whatever gets the ratings or will ingratiate himself with their corporate masters. If Soros had a prime time slot opening in some new network he created, joe would become Olbermann overnight. Rush Limbaugh is the only incorruptable one out there….and notice he is on radio and has no corporate master. he owns his “network”.
Goodeye_Closed on July 1, 2009 at 2:12 PM
If Sarah Palin were the bitch the anonymous McCain staffers claim she is, wouldn’t we have seen it by now? Palin and her family have been trashed non-stop by the media, Democrats and RINOs for 10 months now.
She must be one strong women because this onslaught coupled with the birth of a special needs child and bristol’s pregnancy would have destroyed most men and women. The more her enemies trash her, the more her base grows to love and respect her.
bw222 on July 1, 2009 at 2:25 PM
Gee…I wonder why McCain lost…….

Screw em Jeff! This is not a popularity contest here. State your views within the guidelines of the rules, and be proud of those views…
Keemo on July 1, 2009 at 2:51 PM
Yeah, they hacked her email and put the whole account on the internet and reported it in the media for cryin’ out loud!
If there was nothing too incriminating there, I say there’s nothing left to find. It’s really unbelievable how such a hate campaign can go on so publicly without a huge backlash. Oh well, It’s obvious anything goes anymore and the people in the US are under the influence of opium.
Goodeye_Closed on July 1, 2009 at 3:28 PM
If the GOP insiders continue to unfairly attack Sarah, it won’t matter to me if Romney wins the primary and takes on Obama.
I’d rather take my chances against Obama and the Dems with a Kalishnykov or AR-15, than go through another case of a GOP POTUS increasing the size of government.
I’d rather have a shooting war with against a tyrant as opposed to getting screwed by another GOP who once in office turns leftward.
Sapwolf on July 1, 2009 at 3:34 PM
Would that I could. But within two days I’ve evidently said things that two people found insensitive. One even cried. I therefore, will have the view everyone else has, unless that view offends someone.
Jeff from WI on July 1, 2009 at 3:35 PM
I’m starting to feel the same exact way. There is no love lost between myself and the GOP.
BPD on July 1, 2009 at 3:38 PM
Throw in the rigorous schedule and the fact she got very fewer chances to run or exercise to deal with the work stress along with shackling her down.
It is amazing she didn’t go postal at a campaign meeting with these jerks.
Nobody has had to go through what she has in a national campaign with little time to get up to speed with the unprecedented MSM slamming her and her children 24/7.
Who could have done what she did under those circumstances and still almost get McCain to victory.
If I were in her shoes, I’d be pissed off at McCain’s people and be REALLY pissed we lost the election.
She don’t like losin. Anybody ever notice that?
Sapwolf on July 1, 2009 at 3:38 PM
HotAir Poll:
Is Jeff from WI a ‘concern troll’?
Not makin fun, just curious if his behavior is what the internet world calls a concern troll.
It seems like it to me.
Sapwolf on July 1, 2009 at 3:42 PM
Amen…I still get the get out the vote flyers from the GOP but they go straight in the trash. I view them with the same disdain I do the democrats. This coming from someone who was a die hard republican just recently.
Goodeye_Closed on July 1, 2009 at 3:44 PM
The best reason to be in the GOP is to get e-mails and letters from the RNC just so you can write them back and tell them to f themselves and mention another donation to SarahPAC.
Why is it whenever a woman gets pissed off at the incompetence or underperformance of a team she is labeled a ‘diva’? Not saying Sarah did that, but this woman worked hard for so many undeserving unprofessional jerks.
Sapwolf on July 1, 2009 at 3:45 PM
Actually, they would make perfect flunkies for any Democrat running for office in 2010 or 2012: backbiting and disloyalty are considered virtuous traits on the left.
VibrioCocci on July 1, 2009 at 3:57 PM
Ouch! I believe you’ll have less chance upsetting someone if you change flunkie to person of lower school grading level.
Jeff from WI on July 1, 2009 at 4:10 PM
I’m really tired of seeing these gossip whores getting called ‘conservative” commentators.
Al-in-Baja on July 1, 2009 at 4:23 PM
Look at this way, no one cares what these people say anyway.
Terrye on July 1, 2009 at 4:49 PM
Good riddance on all of them, now please shut up!!
Just like I commented in the headline story:
What we are witnessing, is a slow moving train wreck, (played out in slow motion) with the head locomotive (McCain) already crashed. The train cars in tow (campaign operatives) are still crashing very sloooowly…. one-by-one.
I, for one, was hoping this train would crash faster, but apparently no such luck, as I really wanted to see the end of it – the last car, but at this rate, when the caboose (Meghan) crashes, I will have lost interest.
:)

Hear that GOP? We think you are slime. We can do this without you. Get a real job.
Geochelone on July 1, 2009 at 5:18 PM
Where did all the money come from to keep McCain’s campaign going ? I suspect that George Soros is behind Mickey Mouse remaining in the campaign and the attacks/ethics complaints against Palin
hamradio on July 1, 2009 at 5:20 PM
That wasn’t Joe Scarborough, that was Joey Scarbury. My husband and I have done business with him a couple of times, actually. He’s a very nice guy. No idea about his politics, but that doesn’t bother me a bit!
Mary in LA on July 1, 2009 at 6:55 PM
I don’t blame the GOP for this. Palin is part of the GOP. I blame some jealous and petty people.
Terrye on July 1, 2009 at 7:16 PM
I don’t intend to do so! GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT?
BobAnthony on July 2, 2009 at 8:19 AM
I love reading HA because it is an oasis of sanity in a sea of madness;I am amazed that all the posters are nearly 100% pro-Palin.Check some other sites and you will see that libs have transferred their derangement from Bush to Sarah.I like Ziegler because he’s not afraid to get in somebody’s face.If Sarah does run in 2012,John needs to be her spokesman. That would be fun.I am fully convinced Romney is behind the backstabbing because he intends to run again in 2012,and sees Sarah as his biggest competition.Mittens has millions to fund himself with, but I think there are millions of middle-class people(like me)who would help the governor in any way we can.
pistolpetestoys on July 2, 2009 at 8:48 AM
I just heard a report that Biden was at an announced in advance, planned meeting near Erie Pa., to discuss the Obama stimulus plan, and he got less than 100 people to show up. His “people” started removing chairs in an effort to make the room look fuller.
Sarah, unannounced, could get 1000 people to show up to watch her sit in line waiting to get the car oil changed.
So who’s the pathetic loser?
Jeff from WI on July 2, 2009 at 9:30 AM
Ahhhh, finally the worm is turning. Good article on RCP today about how even the insiders are now saying, “Enuf.”
AnninCA on July 2, 2009 at 9:57 AM
Well, goes to show you they aren’t happy seeing the country go to hell. They want more broth in the their ‘misery soup’ and we need to pick up and start bulldozing over some of this sh*t. I think we’ve had enough, don’t you? Another half-million jobs gone for June alone after all this spending. 2010 and 2012 people. If we can make it that long. Oh but Michael Jackson gets a period of silence, boo hoo. I am so sick of the loser and sympathy mentality. Time for strong effort and measurable progress. Heck, elect me dammit.
johnnyU on July 2, 2009 at 10:47 AM
Nonsense….let em’ cry. We’re all grown-ups.
AnninCA on July 2, 2009 at 12:56 PM
People bash Palin because she’s an uneducated moron. If she gets anywhere near the Presidential ticket in 2012, the Republican party is done for.
SpencerFan on July 2, 2009 at 1:10 PM
Did Palin personally take a dump in the entire media’s grande latte?
The hate for her rivals W.’s.
I say the bashers, aka Palinphobes, are deep in the closet. Secretly, they all want to be sexually dominated by her. It’s the only explanation. Using liberal logic, of course. Liberals say that people against gay rights or lifestyle are homophobes. But deep down they are really closet homosexuals. If that’s true, which is ridiculous, then that must be the case. Their hatred for Palin must mean they want to be sexually dominated by her.
See, in in the liberal world if you hate something, you really want to be it. If you hate cauliflower, deep down you want to eat a whole lot of it.

SpencerFan
As opposed to a supposedly overly educated President who does not know the correct number of States in the Union , who without TOTUS is a very terrible public speaker and who btw , for all his supposed academic accomplishment, nobody seems to have an idea how his academic grades really stacked up . Which reminds me , can you tell me SpencerFan on where can I find any articles or editorials he wrote as an editor in the Harvard Law Review ? Can you present me Constitutional articles that he submitted for peer review during his time as a lecturer/professor at UIC ??
How about bills that he wrote by himself without the help of Emil Jones during his stint as State Senator ? How about as Junior Senator of Illinois ??
You see,Spencer Fan,Sarah Palin’s achievements or lack thereof makes it easier to know what type of person Sarah Palin is and for an uneducated moron , she actually have a damn clue about the real world as opposed to the highly educated Obama .
Tell me Spencer Fan , with all due honesty , how would Obama really perform without the help of his media enablers , his political contacts and the Daley Machine ? In my opinion,he would not be electable for any government position .
