The Old McCain Tradition: [ride your daddy's coattails in order to build a career] serving your country.

The Progressive McCain Tradition: [ride your daddy's coattails in order to build a career] schmoozing w/ the glitterati. Pretend to have something valid to say. Tell people what it's like to live in the WH when you never have. Suggest that a beautiful actress would be required to play your character, while failing to acknowledge that the woman you hate for undermining your own hauteur status already has been played by a hot actress.

Next step: the self-marketing phone call to Letterman to promote the new book [while riding Daddy's coattails.] Further alienate conservatives by using irresponsible/or pedophilia-suggesting non-creative not-funny comedian and irrationally liberal audience for shameless capitalization on Washington-insider status. "Isn't it funny the noises people make when you stab them in the back?!" (Giggle)

Ms. Mac: do America a favor and go back to living in that neat little place your Mom and Dad bought for you. Start re-writing your memoirs so that by the time you've actually done something, people will have already read about it.

Job security is certainly an issue, but also Schmidt's desire to see the party move to the left. Remember his defense of Fr. Jenkins' honoring of Obama at Notre Dame? Remember his speech to the Log Cabin Republicans? Hello? He says it right here for you:

But people can change. I hope she can too…for her sake and for our party’s.”…

He told you himself what his motivation is........if he is telling the truth about his motivation.

It's simply a fact that the establishment is scared to death of conservatives and the tea party movement. It's a fact that they've been grooming Paul Ryan (who voted for TARP I) to be a "Palin-substitute". Check to see who it was who intro'd Gingrich at the House-Senate fundraiser. That plan's not panning out, though, because they don't get that the admiration for Palin has actually very little to do with youth and sex appeal and has everything to do with Reagan's brand of conservatism.

Mr. Wallace would be Mark Wallace, not Mike Wallace. Did you get them confused?
cs89 on July 2, 2009 at 10:17 AM

Yes I did. Thanks for the correction. It was late and there were too many Wallace names spinning around my head.
At some point they sound all the same to me, since they basically behave the same, and they are in the media and political spectrum revolving door loop.

The good-ol-boys in the GOP have already disenfranchised themselves from conservative voters.

&& I'm not giving another dime to the GOP until Palin is at the top of the ticket.

I'll vote GOP, but I won't donate/volunteer.

With each passing report of Palin-bashing the left galvanizes the Palin backers more to defend her, and make more people on the fence wondre why keep attacking a woman, and her family, who has done nothing wrong. Guaranteed the Letterman attack on a little girl opened a lot of peoples eyes.

The upshot: Fingers a-pointin’ at Steve Schmidt, Nicolle Wallace, and her husband, all three of whom have been prime suspects in the Palin sniping since the campaign ended.

And Nicolle Wallace's husband would be who?

DING DING DING DING!!

No more hiding behind this veil of secrecy Mike Wallace! We know you would love to have your Diva wife be as successful as the Diva Palin is, but no such luck you lackey!

Sorry!

Folks, this also explains why Mike Gonzales (a good friend of M. Wallace) doesn't like Palin and expresses his reasoning pretty the same way as this last paragraph (now read it again slowly... and imagine Mike Wallace's chops moving):

“You’d think that at some point, even Palin’s formidable armor of self-deception would so loudly clang against reality that she’d be forced to change. I doubt that though. Introspection doesn’t seem to be her strong-suit. But people can change. I hope she can too…for her sake and for our party’s.”…

“It’s more sad for me because I think she is a great political talent and could have a future or some sort of role but she has these demons that she can’t shake and I think its’ unfortunate she has this ability to disconnect herself from reality when things go wrong and she has this total lack of introspection,” he said.

Now.

Did you see in your mind's eye, Mike Wallace's chops literally moving with these words?
Ding! Ding! Ding!

Now, doesn't that also remind you of similar words that Mike Gonzales has used about Palin?

Exactly.

Now, here's why I suspect M. Wallace and not Schmidt, simply because the latter still has (in his mind) a political operative future, whereas the former, doesn't have such a job and therefore as a pundit and TV host doesn't have that much too lose.

All involved, must after all keep in their mind, that these anonymous sources might become public at some time, so therefore for Schmidt to do such a thing, he knows, would kill his chances as a campaign manager.

Now, I am sure that this all started right after the campaign, with just a little, what they thought, harmless jab at Palin, but then when it leaked out as viral gossip fodder to the liberal media and hit the 24/7 media cycle, they had to double down and make it sound legit and on the up and up, as best as they could.

This could get real interesting, but I would bet real money that this is indeed Mike Wallace (and maybe teamed with his wife) doing.

This is complicated by the fact that the players involved who could more directly suspect and blame M. Wallace, are giving him too much slack here, as if in disbelief that he could do such a thing, but mark my words, these words are exactly that of M. Wallace!

Hey, McCrank, I think I figured out the big reason you got crushed by a powermongering community organizer: The s***bricks that ran your campaign spent more time and energy attacking your running mate than they ever did trying to actually campaign against the neophyte that's now destroying the country.

Thanks a heap, ya gunch.

Had these people spent even a fraction of the time they spent and continue to spend on backstabbing and petty squabbling on actually running a decent campaign, they might have actually won.

No one seriously believes McCain crashed and burned because of Palin.

It's interesting to watch your subtle subterfuge, allah. Your aid in the revising of history. The clear and obvious fact is that mccain would have lost by 15 points if it were not for Palin. I would not have gone to the polls if he had picked lieberman or any of his toadies or just about anyone for that matter except for a couple of people. I had a few million fellow travelors that day. It's alway been clear that you are a schumer/hillary voter. That explains how you can sleep at night.

Oh, and if you think the McCain dish on Sarahcuda is over now, think again. Meggie Mac told the New York Daily News today that her forthcoming book will indeed include a chapter on Palin. Where do I go to pre-order?

People write coloring books now?

Folks, can you imagine what would’ve happened if McCain had actually won? LOL

The NY Times would have a continuous stream of White House insider leaks?

To be honest, I think if McCain had won Sarah Palin would've been forced out in favor of someone more to his liking. Her "functionality" as far as McCain is concerned would've been over.

Meggie Mac - The Paris Hilton of the political class.

Romney - The fact that he prides himself on the abomonination affectionately known as RomneyCare is reason enough to be hesitant at best to vote for him.

McCain's handlers - tearing down Palin and probably working for and/or supporting Romney. If he can take her out in the primaries, they can say "See I told ya so" and if not will try to damage her enough for the general election to say it then.

Obama - probably cocky enough not to care right now. If she can somehow run the gauntlet, then he may deign to notice her. But, he will still give her the Chicago treatment, all the while the press will be in awe of how wonderful He is. Besides, he doesn't have to do anything when people supposedly on her own side are willing to destroy her.

Palin - Imperfect (like all people), but I think she is far and away the best person out there. I am seriously hoping she can sail through the storm and is inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2013. But first we need a Congressional house cleaning between now and then.

Like who? Give me some names, and I will tear down every one of them. And if I can do it, the state-run media can do it too.

I think that highhopes is having a difficult time Googling "conservative women".

I had asked for a list of 5, as had others. No reply.
