Fist thing Republicans need to do when they get back in power is pass a law making it illegal to vote on a bill that has not been prepared a set time before it's due to be voted on.

Either that or a law demanding that your representatives read each piece of legislation they vote on.

I can't see them do the latter but one can dream.

[...] A second Hot Air piece about the corruption in the cap-and-trade bill. Remember that last-minute, 300-page amendment to the cap-and-trade bill that hit the House just hours before the vote approving it? The one that Democrats insisted on putting up for a vote before anyone had the chance to read it? When one reads the contents of it, as the Washington Times’ Edward Felker did, it becomes apparent why Henry Waxman and Edward Markey pushed it through so quickly. It was a payoff for Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) to turn her back on coal-producing Ohio and vote to kill the economy in her state, and she wasn’t alone… [...]

Where's the money coming from?
The people who make less then $250,000 per year, without a doubt. Fannie and Freddie will be in charge of "energy essential housing" (here we go again) and last but not least the corporations will get 85% of the "cap and trade" money. The poor get energy efficient housing for low cost, Corporations get 85% of the proposed money in cap and trade, the middle class pays for it all. Who didn't see that coming?

I wonder what kind of payola the 8 traitorous republicans got for their vote. The congress truly believes that they own the money supply and they are free to dish it out in any quantity they choose.

Dude. She represents NW Ohio...i.e. Toledo...aka the armpit of Ohio politics.

Toledo and the how wetern Lake Erie corridor is a barren wasteland of bad fiscal responsibility, with a long history or corruption. Kaptur is def part of the problem.

I've got money she was in on the JTP take-down, too.

I say pay attention to what these clowns do, and then when we get back in power do the same thing. Except what we ram through in the dead of night will be a total de-funding of all these boondoggles. Wanna get rid of the NEA, EPA, NPR etc.? Well they just showed us how. Declare a crisis and ram it through.

The only way we'll have a lasting victory over these clowns is by taking away their money (which is our money).

I just re-read the story of what happened to the signers of the Declaration of Idependence, how much they put on the line and lost.

I feel safe in saying our political class probably could not muster 56 such people so willing to risk it all for the rest of us.

Between the Apologia Tour, Crap+Tax, Iran and Honduras, I am ashamed of my country for the first time in my life. So glad Michelle is proud of it.

Really, I was thinking that Tort Reform would be a good start for healthcare issues and Term Limits would be a great solution for these corruptocrats, but honestly, these trains are so far down the tracks that there is no shot in hell of backing up to the station. We might as well just jump to the end of the book and put ourselves out of our misery.

I wonder what I can get for suicide assistance, think it will be enough to put my kids through college?

Why do you think the libs want to take away guns from the citizens? They’ll cover this issue after putting the last stake through the heart of the American economy when the Nationalized Healthcare bill gets passed. Well, I take that back, first they’ll grant amnesty to all of the illegals then they’ll deconstruct the 2nd Amendment.

Geministorm on July 1, 2009 at 12:51 PM

If it ever gets to a WROL (Without Rule of Law... AKA SHTF) situation the revolution will start immediately methinks. An attempt to seize guns will be seen as an act of war by the gun holders... and they probably own enough guns to arm sympathizers as well.

Wheeeeeeee!

We need to make political corruption punishable by death.

I agree, though I would start with term limits first, but I agree. If you as a senator, congressman, or president are caught taking so much as one dollar more from some such source or another you get a bullet to the head.

They’ll cover this issue after putting the last stake through the heart of the American economy when the Nationalized Healthcare bill gets passed. Well, I take that back, first they’ll grant amnesty to all of the illegals then they’ll deconstruct the 2nd Amendment.

If it ever gets to a WROL (Without Rule of Law… AKA SHTF) situation the revolution will start immediately methinks. An attempt to seize guns will be seen as an act of war by the gun holders… and they probably own enough guns to arm sympathizers as well.

I agree, though I would start with term limits first, but I agree. If you as a senator, congressman, or president are caught taking so much as one dollar more from some such source or another you get a bullet to the head.

Wheeeeeeee!

We need to make political corruption punishable by death.

Hold strong Flyover. If this keeps up you might have a shot at putting a bullet through your congressman’s head if a revolution starts.

Why do you think the libs want to take away guns from the citizens? They'll cover this issue after putting the last stake through the heart of the American economy when the Nationalized Healthcare bill gets passed. Well, I take that back, first they'll grant amnesty to all of the illegals then they'll deconstruct the 2nd Amendment.

The big printer and they will keep printing until inflation reachs a point where we wish for Carters time. My heart is hurting for my Country.

Can my family send Congress a $3,000 bill for the bullet I use to end my misery?

I’m being facetious with that comment, but this orgy of corruption would make Stalin blush.

I wonder what kind of payola the 8 traitorous republicans got for their vote.

Dumbasses probably got nothing.
It seems to me that the dem strategy is that they have to destroy the economy in order to save it. I cannot see any other explanation.
Besides, the loon from San Francisco is on a mission to save the planet!
