The problem may reduce itself to who has the most of a substantially reduced pie, and the most guns.

No question that Bama and cadre are going to frag the economy, intentionally or not (I think the former). When everything fades, people get real focused on tomorrow and will take action to get tomorrow’s crust. Dependency, and viewing your neighbor as a competitor, not a neighbor. The Nazi takeover is a classic proof of what an otherwise educated and civilized population will do under certain pressures. Russia prior to the Bolsheviks, ditto.

Bama is a Marxist and acolyte of Alisky. Most of his close cadre is similarly oriented. Of course he and Chavez are buds. Duh. There is absolutely NOTHING in Bama’s history and this judgement. That he successfully presented a blank slate for the incurious and emotional to write their hopes upon, and got elected as POTUS, does not change his past or anything he has DONE. When the chips are down, he goes left. Period. Anyone surprised by his gyrations didn’t do their homework.

But, what the hell, Porkulus and Climate Change passed without anyone doing their homework, knowing what they were voting for. Why should the unwashed aspire to more?

I am not sure about the whole amnesty thing. Even the Democrats are talking border security first. It is one thing to talk about immigration when the unemployment rate is 4.5% and people need the labor, it is something else when the rate is pushing 10%. I am not sure how that will work out. Immigration reform maybe, but I am not sure the Democrats will go for full blown amnesty.

But, who knows what these guys will do?

This is another sign that we need to focus on running conservatives in 2010.

Either the voters are going to be happy with Obamanomics, Obamacare, and Obama-run-a-you-life or they aren’t.

There’s a decent book……. “The Crisis Preparedness Handbook – A Comprehensive Guide To Home Storage And Physical Survival” by Jack A Spigarelli.

There’s allot of other very good ‘SHTF’ books, but this is the one I bought.

If you don’t own a firearm, y’all git on out there and buy one TOMORROW… take the day off if you have to.

Best home defense item is a 12 gauge shotgun. If you’re smaller in stature, make it a 20 gauge.

Nothing makes people think twice more than the quite lovely sound of “Snap ! Clack !” from a pump shotty, because that they know exactly what’s next and what’s next after the Snap ! Clack ! ain’t really a howwwwwdy ho.

I’d also suggest getting a handgun….. good luck finding ammo for that.

Get a safe too.

Why don’t environmentalists oppose amnesty and illegal immigration? I did some napkin calculations today and calculated that the 20 million illegals require the output of 58 2.5 GW coal fired power plants to support their electricity needs. I didn’t determine how many million tons of CO2 that would result in.

It seems the enviros are supporting pols who are making AGW worse, not better.

If the Dems pass all of Bill Press’ agenda, they will lose seats in 2010. The disatisfied progressives will vote for them regardless of whether they pass this nonsense because they have nothing else. The moderates and independents will not like what they are seeing and vote against giving the Democrats another blank check.

The Dims would be better served to keep their agenda as a goal to work for in some future better world. If they actually get their ideas enacted, people would see how ineffective and counterproductive (not to mention expensive and frustrating) their ideas are.

First, the German’s were educated with crap philosophy. Almost every bad modern idea has come from Germany as well as the worst philosophers, it is no surprise that minds loaded up with crap turn ugly under pressure. Second, the Russian populace was never an educated one, quite the opposite. They were the most backward of the European nations and were not a part of the industrial revolution at all. All their factories were built by the West in the 1920s.

I’m not saying that I think you’re wrong about what might happen I just think the conditions aren’t quite comparable and we have much more hope than they did in either of those countries.

Edward R. Murrow had a series (and it was before my time but my dad bought me the lp collection because I was an undatable geek of a kid like that) called “You are there”. It put you inside history. Next to James Burkes “Connections” series I think it’s my favorite thing to listen to. If there is a silver lining to what is happening here and now – it’s that this feels historic and how many times can you say “You were there” when the world transformed for bad or good?

At this point we are just along for the ride and if you can’t do anything about it you should at least be able to apprecieate the “Black Swan” wonder of it all. We weren’t there for the beginning of this magnificent experiment, but we ARE here for the end. It feels like we are dinning in the Restaurant at the End of the Universe without the ability to jump back to a safer time. If we are honest, I think everyone knows where this freak show is going. If we are pragmatic, we are preparing and doing what little we can to mitigate the fall out. But – the part of you that must take risks and needs that adrenaline to make life worth living – has got to be a little drawn by the wonder of this time. Keep a diary. Someday, your grandkids are going to want to know what it was like to see freedom fall and you are going to want them to know even if you aren’t there to tell them.

I am booked at a hotel 2 blocks from the capitol 9/11 and 9/12 for the big protest. Local tea party is tomorrow & I will be there, too.

I have my conceal carry permit and would rather die than live under a full blown fascist regime. I don’t accept ogabe as my president as he represents NOT ONE belief that I hold dear to my heart. I feel quite comfy calling what may come a revolution. I also feel very comfy holding my brand new AR15.

Just remember, conceal carry laws vary state by state; do NOT NOT NOT take your new guns and ammo across state lines – be careful and abide the laws of each state!!

If we are honest, I think everyone knows where this freak show is going. If we are pragmatic, we are preparing and doing what little we can to mitigate the fall out. But – the part of you that must take risks and needs that adrenaline to make life worth living – has got to be a little drawn by the wonder of this time. Keep a diary. Someday, your grandkids are going to want to know what it was like to see freedom fall and you are going to want them to know even if you aren’t there to tell them.

Provocative comment. But like some others have said, the 2nd Amendment makes the story different here. The final outcome might be what you envision, but we ‘aint gonna go down easy. Yep, it will be a sight to see if/when it happens. Never owned a gun before in my life. But I do now.

What’ll really make this interesting is that Obama doesn’t even have enough support from his own party to pass these horrendous pieces of legislation he wants to pass. Having Franken in the Senate doesn’t really change that. Plus, the public doesn’t like Obama’s pet legislation either, especially when they find out how expensive it is, and understand that the stimulus package hasn’t done diddly squat.

So if having Franken in there puts more pressure on Obama to try and pass this crap, it’s a win/win situation for us. Obama will further fragment his own party, while completely pissing off far left-wingers like Kos. What more could you want?

I’ve said this before, but here goes again. This was inevitable, and not reversible. Every free society has gone totalitarian if it wasn’t destroyed from the outside before it got the chance.

I’m frankly amazed it happened this quickly, I just knew I (and probably my kids) would miss this. For those of you that think this will turn around in 2010, I hope you’re proven right. Being the student of history that I am, I seriously doubt it.

For all of you getting concealed-carry permits or buying guns that require you to register either yourself or your guns, the govt already has your information. They will be coming, and since they already know you are armed, they will be coming prepared.

For the rest, who managed to buy guns legally but out of govt oversight, continue to prepare. Stock up. Learn to garden. Get very friendly with as many neighbors as possible so you already have a local support network in place when the inevitable comes.
