So, basically, the guy got impeached by the rest of the government, and the news and all diplomats being quoted are calling it a coup.
I have to say I give the benefit of the doubt to anyone who irritates Chavez.

Kinda. He was removed by force but they had legal justification for it.

To have killed him would have been to appear illegitimate, if they want to be seen as legally removing him from power.

The problem, of course, is that thanks to the media and the leftist governments around the planet they already look illegitimate. And now these outside forces have a living rally point and goal to reach. Put the very much alive Zelaya back in power.

There is now way they choreographed this in two days. This had to be a living tribute….

This is so damn sad…. Is there another option other than… human[ity]?

I recently viewed a complete news story on their dance routines. This takes place in a Philipine maximum security prison and the warden is a great fan of MJ. There was also trouble in the prison so to “give the inmates sometihning positive to do”, he required all inmates to participate in dance training that lasted 4 hours each day. They perform for their families and guiests once each month. According to the story, trouble in the prison has decreased substancially since this program started; I believe about 4 years ago.

I'd tend to believe that as most dancers are a bit light in the loafers so about the only arguments would be on outfits and whether the color of their cell clashes with the bars.

This may be the only salute to Jacko you’ll see this week featuring actual child molesters.

No doubt.
My family & I are very involved with a home in the Philippines that rescues children from situtations of serial child sexual abuse. Please click on this link to find out more & to help:

Remember, even a small gift goes a long way in that Third World economy.

Depends upon the severity. In Obama's case I think the cliff analogy might be better, indicating the straightest possible course downward; freefall.

I’m starting to think they should have Zelaya when they had the chance this morning. No more Zelaya no more problem. These are cults of personality cutting off the head kills the snake.

The firestorm would have been the same but it would have denied the leftists an important piece on the chessboard.

Now all the leftists like Obama and Chavez have a rallying point and a goal which is to put Zelaya back in power.

Aptly put. Without the stabilizing influence of a strong US, the worlds tyrants will take advantage. First a few, taking small actions here and there, then as more crises develop, along with the perception that a weak president is overwhelmed and unable to cope, the problems will only continue to cascade. I’m not a big Bush fan, but he did bring a degree of stability to the world for several years, so all of the tyrants that have had their ambition pent up for all that time will likely come out of the woodwork, exacerbating the problem further.

I believe most of us were talking about that very thing... about a year ago.
Death Spiral, or just driving off a cliff?

We are now beginnging to see the death sprial of weak foreign policy we have been placed in by Obama, where we careen from one crisis to another in an ever increasing cascade, that due to his ineptitude, will remain poorly managed and unresolved.

Lets hope. his swearing in was televised and shown in snippets on Spanish language TV (univision and telemundo) earlier and they laid out why it was done.

That’s the fly in Obama’s ointment, isn’t it. That’s the part that’s going to screw up his plans.

I don't see how Obama can allow Chavez free reign in Latin America especially if he goes to war with Honduras.

I guess he's already made a statement, it's just not on Fox News TV. Ah, well, it's Sunday, maybe it will get more thorough coverage tomorrow.

Obama, Ban Ki-moon, Hillary and anybody else that's made ignorant comments regarding this "coup" should have their faces rubbed in their own embarrassment when people learn the truth.

If the new president makes a public statement or holds a press conference, I hope he challenges Chavez/Obama's notion that their efforts to preserve the constitutional government of Honduras against a man who placed himself above it is somehow a coup. He won't be able to sway Chavez/Obama's opinions so if he feels he needs to sway American opinion he should talk to the American people and challenge Obama/Chavez.

Mind you Obama just sent Chavez an ambassador to kiss his a$$.

Just heard parts of speech Chavez gave in spanish where he said that if the new Honduran government is “sworn in” there is “a defacto state of war” between Venezuela and Honduras requiring “military force by Venezuela against Honduras”

elduende on June 28, 2009 at 6:50 PM

Roberto Micheletti has been sworn in as the Honduran President after the National Congress ousted President Zelaya from power.about 1 hour ago from BNO Headquarters

Sworn-in Honduran President Micheletti says he came to the presidency through a "completely legal process" and not as a result of a coup.
about 1 hour ago from BNO Headquarters

Honduran President Micheletti says the constitution is in force and assures there will be presidential elections in November.
about 1 hour ago from BNO Headquarters

Alfredo Saavedra is appointed as the new Honduran President of the National Congress after Micheletti is sworn in as disputed president.
about 1 hour ago from BNO Headquarters

LOL! Obama is a cretin. How he ends up in yet ANOTHER major crisis would be hilarious of it weren't so pathetic and dangerous.

Its not anything he says or does, although those are bad enough, its his very presence which causes instability in the international system, which he then compounds with his arrogance, ineptness, and naivete.

We are now beginnging to see the death sprial of weak foreign policy we have been placed in by Obama, where we careen from one crisis to another in an ever increasing cascade, that due to his ineptitude, will remain poorly managed and unresolved.

The interesting thing of course is that Chavez like the Iranians needs us to be the “enemy” more than they need good relations with us.

That's the fly in Obama's ointment, isn't it. That's the part that's going to screw up his plans.

...Maybe a press conference, assuming it would be broadcast globally so that the world can draw their own conclusions without being filtered through regional press.

In what can only be described as "accidental reporting" this short story in the NYTimes actually lays out the simple facts on what the ex president was trying to pull off ala Chavez.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/29/world/americas/29honduras.html?_r=1

The ugly truth in Central America when it comes to leftists like Chavez is the price of life is very cheap. He will use all his monies to destroy Honduras aided and abetted by the pedophile/rapist in Nicaragua. We should have allowed these rabid dogs to be shot years ago.

Obama may see a regional war more helpful to his agenda than a local one.

petefrt on June 28, 2009 at 6:46 PM

Man, I don't see how Obama can benefit from a crisis that then leads to war, where Venezuela is seen as picking on a smaller country, for whatever reason, and then lets them get away with it. Very bad for us, and Honduras, but also very bad for his agenda and his polling...

Then again, I'm looking at this from an American perspective and not from Obama's (whatever that is).
