1In the beginning was Barry and the Barry was with God, and the Barry was God. 2He was with God in the beginning.

3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

6There came a man who was sent from God; his name was Rahm. 7He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. 8He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.

Why do I keep picturing Michael Stipe from REM sitting behind a keyboard spewing forth his liberal genius?
REM, by the way, from Athens, GA.

Just don't wait too long, if you want to go military. Personally, I hate flying. Hate it. Go figure. I'm sure glad most don't hate it as much as I do, or we'd starve.

Of course, I hate all this 'stuff' Obama is doing to the country more! Yes, I can stay on topic, if I must.

Of course having an inept Congress, coupled with a similarly inept President helps.

I think
blatantblue on June 29, 2009 at 11:42 AM

That's a really good start. Much better than most, I'm afraid.

Do you want to fly? Ever considered the USN? I'd recommend it for aviation, otherwise, USAF probably. I love the Navy, but that haze grey and underway could get old.

My friend has a son going into his senior year of high school and he's been with a Navy recruiter most of last week. She's a little hysterical about the whole thing, but in light of the way the whole world seems about to explode, I told her he might as well pick the branch he wants now, before he gets drafted. She agreed, but the problem is, he wants to go SEAL. I think he's trying to kill her. ;)

Aren't I just a barrel of laughs?

Who’s your hubby a pilot for?

My dad was AA

blatantblue on June 29, 2009 at 11:11 AM

LUV, baby! And AA is the reason he has to commute out of Nashville. If not for them, this would be a pilot base.

Was your dad prior military, or always civilian?

My husband is a pilot, and while he’s still okay, the company has tightened up its schedule, meaning there aren’t as many trips to fly, ie not as much pay. It used to be fairly easy for them to pick up extra trips, or trade for better lines, but no one is giving things away these days. It’s only going to get worse as more people lose jobs/get pay cuts and they don’t have business to attend/can’t afford to fly. There are already several people in my neighborhood out of work, and those who’ve posted here…things are getting really scary.
And we have that man in charge. God help us…though when I think about it, I don’t really know why he would. :(

Forgot to mention this to Mr. Athensboy:

Your dogs: Joe, Mr. (unlucky), Fraise Suavage (only lefties like you would even admit to owning a piece of kibble like this), Roy J and Whisper must love it that they no longer have to listen to your voice. All dogs go to heaven, so I'm sure they will be safe in knowing that they will never see you or your blessed Messiah ever again. Hah, hah!

athensboy: you, like our other favorite troll, Mr. Drywall, must learn that if can't run with the BIGDOGS you must stay on the porch!!

Come to my house and tell me your messiah is getting things done and I'll show how we really bleed here. YOUR POTUS, not mine, is bankrupting our country and you call that getting things done, while he ignores those of us who give everything we have. Your POTOS, not mine, is the laughing stock of the entire world. Has he kissed your ass too? Seems that everyone else in the world has gotten that treatment from him.

Were you born yesterday? Do you not know anything of history besides what your MSM spoon feeds you. Your lack of understanding at what is happening here does not amaze me, what does is that you belive that your O'man is the solution to the problem.

When you decide to grow a brain that reaches beyond the synapses between your stubby digits that flick between CNN and MSNBC, come back. till then .....

STAY ON THE PORCH!!! Badddd Troll, Baddd Troll

Good morning. Wow, some of you must not sleep.

Miss Molly on June 29, 2009 at 8:58 AM
Preachin’ to the choir on that one!

School is awful

blatantblue on June 29, 2009 at 9:06 AM

My poor children get educated on their way to school almost every morning. I just can't help myself, but almost anything they say gets me going on a lecture about the evil of liberalism/socialism. It has become something of a joke. For instance, as we drove by a horse pasture, my little girl said something about her friend who has a horse and blah blah...she wished she had a horse and could ride it to school. I proceeded to tell her and her little brother that we probably should get a horse now, while we can afford it, because if Obama succeeds in his socialist plan for the country, we might need a horse to get to school, because socialism DOES NOT WORK and we’re going to end up paying so much for gas we won't be able to afford it, but of course, we probably wouldn't have the money to pay for school anymore either, so we would just use the horse to plow a field and grow food. Then she said a little brightly, "does that mean I get to go to ____ (local public school attended by her neighborhood friends)?" I said, NO! I'll homeschool you first. The schools are one of the reasons we are in this mess in the first place, blah blah. (and we are in a relatively good school district.)

All because my daughter said she'd like to have horse. My poor kids. They are afraid to bring up anything, but I am going to make sure they know that socialism is unfair, stupid because it DOES NOT WORK, and EVIL if it kills me.

Sometimes I worry that I might be scaring them, but at the same time, they need to understand why some parents have started having no gifts please at the birthday parties, so some of the kids won’t be left out due to the fact that their dads are out of work and they can’t afford a present every other week for every kid they know. For their sake, I try not to act worried, so much as angry, but I’m really pretty much scared to death.

Folks have been sitting on the couch for a while, and now they’re starting to feel like, hey, you know what, I can run.

Hopefully some voter-folks will get off their couch and run FROM the Democrats, otherwise there won't be any place to hide from the American Kleptocracy.

I've not had any cut in hours, but the raises were cut from 3% to 1%...no one at the manager level or above gets anything...glad I'm not a manager. The increase will just cover the increase in my insurance premiums...oh well.

This is what bothers me most — it’s as if these are grand new schemes.

They are not! Not in the least, they are the stale remnants of failed ideologies.

The problem is that new generations have been dumbed down enough in history by the progressives influence in our schools over the years that people actually believe this is something new and better. This has been in the works for decades.

The worst part of all is that these things are packaged under the guise of "newness."

Of "change."

These ideas have all been tried before, and they have all failed.

Very well said Molly. I agree 100%.

Thank you. Guess I'm spittin' mad this morning as my hours have been cut yet again and raises this year will also be cut from 5% to 1%. While I appreciate the blessing of a raise of any kind in an economy where pay cuts and layoffs are common, when it is added to the decreased hours it puts an even greater burden on my kids and me as we try to hang on without losing everything. Mr. Obama will get no kudos from me, only disdain for his policies that will keep us entrenched in this mess for a long time to come.

Wow, a president that wants to do more than cut brush in Crawford Texas, ride and crash his mountain bike, invade Middle Eastern countries that weren’t involved in 9/11, and doesn’t have his vice president running a shadow government that condones torture. A president that actually wants to get things done and probably wouldn’t abandon New Orleans if say a major hurricane destroyed it. We have to impeach that Obama guy, he’s getting things done. I’m outraged. Maybe next presidential election the gop should run someone besides a senile old man and a bimbo that can see Russia from her home. Wow, a smart president, what a crazy concept….see ya at the polls in 2012.

What he wants to do is destroy the fabric of this great nation to suit some warped ideal that we don't know what is good for us.

I don't want my taxes to go up, especially during a recession. I don't want my energy bill to skyrocket based on uncertain, even disputed science. I don't want socialized medicine. I don't want the government to run the banks. I don't want the government to take over private businesses because they THINK someone MIGHT do something bad. I don't want the government to dictate to me how much I can make and how wealthy I can be. I don't want income redistribution. I don't want foreigners to be able to just waltz in here illegally and become citizens without first proving they will respect and embrace the American way. I don't want foreign terrorists having the same rights as I do. I don't want my children and my childrens children suffering with high taxes, high energy bills, government intrusions, socialized medicine, and an economy ready to collapse or most likely already collapsed. Mr Obama seems to think that these are good things otherwise he wouldn't be creating scenarios where these things can and will happen.

You may like that he "gets stuff done" and is "smart" but I don't like what he is doing with that power one bit. He is ruining the future for my children by ignoring common sense and our history as he drags the founding fathers words into the mud.

President Bush may not have been perfect, but he pales in comparison to he arrogance and bigotry that is Obama's alone.
