Quote of the day
posted at 9:30 pm on June 28, 2009 by Allahpundit
“But, look, I just think that what we’ve been doing over the last six months is getting people back into fighting trim. This is a town where there was just a belief that nothing could get done… I’ll use just the workout metaphor, and that is, you know, when you start training again and you’re pushing your body a little bit harder, sometimes it hurts. But if you keep on at it, after a while your body adjusts. And I think that’s what’s happening to politics in Washington. Folks have been sitting on the couch for a while, and now they’re starting to feel like, hey, you know what, I can run. And that’s why we’re getting stuff done.”

It’s more than sometimes with this a*hole. Zero the know-nothing only encourages me to make sure that I’m prepared for the worst.

Politics as usual is over in Washington DC. We need to look out for middle class Americans and this why we need to pass the Stimulus Package.
If we make the intelligent choices now, to invest in our economy, we can prevent the expansion of the worst recession since the Great Depression. And if we do this now, we will be able to keep unemployment levels under under 8%.
However, if we listen to our critics, who say government shouldn’t do anything, and that we’re trying to do too much, unemployment could reach unsustainable levels, up towards 9%, and that is unacceptable. And that’s why we’re getting stuff done.

LOL – Yes and it was much better – If getting things done means ruining America then I would prefer the latter.
CHANGE you can bankrupt America on. Let’s HOPE we will have food, water & electricity after the Obamanation is done destroying what we have sown.
izoneguy on June 28, 2009 at 9:47 PM
Sorry, not good enough. You might as well just surrender to the inevitable it that’s your solution. What you should be doing is a) running for office yourself or b) supporting someone who is running who has zero ties to the current political machine.
If you are not doing this you might as well be supporting the Obamanation because Republican or Democrat they are all corrupt if they are part of the political machine.
They all need to go… Total bloodbath in the house and senate. If you vote for anyone with connections to the current political machine the face may change, but it will still be the same corrupt machine.

Step forward yourself. I am a California resident, I have zero connections politically speaking and even less in the way of money. I have been posting here on HotAir pretty much since the blog opened.
I have been asking everyone here at HotAir to help this regular middle class working man from California to challenge Senator Boxer for her senate seat.
I dont have the money, the connections or even the technical skills to make a website, but I am stepping up and asking others, hell daring others to do so as well.
You tell me where those candidates are… I think I am talking to one, he just doesnt know it yet…

Obama-centric belief system:
1) All roads start with Obama.
2) All roads end with Obama.
3) The Sun revolves around Obama.
4) The moon revolves around Obama.
5) The stars revolve around Obama.
6) If the United States does not keep Obama in office for at least 10 terms, the orbital stability of the Earth will become unbalanced and we will all fall into the sun.

“L’etat, c’est moi!”
“Louis’ numerous wars and excessive domestic spending (mainly the construction of the Chateau de Versailles) effectively bankrupted the State. This bankruptcy set into motion many of the domestic problems with the “tiers etat” that would eventually lead to the French Revolution in 1789. These debts forced Louis XIV to incur large State debts from various financiers and his successors to levy higher taxes on the peasants as the nobility and clergy had exemption from paying these taxes and contributing to public funds. Yet, it must be emphasized that in Louis’ time it was the State, and not the country, which was impoverished. The wealth and prosperity of France, as a whole, could be noted in the writings of the social and political thinker and commentator Montesquieu in his satirical epistolary novel, Lettres Persanes. While the work mocks and ridicules French political, cultural and social life, it also portrays and describes the wealth, elegance and opulence of France between the end of the War of the Spanish Succession and Louis XIV’s death.”
