Quote of the day

posted at 9:30 pm on June 27, 2009 by Allahpundit

“We stand corrected, the truth is every Democrat hopes Governor Palin is in the public eye for a long, long time, especially on the 2012 presidential ballot,” Kerry spokeswoman Jodi Seth says. “Lately it’s been Vice President Cheney that everyone hopes would lose the cameras and go for a long leisurely hike on the Appalachian Trail. And good grief, if anyone thinks John Kerry is afraid of strong, smart women, they sure haven’t met his brilliant wife and two independent daughters. It sounds like getting crushed these last two election cycles cost some of these Republicans their sense of humor.”

Why are your paraphrasing Tina Fey? What does she have to do with this?

I believe that there are 200 people in the Obama war room now brainstorming and trying to come up with a way to sabotage Sarah Palin’s potential Presidential bid in 2012. So far they have not succeeded, but they have tried to destroy Sarah; they really have. And she still stands-proud and more willing than ever to engage the enemy.

I believe the two week window between the beginning of June and the midway point of this month really boosted Sarah’s credentials being climaxed by the Lauer interview which I believe was the best one that Sarah has ever conducted in the lower 48. She overflowed with serious dignity and displayed none of the folksiness she usually exhibits.

Sarah’s Facebook and Twitter have grown exponentially in the last two weeks. The tide is turning.

And this has the Obama war room and the MSM scared sh*tless.

The bimbo has emerged as a feminist of the nth degree.

I dunno and don’t care about Facebook and the like. I HOPE she doesn’t get sucked in and ruined. All I wish for this courageous woman is a wonderful fulfilling and happy life.

If she hears the call to Lead I think she’ll go for it. And God Bless her.

The democrat retorts are getting weaker and weaker each and every day. A year from now, the desperation of their failed leadership will be so obvious, one of them is just going to stick out their tongue at the camera.
Sherry

Ya, well doubling the unemployment rate in the fist 6 months of TOTAL control will tend to take the bit outa their retorts. Losing tack of 10’s of billions doesn’t help either.

DSchoen on June 28, 2009 at 2:29 AM

seesalrun on June 28, 2009 at 2:14 AM

I am not a member of either Internet tool. I just referred to them as an indication that Sarah may have turned the corner with the perception of her in the lower 48.

I am not naive enough to think that the disappointment and despair of Obama and Obama’s socialist agenda by many Americans have not had an impact on sending Sarah’s favorables up.

I really think that Sarah is in the right place at the right time now in American history.

I don’t think Sarah will get ‘sucked in and ruined’. She is a genuine Reagan conservative and the people that join her team will have to play by her rules or not be on her team at all.

At this point I think Sarah will run. Her polls results among Republicans are just too solid (eg 80% of conservative Republicans via the PEW poll give her thumbs up).

Your sarcasm aside, It is not hatred. The irony is that he has many gifts. IMO some of those gifts were surrendered to the the left with unintended consequences. Being a business man first and foremost should have prevailed rather than succumbed to his on again off again conservative principles. Conservative principles should not be treated like an on and off light switch but rather as a beacon of light. Mitt has a record now. It should remind us of when you abandon your core principles like GHWB did in stating “NO NEW TAXES” and then pull a 180 to that pledge. You know how well that has been remebered. Do not get me wrong, I still like GHWB but he would never get my vote again. Alas, this is how I perceive Mitt (flip flopper) the WINDSOCK.
.
For Mitt to really be effective in these up and coming election cycles, he should be a “James Madison” type to an inevitability of who would win. He should be supporting and in a subservient capacity to a “Thomas Jefferson” type. Case in point, Madison was a brilliant man but he saw in and yielded to the even greater man Jefferson. The pathway that would lead them both to equal ends of merit and accomplishment. (The presidency of the U.S.). Mitt needs to find his Jefferson where upon a new record can wash away or at least diminish Mitt’s previous happenstances. The aforementioned is only my humble opinion. I welcome any refutation in writing to my opinions.
.
Pass this along to Mitt for me will you. I don’t have his e-mail address and I don’t want to have it either.

Dang, even FoxNews is at it:

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/06/25/pub-gop-presidential-prospects/?test=latestnews?test=latestnews

Talking about Palin “family drama”. Defending one’s child is now “drama”? I thought it was a parental responsibility! Or are we suppossed to expect school teachers and principals to do such things?

Wake up Fox! Palin was in New York, she went to a ballgame, and the daughter that went to the ballgame with her was joked about getting knocked up in centerfield. Yea, Dave meant the “older daughter”. Like that makes a difference?

Anyone making jokes about Obama’s kids? Obama’s kids can’t even have dolls named after them that are in good taste and suppossed to be complimentary. THAT’S OUT OF LINE.

Knocking up a Republican politicians daughter in the centerfield of Yankee Stadium is not….?

Hog Wild:

The MSM will never accept the fact that Sarah has done nothing to bring the tabloidization of her family upon herself. Letterman and Kerry are the two latest episodes of men going out of their way to have a joke at Sarah’s expense without any prompting on her part.

This all started with the ridiculous Trig Truther allegation hatched by the Far Left which as we know was totally ridiculous. I am not an expert on childbirth but even I know that the chances of a woman 44 having a Down Syndrome child is much higher at that age-unfortunately it goes with the territory.

And then we have Troopergate where the people who tried to call attention to some improper behavior by an ex-brother-in-law are regarded as the ‘bad guys’ while the trooper is an aggrieved party.

The ethics complaints as we know were entirely bogus. 15 out of 15 thrown out of court.

hicsuget on June 28, 2009 at 5:56 AM

What’s with the “We stand corrected”?

Does Kerry consider himself the voice of the Democratic Party, or does he just thinks so when he has looked the fool, again, and now hopes to escape solitary notice by attempting to hide in a pack of them?

Or, is it because “Junior” is the key adjective for this Senator of Massachusetts and by amalgamating his position as one of he and his staff, his gravitas will be seen as greater than Perez Hilton’s while he has his lackey plead for sympathy from the public press?

Or, has King Lurch, Royal fantasies? Or, does Jodi Seth have a Kerry on her pocket?

And isn’t it typical of Mr. Mindless Talking Point Babble to miss the comic humor displayed with Palin’s double entendre while his second-hand re-retort displayed a very odd sense of dull and pedestrian, even for him.

Standard tactic for the Dems. They accuse the other side of everything they themselves are guilty of to deflect attention. It only works because their fellating accomplices in the state-run media abet them. IF they ever lose their luster with the media, watch out. You might be shocked to see some truth being told. bluelightbrigade on June 28, 2009 at 12:15 PM

Reading about the 1976-1980 lead up to the 1980 fall Presidential campaign I was struck by the fact that the Carter election team considered Ronald Reagan the least likely Republican to give them trouble in 1980 and thus welcomed his candidacy and because of their political instincts at the time did not really attack with him much vigor between 1976 and 1979.

Obama, Axelrod and their merry men and women in the war room, the MSM, the Far Left and the entertainment industry are determined not to make the same mistake twice. Thus I predict we will see an escalation of the daily attacks on Sarah Palin in their intensity as we move closer to the 2010 midterms. They are determined to destroy her ASAP. In their mind they cannot allow another Reagan to emerge and destroy 40 years of planning to orchestrate a radical socialist takeover that first gained control of the Democratic Party and its leadership and then the federal government and the accompanying dismantling of the Constitution.

technopeasant on June 28, 2009 at 1:16 PM

I’m seeing a common thread in these attacks on Palin that are making get the tinfoil hat out.

1. Most of them are aimed at her children, especially her minor children..

2. They are phrased in the form of a ‘joke’ that allows some plausable deniability if there is backlash.

I can just picture axlerod or dead fish emanuell picking up the phone to someone and saying “OK.. Your turn.. here’s what you are going to say. … Yeah, we’ll let you know if you have to backtrack.. you’ll just apologize half assedly and say it was a joke”. Sorry, but there too much of a pattern is beginning to emerge here.

Anyone care to add to the list

- The BS that Sarah was trig’s grandmother

- Obama and the ‘special olympics’. Now, how does the smartest illegal alien in the world make a mistake like that

- Letterman doing it about 3 times when he damn well knew it was the 14 year old daughter with Palin

- The Photoshop of Trig by Jabba the hutt in alaska.

Those were against here kids. Here are the ones against her

- The ‘hope she went missing’..

- The “Lipstick on a pig” comment by jugears.

- Her church is an apparent victim of an arson attack

Anyway, anyone have more to add. I’m fairly good at picking up patterns and this seems to be the case. .. Go after her kids and her motherhood.

bullseye on June 28, 2009 at 1:28 PM

You are right about the Palin smears. The pattern is and has been established. Looks to me that the Palin family now knows how to fight it and come off looking stellar. We should do the same. The Palins answer every smear with the velvet hammer and we keep up the buzz. It seems like a great plan to me.
She isn’t taking any crap and neither should we. She is showing the way. She gets my support and she is fast pulling in others to her side. Right this second she is the only Republican that is standing up to the tyrants. It looks as if she is the only one that will. She is doing it consistently. The others are not. Go, Sarah. We have your back!

I wonder how Sarah Palin would campaign if she were not micromanaged by spineless McCain campaign staffers. Let her continue to spar with Democrat has-beens like Kerry. It may sharpen her aim for a 2012 campaign. A lot can happen between now and then, and besides: who else is out there for conservative Republicans? Not what I’d call a wide field of candidates.

Obama will collapse before the 2010 elections when Americans realize that he’s made our economic situation far worse while the fawning elites cheered. Let Palin loose. See what she does. What have we got to lose?

Tom McLaughlin on June 28, 2009 at 6:02 PM

I believe that Ogabe is behind the attacks on Governor Palin because he is terrified that she may run against him in 2012. His thugs and henchmen are orchestrating the “ethics investigations” in Alaska and are supporting the Alaska Democrat Party in their quest to stifle the Governor and keep her quiet by taking up her time defending against specious complaints. And no, I don’t have any hard evidence of that. I only need know how Chicago thug politics works and it works like that.
I also believe that a number of myopic, koolaid-drinking Dems think she will be an easy candidate to defeat in 2012, especially given the willingness of the fellating state-run media to carry their water. I tell you they are wrong. It will be up to conservatives to convince Americans to put down their white flags and pick up their longrifles, powder and flint. Personally, I’m looking forward to a long and bloody fight. Where do I sign up?

All roads lead to Rome just like all episodes of smears, mockery, vilification, disinformation or propaganda levelled against Sarah Palin directly or directly lead back to the Obama war room, whether it is spewed by the Far Left blogosphere (nutroots), the MSM, political pundits, the MSM, the entertainment industry or local anklebiters in Alaska.

Before the 1980 camapign started Carter and his team were certain that Reagan would pose the least problem for Carter to get re-elected.

Axelrod and the gang are determined not to make the same mistake as Carter’s team made. They are out to destroy Sarah Palin ASAP, and that means pronto.

Unfortunately for Obama’s war room, they are running out of options; what are they going to do next-claim that Sarah is really an alien and came to the earth from the same planet Krypton that Superman came from as well?

technopeasant on June 28, 2009 at 6:54 PM

They sure do. She may be intelligent and learned enough to occupy a national executive office, but she’s sure managed to fool everyone on the East Coast on the matter.

hicsuget on June 28, 2009 at 5:54 AM

Look at the people the “pukes” on the East Coast elect: Snowe, Kennedy, Specter, Biden, Clinton, Mikowski. That says a lot.

Palin superfans are irrational. They can’t even handle a simple joke about Palin without getting all weird. They don’t have to like the joke, but they should be able to handle it without going to war.

They’re like a cult, and that makes them just like the Obama cult. They really should open up accounts at HuffPo and Kos, and post there.

That’s where the always-offended pc types hang out.

The main fly in the ointment with your premise is found in Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals”. The attacks on Sarah Palin are straight out of Alinsky’s Playbook.

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.

and

RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.

So, the attacks on Palin, as I mentioned before are beginning to fall into a pattern. What is particularly disgusting is that many of them are aimed at her children.

Just like the movie Patton where George C Scott playing Patton Defeats Rommel’s Africa Corps after reading rommel’s Tank Warfare book “Rommel … You magnificent bastard. I read your book!”

Obmama and his circle of chicago goons are radicals. If you throw Occam’s razor at the situation, you end up with the real possibility that someone in the white house is actively encouraging the attacks ala Alinsky

One thing that Alinsky doesn’t account for is that bullying only works when you allow yourself to be bullied. Just like a school bully who continues to push kids around. However the day he gets a roundhouse kick to the head, he suddenly realizes that bullying can cause pain both ways.

Palin is responding with the classic “cause pain for your attacker”. I’m happy to join in on that with things like emailing and calling lettermans’ bosses and sponsors.

So, while we are talking alinsky.. did anyone notice how momentum affects jugear’s ears when he is swivelling his head from teleprompter to telepromter???

How is it that these loser liberals just won’t ever go away?
Shame must be absent from their genetic makeup.

I just had a conversation not more than a hour ago with some friends who think Sarah is scary because she has the look in the eyes of a crazy… insane person…and that the “0″ is the best thing that’s happened to this country…
Yes I do and will always protect the innocent and weak…
It was an unbelievable conversation.
The only factor that would have topped it off is if any of them stated that McCain was ineligible because he was born in the Canal Zone…

LOL. Kerry’s the one who took a poke at a girl, but couldn’t take it when she jabbed back. What a wimp.

Nah, we could probably handle a joke better without the background of the 10-month Super Slime operation. That’s what’s irrational. It’s about time she (and we) started dishing it back to them.

Now what if you were a Romney or Huckabee supporter and some jokester suggested that your guy ‘get lost’ or expressed a wish that he would like him to disappear, would you not take offense as well? The joke basically suggested that the political world would be better off if Sarah Palin was off the radar and not in the picture, if she got lost, so what!

That was Kerry’s attitude and for the haughty John Kerry par for the course. Sarah’s supporters had every right to be indignant.

Amazing. . .

I think HotAir.com, as others, are ‘finally’ closing ranks around the only real hope we have for unseating ObaoMao & winning back congress.

Nary 1 post of mindless ‘attack-drivel’ about Palin in the entire thread.

Debating a Palin policy is always fair-game, but it always seems to take the back seat in any attack.

Go figure?!?

So, if someone insults you, or makes a joke about you…you cannot defend yourself?
Meaning the “first strike” is the only blow thrown in a fight?

You are very, very naive…

These guys aren’t “friends” they are combatants, Kerry tried to take her down a notch, and he got stepped on. And she got defended, enough is enough…they (the liberals) should learn to lead, and not turn around and attack. They are “in charge”, but they seem obsessed about staying in charge, rather then leading.

right2bright on June 29, 2009 at 8:57 AM

Mr. Kerry, Don’t confuse (marrying into being) “RICH” with “BRILLIANT”

PappaMac on June 29, 2009 at 10:16 AM

If I stood toe to toe with this elitist jackass, I would go with the “you got beat by Bush” line. It would irk him to the core.

budorob on June 29, 2009 at 10:20 AM

And good grief, if anyone thinks John Kerry is afraid of strong, smart women, they sure haven’t met his brilliant wife and two independent daughters.

Kerry’s first wife was smarter, and left him.

Kerry NEEDS a strong, smart woman to make his money, because he’s too weak and stupid to make it himself.

Kerry’s not afraid of strong LIBERAL women, only strong CONSERVATIVE women. Sarah just LOVES it when you open mouth and insert foot!
