On what basis do you assert your claim about the troops laughing at Obama? I work with them everyday and although this may shock you they are professionals – which means they separate their personal opinion from their commitment to service of their country — know it is a tough concept to understand but it is the reality and one of the strengths of the men and women in uniform.

They certainly are professionals, and they aren’t plotting a coup out of hatred for Obama. But I served as well, and I know the mindset. I remember how Clinton was viewed in the military. They tend to know who their real friends are.

I like her. I am a woman and admire her. She needs now to keep it real and not get sucked in because the game is now for blood.

Without Sanford now out, I think it is even becoming more crystal-clear that that if the remaining 20% want a conservative to represent them they better get on board as well. It’s either Palin or you’ll get the more moderate Romney or Huckabee who is a social conservative but not widely regarded as a fiscal conservative.

This is going to be fun! Palin 2012.

Apparently now Kerry has apologized or at least tried to explain what he was trying to say. AP, perhaps you should update the contents of this thread soon.

I haven’t troubled myself to look for an “explanation” or an “apology” from Kerry – perhaps, if you have a link, you could provide it?

More to the point – he makes a mean and stupid comment; no doubt, he will try to explain it away (he’s done this in the past, notably after the “botched joke” moment.)

Or, he’ll offer a standard non-apology – “I’m sorry if my comment was misunderstood, etc…”

Not worth considering, unless he comes out forthrightly and says;

“I’m sorry, I said something stupid. It was wrong.”

That would be a meaninful apology.

Care to wait for it? It will never come.

And then in 2004, he ran as a “hero” from a war that he and his party lost, the same war that they continued to trash for decades.

And the idiots in his party bought it hook, line and sinker.

Sarah Palin is the quintisensial independent woman. She is a role model for young women since she has found success and a venue for her energies and intellect. She actually serves the people, but has also a background of hard labor and can relate to others that work to make a living for themselves and their families. She has a loving husband that is not intimidated by her success and supports her and helps with his family and household while working hard for a living himself.

Yet, instead of her being held up as a shining example of what our culture offers to the best and brightest,and how someone can live the dream be it a man or women, she is maligned and a subject of false witness by the media and other liberals. It is a sure sign that the progressive movement is not looking for free thinkers, and people outside of the victim profile to be controlled heroes.

May God continue to bless Sarah Palin and her family.
