Palin responds to Kerry: “Why the long face?”

posted at 9:25 pm on June 26, 2009 by Allahpundit

Conservatives 4 Palin has the full 10-minute speech to the troops but here’s the punchline, one which I couldn’t deny our loyal, long-suffering Palinistas. It’s an old (and kind of lame) joke but a crowd-pleaser nonetheless because (a) Kerry’s a jackass and (b) Sarahcuda’s been a punching bag for the left too long without fighting back. Presumably this is her way of serving notice that those days are over. Anyone want to be a joke-writer for Palin 2012? Click the image to watch.

“Ummagumma”.

You’re welcome!

Kerry ridicules Palin, drawing a laugh from liberal activists. Palin ridicules Kerry, drawing laughs from active-duty US troops.

While I don’t necessarilly think that Palin should have lowered herself to Kerry’s level, this episode does help point out a difference between conservatives and liberals.

ChrisB on June 27, 2009 at 12:18 PM

She is so awesome. McCain thought she would add appeal to *his* candidacy and it was actually the opposite that happened.

Palin/Somebody 2012!

I bet I’m not the only one who wishes she were POTUS instead of the apologizing Zero we have now. Especially those Ya Ya’s that voted for Zero—-GO SARAH!

Do you think the troops would have laughed if Kerry had told them his joke about Sarah?

Herb on June 27, 2009 at 12:43 PM

One of the turning points for me to support Sarah unequivocably was when John Ziegler told an interviewer that Sarah Palin told him after the Media Malpractice interview that she was fully aware of the damage done to the Bush Presidency when Bush ‘did not fight back against the MSM’ and that she would not make the same mistake, that she would indeed fight to get her message out and to get the truth out to the American people, including responding to cheap shots or MSM criticisms.

Folks, if you are going to back a political leader don’t you want to back someone with GUMPTION who even if you lose you know she gave it everything she had or would you rather back politicians like McCain who are a product of white guilt or political correctness who only care about how the media perceives them rather than GOING ON THE OFFENSE and fighting tooth and nail in the manner of trench warfare to secure every vote possible?

technopeasant on June 27, 2009 at 12:59 PM

Are you talking about the leftists and the media’s adulation of Obama?

bayview on June 27, 2009 at 10:07 AM

Why funny you should make a comparison without seeing the delicious irony of the same behavior of the Paliniacs… guess I know which cult you fall into?

If you continually profess disdain for a politician, on the Internet…then you might be even more of a cultist.ddrintn on June 27, 2009 at 9:59 AM

No I profess disdain for the Paliniacs who act just like the Obamaniacs, whom I also disdain. You sir are a Paliniac. Own up to it, embrace it, put the bumpersticker on your car, and above all else continue to be the keeper of the threads in the event any implied criticism of the Queen of the North is written… geez

Anyone who doesn’t trash Sarah Palin is a Paliniac. So yeah, I guess I am one. All you ever seem to do on this site, however, is set yourself up as the judge of Palinolatry. Exclusively. Sounds kind of obsessive to me.

I have only objected to unreasonable criticims.

ddrintn on June 27, 2009 at 1:38 PM

Sarah Palin is the quintisensial independent woman. She is a role model for young women since she has found success and a venue for her energies and intellect. She actually serves the people, but has also a background of hard labor and can relate to others that work to make a living for themselves and their families. She has a loving husband that is not intimidated by her success and supports her and helps with his family and household while working hard for a living himself.

Yet, instead of her being held up as a shining example of what our culture offers to the best and brightest, and how someone can live the dream be it a man or women, she is maligned and a subject of false witness by the media and other liberals. It is a sure sign that the progressive movement is not looking for free thinkers, and people outside of the victim profile to be controlled heroes.

May God continue to bless Sarah Palin and her family.

Hening on June 27, 2009 at 1:41 PM

^ It sounds to me though that you are more upset because someone else — more to your liking — isn’t the object of such widespread adoration. Mitt Romney, maybe? Seems like it.

ddrintn on June 27, 2009 at 1:42 PM

The further we get from the Reagan presidency, the more we need the graceful strength of people like Sarah Palin.
I know I can’t always be completely objective because I admire the woman so, but I strongly believe I’m not the only one whose committment to getting her into the white house will be matched by my efforts. Our army will be considerable and Ogabe’s thugs will pee themselves when they see us coming.
Our church is always exhorting us to dedicate our time, talent and treasure to the church (mostly treasure, if they were being honest). That is what I will dedicate to Sarah Palin if she decides to run.
If we get stuck with another McCain…screw it, I’m staying home.

That was my point and I guess you were too dense to realize that or chose to distort what I said. Try not to be impressed by your own ” brilliance”, yours fall quite far short of that. You are just a sneering not-too-wise ass.

Kerry meeting with the troops? Get real!

Lets see, Kerry lies his A-off to Congress 1971, slandering, defaming our troops while safely at home.

Our troops were still in Vietnam.

Kerry ridicules Palin, drawing a laugh from liberal activists.

Palin ridicules Kerry, drawing laughs from active-duty US troops.

Is there a pattern here?

And then in 2004, he ran as a “hero” from a war that he and his party lost, the same war that they continued to trash for decades.

And the idiots in his party bought it hook, line and sinker.

Del Dolemonte on June 27, 2009 at 6:02 PM

Kerry is such a windbag!
Since JoePlugs is now in the executive branch, Kerry is Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the same committee he used in 1971 to slander every single person who served in Vietnam, including himself.

Only in America.

The Left and all of the state run media are scared to death of this one women.Because she talks the talk and most important she walks the walk. She does not care what the NY times Washington post Nbc Cnn Abc and the Washington elite think or say about her.Look out for this women when she is not restrained like she was by McCain in 08.Gov Palin give them Hell or just tell the truth about them and they will think it,s Hell.

thmcbb on June 27, 2009 at 7:09 PM

The great thing about Sarah Palin is that her advisors will have to listen to her rather than she becoming a prisoner of the poll numbers and the advice of political hesitation or reticence given by so-called experts.

I haven’t troubled myself to look for an “explanation” or an “apology” from Kerry – perhaps, if you have a link, you could provide it?

More to the point – he makes a mean and stupid comment; no doubt, he will try to explain it away (he’s done this in the past, notably after the “botched joke” moment.)

Or, he’ll offer a standard non-apology – “I’m sorry if my comment was misunderstood, etc…”

Not worth considering, unless he comes out forthrightly and says;

“I’m sorry, I said something stupid. It was wrong.”

That would be a meaninful apology.

Care to wait for it? It will never come.

massrighty on June 27, 2009 at 9:21 PM

Kerry has a long face because he’s completely irrevevant, he knows it and it drives him crazy. Not that he’s got far to go to get to crazy, he is a democrat/liberal after all.

This is going to be fun! Palin 2012.

james23 on June 27, 2009 at 11:02 PM

The recent PEW poll claims that Sarah Palin is favored by 80% of all those who call themselves conservative Republicans. I wondered if other conservatives would figure it out that if they wanted to ensure that a Reagan conservative had a chance in the GOP primaries in 2012 they would have coalesce around Sarah.

Without Sanford now out, I think it is even becoming more crystal-clear that that if the remaining 20% want a conservative to represent them they better get on board as well. It’s either Palin or you’ll get the more moderate Romney or Huckabee who is a social conservative but not widely regarded as a fiscal conservative.

technopeasant on June 27, 2009 at 11:50 PM

Still on the fence with Palin, but if that’s where it goes 2012 she has my vote and support.

I like her. I am a woman and admire her. She needs now to keep it real and not get sucked in because the game is now for blood.

Blood of America and we got folks that are playing hard ball.
God Bless her and Keep her safe. Sarah, don’t ever turn your back on who you are, and for God’s Sake, don’t apologize for it.

seesalrun on June 28, 2009 at 2:05 AM

Sarah is funnier and more humorous than 90% of the comedians and comediennes on TV.

You are a laugh track all by yourself with your snide remarks. Unhappiness in or about your life is a compelling tell all story I bet. Those of which are the particular rehensibility of quips as marked again and again by your contiued strong resentment or cynicism of and by your poorly researched narratives.

Two days after this thread is posted you are coming back to guard the honor of Sarah and defend her against any criticisms! Cultist thy name is ddrintn.

On what basis do you assert your claim about the troops laughing at Obama? I work with them everyday and although this may shock you they are professionals – which means they separate their personal opinion from their commitment to service of their country — know it is a tough concept to understand but it is the reality and one of the strengths of the men and women in uniform.
