Biden: New Jersey has a great governor in … Tim Kaine?
posted at 11:36 am on June 26, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
We have great fun with our Obamateurisms, but Joe Biden may need his own category soon. We knew that Biden was a Past Gaffemaster, but who knew he’d fail to correctly name the Democratic governor of New Jersey — in prepared remarks? Andrew Malcolm has the story:
For your Joe Biden Gaffe files: Washington. Mandarin Oriental Hotel. LGBT fundraiser. Hauled in about $1 mill. 33% better than last year with Michelle Obama. …
Biden also praised Tim Kaine as the “great governor of New Jersey.”
One problem: Tim Kaine’s not governor of New Jersey.
Jon Corzine (right) is governor of New Jersey (Remember, he didn’t wear his seatbelt in the state patrol car for the big high-speed crash).
Tim Kaine is governor of another state, called Virginia.
He’s also chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
Andrew reports that Biden used his TelePrompter to deliver that remark, and that it wasn’t just off the cuff. That meant that Biden, who reportedly got chosen as a running mate because of his status as an eminence grise among Democrats, apparently can’t tell Kaine from Corzine. Both of them may be out of a job soon, but still, the similarities more or less end there.
The fundraiser with LGBT leaders drew the ire of protesters, who called attendees “gay Uncle Toms” for supporting Biden and Barack Obama after the latter defended the Defense of Marriage Act in court. Biden pledged to repeal DOMA during the meeting, but apparently declined to explain how that fit with his boss’ repeated insistence that he opposes gay marriage and the administration’s defense of the law in court. That’s less of a gaffe, though, than just business as usual with administration promises.

Seriously when you look at the loons in the Democrat party, it really is frightening where this country is going. The list of their members that are nuts, incompetent or corrupt is astounding. What’s worse is that Republicans can’t beat them. It’s a sad world.

I have tried really hard to have some sympathy for this dolt because:
1) He has had a couple of brain aneurysms
2) His first wife and and the couple’s 18 month old daughter were killed in a car accident in 1972.
But then, during the 2008 campaign, Biden came out and claimed that the other driver “drank his lunch” (altough the police report found that the accident was actually her fault, and that alcohol was NOT a factor).
So, he gets no quarter from me. He’s a liar, plagiarizer, and generally a stupid jackass.
Fire away, folks.

I don’t. If it were ever necessary that Biden take the top spot, the media would turn on him in a week. Unlike Obama, his personal polling would equal the polling of the policies. Obama supporters and the press have too much invested in Obama. They have nothing invested in Biden.

If the Democrats really want to raise some money, Corzine and Rendell should have a limo race from Harrisburg to Trenton. And don’t close the roads – it’s more fun when they have to swerve around all the little people who are in the way.
My money is on Spendell because his driver can do over 100 without wrecking. Corzine’s guy put him into a wall at 91.

Let’s be precise with the language here. Tim Kaine will not be Governor of Virginia much longer. He and the voters don’t have a choice because of Virginia’s one term and out system.
He will be out of the job which he’s only doing part time so that he can flit around the country on DNC fundraisers. He is steadfastly refusing to disclose the extent of the travel he is doing on behalf of partisan causes and he will not tell us how much it is costing the state in travel and security to be the mouthpiece for the filthy liar’s party. But God bless Joe Biden for making me smug in my vote against this trainwreck of an administration.
