Obamateurism of the Day

posted at 8:05 am on June 25, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

Bring back TOTUS! President Obama proved that he can commit an Obamateurism regardless of whether he uses the TelePrompter or not during his latest press conference. In pushing for adoption of his “clean energy” policies, Obama called carbon a “contaminant” in his opening statement:

These incentives will finally make clean energy the profitable kind of energy. And that will lead to the development of new technologies that lead to new industries that could create millions of new jobs in America — jobs that can’t be shipped overseas.

At a time of great fiscal challenges, this legislation is paid for by the polluters who currently emit the dangerous carbon emissions that contaminate the water we drink and pollute the air that we breathe. It also provides assistance to businesses and communities as they make the gradual transition to clean energy technologies.

The argument — such as it is — is that carbon emissions warm the Earth, not “contaminate the water we drink and pollute the air we breathe”. People have been breathing carbon since at least a little while before Obama was born … like since the dawn of man. It’s lethal, of course — it’ll kill you in 150 years, if you don’t stop breathing before then.

Fortunately, Obama has a plan to keep you from breathing long before that, but we’ll talk about ObamaCare later. (thanks to Scott and Lorellico for the tip)

Got an Obamateurism of the Day? If you see a foul-up by Barack Obama, e-mail it to me at [email protected] with the quote and the link to the Obamateurism. I’ll post the best Obamateurisms on a daily basis, depending on how many I receive. Include a link to your blog, and I’ll give some link love as well. And unlike Slate, I promise to end the feature when Barack Obama leaves office.

Oh, so it’s the CO2 that makes pop bad for you? Hmm… I would have never guessed. So will Pepsi and Coke need to shut down since they are filling us all with CO2?

So much for “saving” jobs.

Yeah, it was a basically rhetorical musing. Back in the day when words meant things and awards meant achievement. Just longing for the good old days.

Chemistry is obviously not Teh One’s strong suit.

Ed, is there a way I can get all these Obamateurisms of the Day in one spot? I’d love to have some ready made ammo in a debate about who is smarter, Bush or this putz. Thanks!

The One, realizing that he had could no longer fool them with the canard of global warming, said to his legions, “Carbon is a water contaminant and pollutant to be feared.”

And so they shook with fear and hastened home to dismantle the charcoal filters that purified their very tap water, and as they flung those carbon-based filters into their recycle containers, they could be heard chanting, “Yes we can, yes we can, yes we can…”

This would not be possible without the ignorance that has followed the Left’s destruction of our schools.

Next watch for the banning of Dihydrogen Monoxide.
doriangrey on June 25

Should we ban Dihydrogen Monoxide?

Obama will not take a stand on DHMO, his silence on the subject is a disgrace!

Dihydrogen Monoxide has been linked to EVERY Airplane involved in 911! EVERY ONE OF THEM!

Did you know the chemical DHMO was found in the autopsy of Marilyn Monroe, JFK, RFK And Anna Nicole!

What are the odds of that!

Rumor control has it DHMO will be found in MJ as well.

Sy Hersh has liked DHMO to the most upper levels of the CIA, including Cheney’s Executive Assassination Ring“!

Still Obama acts like he don’t know!

It’s obvious that Obama and all of his advisors skipped science classes. So did most of the Congress and the electorate. OOOOOOppps,

Science along with math, history and US Government.

You REALLY don’t want to know how much of that horrid Carbon is present in your body. It’s thoroughly frightening to contemplate.

Anybody want to point out CO2 (in the form of bicarbonate) is what us humans use as a buffer in the blood? (IE control the PH of our blood which is kind of important.)
