Michael Jackson suffers massive heart attack, in critical condition; TMZ: Jackson dead
posted at 5:25 pm on June 25, 2009 by Allahpundit
He wasn’t breathing when the paramedics got there and he’s in “really bad shape” in the hospital according to a family member. Apart from feeling instinctive human sympathy for his suffering, I’m not sure how to react. He’s super famous — yet mostly famous at this point for being a walking freak show. He’s had a tough life psychologically — but might very well be a child molester. In a sense this is huge news, yet in another sense I’m not sure why anyone would much care these days. I’ve completely lost my news bearings!
Stand by for (hopefully happy) updates.
Update: A sentiment we can all hopefully agree upon: “Thriller” was a simply dynamite album.
Update: RIP.
Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon and paramedics were unable to revive him. We’re told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.
Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince “Blanket” Michael Jackson II.
Let the overdose speculation begin.
Update: Writes Jim Treacher of Jacko’s and Farrah Fawcett’s demise, “How many more icons of my youth can we lose in one day? Stay strong, Hasselhoff. Stay strong.”
Update: As of 6:10 ET, TMZ’s still the one and only news outlet I know that’s reporting Jackson died. Then again, they were also the first to report that he’d had a heart attack so their sources presumably are solid. Even so, the LA Times claims Jackson’s in a coma. If TMZ jumped the gun, it’ll be a journalistic blunder for the ages.
Update: OK magazine is also reporting he died. Interesting how the celebrity gossip sites are way ahead of the legit news organizations.
Update: Sad confirmation from the LA Times that he is indeed dead. What a scoop by TMZ.
Update: Still the best video ever, but then a Romero fan would say that. Click the image to watch.
Update: Needless to say, this is going to be one interesting autopsy.
Update: I wonder which multimillionaire talking-head cable news anchor will be the first to complain that they have to cover this story, as if it’s beneath them.

I’m not prepared to go there, mainly because I don’t care…
I will however say that Barry and the Dems are jumping for joy over this news, because this ensures complete distraction from “cap-and-tax”.
If this were the Bush administration, there would be speculation that the POTUS was somehow behind Jackson’s death.

Just because you can’t focus on more then one idea at a time, doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t comment on this story, and still understand what else is happening.
This story is a breaking news story, so HA is breaking it…look at the other posts and you will see many other subjects covered.
Some serious, some not so much…

Fox News has someone on there saying only 15% of people who get cardiac arrest live. Apparently most people don’t know CPR properly and the body can’t be without a heart beat longer than 6 minutes. And Los Angeles has a longer than the national response time for an ambulance, which is 10 minutes.
I hope he has provisions for the care of his children. Their natural mother is another whackjob. And no one really knows where that last one came from.
If he has passed away, watch his family fight over what is left of his money like alligators being fed chickens.
karenhasfreedom on June 25, 2009 at 5:49 PM
Ed McMahon was the first. His career began in the 60s, IIRC.

Wow…I was no fan, never owned one record of his…but the neighborhood kids adored him, absolutely was an icon for many kids growing up, and obviously changed the world of music.
Along with other oddities…now his children will have to endure the dreadful news coverage and all the nastiness that goes along with it.

Michael was arranger, choreographer, vocalist, writer par excellence… and Thriller was an excellent album. That’s not my opinion, that’s a fact!
He may not be cut from social norm cloth, to be sure, but I am a bit shocked at some of the comments here. Michael, you have my prayers, and thank you for your music that will ever bring smiles and get our toes a tappin…

I can focus, I’m just frustrated at the MSM coverage we’re about to see. It’s bad enough normally, but when they have something like this to chomp on, we’re going to hear absolutely nothing about cap-and-tax and this is the absolutely most important thing happening right now.
Yes, I see Ed posting some on it earlier, but given the urgency and importance of the matter, if I were Allah or Ed I’d be shouting about this all day long.
They don’t have to take my advice, but I’m certainly not going to stop my critique just because you don’t dig it.

I don’t think this will distract from the “Tax and trade” bill. If the votes are there they are already there. If not it will be defeated. Just continue to call your Representatives and voice your no way, to them. I know many are being bullied right now by Obama and Pelosi. It may be out of our hands, but we must try. May God bless Michael Jacksons family and may God have mercy on his soul.

When was Michael ever found guilty of child molestation?
Just because you’ve never been convicted doesn’t mean your not guilty. Look at all the rich people, like OJ, and Baretta, his real name escapes me, who got off. But everybody knows they did it. No grown man behaves in such bizzare ways and craves the attention of children, sleeping with them playing with them, if there isn’t something weird going on. Grown sexually healthy men just DON’T DO THAT.

He got the crap beat out of him by a fickle press that specializes in character assassination.
I find it incredible that most people take it on faith that he was a criminal.
And what is that faith based on? Newspapers.
Since when do newspapers get anything right?
Since when do reporters care about truth?
Do you trust ABC when they advocate for socialism?
So why would you trust them that Jackson was a pedophile?
The jury didn’t think so.
They saw a family of extortionists using a famous man’s sympathy against him.
Bet you all believe in global warming too. Because the dude who invented the internet told you so.
