How in the hell does Obama think he can deal with Ahmedinejad now? Even brain dead liberals and media will not allow it. He should at lease stand up for what is right. Oh wait sorry I forgot who I was talking about. Never mind....

The age of Iranian dominance through smothering religion and military force is about to end, defeated by brave, freedom seeking Iranian citizens and the power of the internet.

If the people succeed, but I’m pesimistic. But even if they do succeed I don’t think the smothering religion is going away. The very nature of Islam is dominance.

shick on June 25, 2009 at 11:19 AM

This reminds me of the Spanish civil war... that ended with Franco and 50 years of totalitarianism. I don't know why but hearing about the professor's disappearance just reminded me of Stalin and Franco the most. If you kill the leaders of the opposition--which has been done before... people get too afraid to keep going.

I'm not sure this ends well at all.

One big difference is that WE know about it in real time. And the "Arab Street" knows about it too.

No one can legitimately claim that foreigners did this. They can say it is Western ideas and influence, no arguments, but that is a closed society, those reformers are native.

“I hope you (Obama) will avoid interfering in Iran’s affairs and express regret in a way that the Iranian people are informed of it,” Mr Ahmadinejad said.
.
This deceitful Mr Ahmadinejad is not an honorable man yet, Ahmadinejad influenced and or sustained the posture of Obama's no pre-conditions and no meddling stance concerning Iran to not interfere. Our current foreign policy is not based pro tem of the realities of past and current events occurring in Iran. Accepting the projected hypothesis of not meddling will result in a more progressive outcome in Iran's tyrannic regime is a mistake for American interest.
.
Our domestically challenged president Obama has proven to have no respect to the internal affairs of a pro-capitalism environment American government and now has demonstrated a poor grasp of American history accomplishments standing up for liberty for all in regards to foreign diplomacy. We must face the facts that if a tyrant regime can predicate to the proposition that some people are free and some people will not have freedom, then the American legacy is beyond the pale now of our Founding Fathers original design.

Outside Independence Hall when
the Constitutional Convention of 1787 ended,
Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin,

"Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?"
.
With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded,
"A republic, if you can keep it."
.
The readers at HA are well aware that Obama could not pass an American history test even if was an open book.
He has consistently interwoven false premises with the histoical facts to reinforce his soft tyranny objectives.
.
Now here we are with this Iran situation making all the wrong moves. What should be a no brainer to foreign policy has been convoluted into a false desire to aquiesse to tyrannic regimes. We are indeed living in a very dangerous time for America. We must recoil from this presidents road to our destruction. We must reset to re-establish the United Staes preposition to of life, liberty and the pursuit of property.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad got snubbed by at least 180 members of the Iranian parliament when they no-showed the newly re(s)elected President’s fab-oo celebration. The insult sent a message to Ahmadinejad and the mullahs that love him

If recent events are any indication 180 people are about to get tortured and it won't be water-boarding, led on a leash by a woman or wearing dirty panties on your head. Basically it will be real torture---the removal of body parts.

This Mahmoud sure does know Obama. I do not doubt for second that this statement makes Obama think twice about the actions he has taken the past couple days. I am not implying Obama will change because of this statement, but merely Obama considers it in his thought process (as opposed to dismissing it outright).

Very insightful observation. Meanwhile, Obama dismisses outright all the facts of the field of economics. He is certainly capable of not taking other people's ideas seriously.

We fixed the last election
Just like we always do
How were we to know
That the people would see through?

Now I'm hiding here in Tehran
I'm a desperate man
Send lawyers, guns, and money
The sh!t has hit the fan

Once president of Iran
A real stud duck
But if Obama doesn't save me
I'm sh!t outta luck
I'm sh!t outta luck

Now I'm hiding here in Tehran

Hundreds have been arrested for allegedly taking part or inciting disturbances, including 70 members of the Islamic Society of University Professors, who were arrested after they met with Mousavi on Wednesday afternoon. Their whereabouts are unknown, according to Kalameh.ir, Mousavi’s website.

Ed,

This is imitating what China did after Tiananmen square.

I don't know. I'm fearful that today's protests by the Iranian people will not produce the desired outcome much like the efforts of the young chinese students in Tiananmen square.

I hope and pray for them the best despite human history.

He knows that little statement must be tearing at Obama like acid reflux.

Yea, that one had to leave a mark. It should dawn on Obama now that it doesn't matter who is in office, or what kind of speech they give, or even what kind of "gift" they have they say or how much they try to appease them... in their eyes we're still the meddler, the instigator, and the great satan. but it won't.

Tell you what, we need to form a trading/barter alliance on this site for all of us gun owners and reloaders. I have primers and brass but I need cheaper bullets.

True. Also true:

The Audacity of Hope has come to Iran, and Barack Obama will have nothing to do with it.

"This will not have any result except that the people will consider you somebody similar to Bush."

Ahmadinejad's pretty shrewd, really. He knows that little statement must be tearing at Obama like acid reflux.

my first thought as to why those mullahs didn't attend Ahmedinejad's victory party was this:

are they afraid to come out of their house due to the protesters? maybe they are already "missing" because of Khamenhi?

does anyone know what is going on?
