I think the one violation of norms that bothered Thomas the most was that she got shut out of this press conference.

It’s not the first time. I can remember (though I don’t have the means at my disposal right now) that he didn’t call on her at all during another of his insufferable prime time news conferences.

Perhaps the photos ought not to be released because the people involved are for the most part in prison and in any case were acting on their own, not in any way remotely connected to the previous Administration. It would serve though as fuel for the media’s hate for their own country, and of course, for George Bush, as well as feed the bottomless need for a false sense of moral superiority.
This is even a worse story than the “torture” crap that went on for years, the one the Democrats knew about all along.

So you constantly complain that the press are too cozy with Obama. Then Helen Thomas does what she always does – ask adversarial questions. And yet you blast Thomas for it.

First off, I think Obama made it clear….the photos won’t be released. That may change some time in the future, but right now, it’s not happening. Helen knows this…and she is just trying to get attention here. She has no more credibility with me, as she refers to terrorists, as “so called terrorists”.

Obama isnt much better, trying to change what we call terrorists, as if that will NOT make them terrorists, but he made the right call, and when credit is due, he deserves to be acknowledged for it.
