Video: New RNC ad hits ABC for Obama infomercial

Something for everyone here: For the base, a heaping helping of media bias to get outrageously outraged about, and for centrists, a somber reminder that ObamaCare isn’t a fait accompli. Even so, I’m mystified as to why they didn’t cite the cold, hard, devastating numbers. They’re obviously trying to leverage bailout fatigue and jitters over spending — the words “government takeover” are repeated no less than three times in 60 seconds — but instead of quoting the trillion-dollar pricetag and deficit projections, they went with gauzy palaver about a GOP alternative that’ll go nowhere in Congress. Seems like a missed opportunity.

Rest assured, though, the feds aren’t going to take away your right to private insurance. They’re just going to make the public plan cheap enough to drive private insurers out of business.

Blowback

I don’t for a minute think Diane Sawyer is going to pretend to be tough…but I applaud Mr. Tapper’s performance this afternoon with Obama. The President kept offering him jokes instead of answers and Tapper frowned him down.

Seems like a missed opportunity.

The GOP of the last ten years, in a nutshell.

Cylor on June 23, 2009 at 10:27 PM

The GOP will of course, do NOTHING about this. They pathetic. They only need you for the donations.

That vid was about as convincing as McCain’s ads.

Hopefully, the protests around the country at the local ABC affiliates will be more powerful (providing they are covered by the MSM).

The private insurers should be running ads during the ABC infomercial, “If the govt offers a plan, it will be infinitely cheaper because it’ll be backed by the entire United States govt. We can’t compete w the United States government. We can compete with each other, but not with a superpower, so if you like your QUALITY, and you like new, innovative drugs, treatments, and technologies, and if you don’t want your doctor to be as friendly as the IRS or your healthcare plan to be as reliable and life-saving as Social Security, then call your Congressman now. Otherwise, we’re out of business, and your doctor’s visits will look like trips to the BMV.”

Wise up already. ABC stands for the “All Barrack Channel”.

Got to get a stronger message than this Mr. Steele. I sent him an email about idea for comparison of a run-a-way train with a trillion dollar deficeit. Showed no interest. I guess thats why I show no interest any longer on donating to the republican national committee. The same people who gave us John McCain still in charge as you can see by this limp ad. When they start listening to the folks again, their donations and interest will increase. Too bad they don’t know how to take advantage of a crisis the way the boy king and his simpleton followers do.
