Ramirez on Obama, Iran
posted at 2:12 pm on June 23, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
Sometimes, an introduction is completely unnecessary.

Ramirez has a terrific collection of his works: Everyone Has the Right to My Opinion, which covers the entire breadth of Ramirez’ career, and it gives a fascinating look at political history. Read my review here, and watch my interviews with Ramirez here and here. And don’t forget to check out the entire IBD site, while individual investors still exist.

Iran: The only time Obama didn’t feel the burning urge to “do something.”

TOTUS is having trouble mastering the Green Version of Teh Farce. At the moment, it consists of Helen Thomas chasing a lolly-pop on a treadmill. TOTUS really needs Michelle Obama on that treadmill to achieve the optimal Farce.

I agree with the sentiment of that cartoon, but, it’s a bit gratuitous. She just died. I realize that Obama slept on the job, and we should talk about it. But…I don’t know…this is a human who just got murdered and, even though it’s tagged as “liberty” we all know who it is and, well, this is too much. I don’t like it.

Ramirez could have depicted Barry and Mahmoud, arm in arm, walking past the scene, with bloody footprints trailing them, Barry licking his waffle cone, Mahmoud eating a hot dog, with Barry tossing the comment over his shoulder:
“Might want to put some pressure on that.”

According to the guest host for Rush and the clip he played, Chuck Todd pushed The Won on what Iran would have to do for the U.S. to take action and what that action would be. Three times. The Won wasn’t happy and he didn’t answer.
Cindy Munford on June 23, 2009 at 2:39 PM
It does resonate, though. Gosh…I really, really, really, really, really, really, really cannot tolerate this administration for much longer. Seriously. It’s so twisted. And, those people are BEGGING for help.
Hey, a question: if it’s ok to credit Obama’s indulgent speech in Cairo for the uprising, I wonder if it’s cool now for us to give a shout out to Bush for ACTUALLY deposing a tyrant in Iraq? I mean, if a stupid speech was what motivated an entire people group to mobilize in protest, can Bush get a little credit for shining the first light of freedom there? Arrogance does not even begin to describe Obama and his ilk at this point.
Mommypundit on June 23, 2009 at 2:40 PM
I had to walk away from my computer for a while. But Barry’s hypocrisy and indifference to Neda’s murder must be put on display, and Ramirez did that.

ACORN is dead, get with the program. The name was so tainted after so much corruption was found in the way they helped the filthy liar to office that they decided to change their name to Communitys Organized International. It’s the same corrupt organization but now with a fresh new name.
Personally, I think we should help them in getting the name out by referring to COI with the parens (the organization formerly known as ACORN). Until this new name reeks as much as the old one.

What good would that do? Did you see how unemotional he was when that video showed up. Though he referred to it as heartbreaking, there was not a trace of humanity anywhere in his expression or voice. Bottom line, Neda doesn’t matter to Obama because it is all about him and she is dead and cannot do anything for him.

Living in L.A. I know a lot of Iranians and they are so disappointed in the US’s response to this.

capejasmine on June 23, 2009 at 3:09 PM
Jon, please don’t even joke about that, and not because of some stupid “Secret Service will come knocking on your door” type thing, but for the love of God, can you imagine this country if Obama did not live out his term for any reason, let alone assasaination.
The outpouring of sorrow and emotion by the media etc. would make the national circle jerk after JFK’s death look restrained by comparison. It won’t be just high schools, but whole towns and municipalities will be renamed for Obama. I wouldn’t be surprised to find a state or two cosidering a name change (Vermont anyone?)
And don’t forget how the fallen martyr mythos has led to a vast historical over rating of JFK, who basically performed well in Cuba and got the space program really going, got a major tax cut passed, but was middling to failure in most other aspects of his presidency.
Do you really want to turn Obama into the great, multi-racial, uniter who died before his time?
No thank you. I hope to see momving vans heading back to Chicago in January 2013 and nothing else.

Obama is supposed to be the Democrat’s Reagan. Reagan defeated communism in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe with his strong rhetoric. Shouldn’t Obama with his “amazing oratorical skills” [read: Teleprompters] be able to do something similar about Iran?

HornetSting on June 23, 2009 at 3:25 PM
That too, just like all those Bush Assasaination fantasies, spun over the last eight years were just free speech right?
I work with several Obama voters from flaming liberals to moderate independents, and some of them have bought into the “Obama’s 53% = united country; Bush’s 52% = fragmented country” meme. I have told them I intend to treat Obama and the office of the presidency with the same dignity and respect most of the left did for Bush.
